My band director gave us a "mid-term" for band. He graded percussion on rudiments, rolls, and sight-reading. I got an 80 on rudiments, 90 on rolls, and 60 on SR. Anyone else have something like that?

We have a test at the end of each semester:
for the first semester Freshmen- 8 scales, optional sheet music Sophomores- 8 scales, memorized Juniors- 12 scales, optional sheet music Seniors- 12 scales memorized.
Second Semester Freshies- 8 scales memorized Sophies- 12 scales, optional sheet music Juns- 12 scales memorized Seniors- Major/Minor scales.
Or something like that. Our band is 300 large, so we have 5 band classes. I can't be sure of the top two- I'm in the third down.

We have a guard final at the end of the year. We have to... -pick a song (if its too long you pick parts to cut, too short you find something to add to it) -Design our own floor, uniforms, and flags -Write a flag feature -Write a weapon feature (your choice between rifle and saber) -Explain the theme and emotion of the show and make sure we perform what we say 3nodding
