Have you guy's also noticed that they also whisper softly. When my princess fifi is looking at a bird outside she meows very softly under her breath, I swear you have to be right beside her to hear it.

We've always had fairly talkative cats. Mohinder makes a variety of sounds, Lego will get into lengthy back-and-forth conversations (and he'll 'play' Marco Polo with you if he's in the mood!). Lego also chatters (almost a rattle sound) when he's angry/pouncy. Our neighbour cat Mr. Orange sometimes grumble-meows constantly when he sees one of us, like he's relating a long anecdote.

But my aunt's cat Lucky takes the cake-- Lucky has learned the names of the people he lives with (and a couple of names that have since moved out of the house), and he can even *pronounce* a couple of them. He has freaked people the heck out with that little trick. It was especially creepy back when he had little mangy bald patches in his otherwise long black fur. He looked like something out of a J-horror film-- like the opposite of the little boy from Ju-on, a cat that talks. I think it's kind of sweet, but everyone else thinks he's scary.

i have conversations with grumbles biggrin . she'd say "mrow" and i'd respond with "mrow" and she'd respond with "mrow" and i'd respond with "mrow"... it'd go on until she gets tired of it and stops talking with me.

of course, i really have no idea what kinds of conversations grumbles and i actually end up having. it's probably some girl talk, as we're both girls.

mitts likes talking at me. he's not very interested in having conversations. but when he sees cats outside, he'd start mrowing and purring up a storm. i guess he wants to have conversations only with other cats. unfortunately grumbles doesn't like talking to him.

My cat is very quiet, until he sees me eating something, or I'm walking away.

But when I was little, my mom's cat would be sleeping, and in it's sleep it would say "mama" in a small humanlike voice. Both of her cats were so weird. O_o

Siamese are actually some of the most talkative kitties around :]

My little baby is already very talkative (at five weeks xD). He has this awful little "let me go dowwwwwwwn" meow, an "I just woke uppp" meow, a "cuddle me" meow, a meow for when he's just walking/running around, a meow if he sees you, and a "OMG YOUR HOME COME SEE ME" meow xD He also purrs almost nonstop, haha.

my cat makes this noise that, if he were human, would amount to "hell-loooo where aaare yooouuu?"
he only does it in the middle of the night, though sweatdrop
it's 'cause he wants to go outside.
it's so funny though because he sounds like he's calling to me. 4laugh

My previous cats would make a variety of sounds. Everything from purring to little meows to "I'm really hungry" type of wailing (that's why we leave the food at a certain spot in case we're not home)

I believe it.
My 3 cats have a lot of different types of meows for every single little thing they want.

Anlina
Doesn't surprise me in the slightest. Tiger is very talkative and says different things depending on what he wants. When he wants to go out he has a meow that sounds very similar to the word "out".

My girls also get pretty talkative at night and they make a bunch of different sounds. Mostly chirps but some meows too.

And then of course there are the extreme sounds like shouts, hisses and yowls. Thankfully I don't hear those too often.

too true.
My cats go in and out day and night, and they're always at the door screaming a meow that sounds almost exactly like "out".
