Gokinjo Monogatari [meaning, "Neighbourhood Story"] is the tale of two childhood friends named Mikako Koda and Tsutomo Yamaguchi. As the story unwinds, we follow these characters and their friends through High School and slowly watch their relationship develop. This romantic shoujo from the mid 90's is definitely worth a read.

In case you hadn't noticed by now, I'm a huge Ai Yazawa fan XP ~hehe

Yaaay!~Another fan (^o^)
Yazawa is by far my favourite mangaka of all time <3
I love how her shoujo are so easy to relate to. Her creations have universal relevence, even though they're mostly set in Japan. Oh, and I can't believe she's been pubishing since she was only eighteen-years-old; she exudes the life-experience of someone so much older.

Yep, it's one of her earlier works. If you're a Nana fan, or if you've ever read Paradise Kiss, I know for certain that you'll enjoy this manga. 3nodding

Actually, I haven't got round to making a Parakiss thread just yet, but it's my favourite series by Ai Yazawa...perhaps tied with NANA (I really can't decide between them >.<) Hehe
