The whole horse thing is retarded, but racism is definitely still prevalent in society. For example, minority groups do tend to get lower quality healthcare. Also, from my experience, the racism isn't as much overt as it is implied with people's attitudes. I've seen it a lot, never to myself but I've seen many people say racist things about other races, not just joking about races as close friends would do. It's a tragedy that people can be so closed minded, but that just makes it all the more pertinent for us to keep our minds open and try to put ourselves in others' shoes.
