Christmas Wishes
Chapter I

It was a cold, wet day in Kinkan town. School was out for a week and Ahiru had no where to stay. Usually she would stay at school in times like these but this week no students were allowed to stay in their dorms, it was Christmas break and everyone was told to go home for the holidays. One problem, Ahiru didn’t have a home. But Ahiru had a plan and she hoped it would work.
Thunder roared overhead and Ahiru sprang forward in surprise.
“Quack!” she exclaimed, “oh great!”
With a red glow of light Ahiru disappeared and all her clothes fell to the ground. All was quiet and still for a moment then the clothes started to move and a small yellow head appeared out from the hem of her school uniform.
“Quack!” she said in an annoyed tone, of course the rain had stopped and no where in sight was there a pool of water for her to transform back.
‘Well this wasn’t part of my plan…’ she thought as she gathered up her clothes in a bundle and continued to trudge on to her destination. Suddenly she felt hot breath tickling the back of her neck.
“Qua?” she said as she slowly turned around, “QUACK!” she panicked. Standing behind her was the biggest dog she had ever seen. He growled at her. Ahiru gulped and tried to think of what she could do. The dog leaned closer and barked in her face.
“Quack!!!!!!!” Ahiru exclaimed as she jumped up in the air. The dog continued to bark.
“Qua! Qua! Qua! Qua quack!!!!! QUACK!” Ahiru said as she waddled down the street as fast as she could. To her dismay the dog followed and barked incessantly at her. The dog bumped her and she went rolling head over heels into the wall of a building.
‘Oh hreat.’ she thought. The dog continued to bark. The door opened behind her and she fell inside.
“What the?!” Fakir yelled, ‘get out of here you dog!” he yelled. Ahiru waddled out of sight and Fakir shut the door after scaring the loud dog away. He muttered something under his breath and returned to what he had been doing before the dog had interrupted him. Ahiru hid her clothes behind a chair and out of curiosity she snuck out to see what Fakir was doing.
He was…cooking?
“Quack!” Ahiru exclaimed in surprise, she covered her beak with her wing when she realized her mistake. Fakir heard the quack and turned around to see what was the matter. Ahiru scurried under the table and hid, she nervously waited to see if Fakir would find her. A minute passed and she relaxed slightly, perhaps Fakir hadn’t heard her after all.
“Ah-ha!” Fakir said as he peeked under the table, “I found you.”
“Quack! Quack! ’’she said.
Fakir gave an amused laugh, “I can’t understand what you’re saying lil duck.” he said softly. For some reason he was not as harsh as he usually was.
“Quack! Quack quack! (put me down now!).” Ahiru shouted at him. Fakir smiled and just made sure he didn’t drop her. He sat her on the counter and muttered something to himself again. He then turned to Ahiru and said, “You’re wet little duck let me get you something to dry you off with.”
As soon as Fakir left the room Ahiru panicked. She stood up and ran around the counter flapping her wings.
“Quack! Quack! (What do I do?! What do I do?!)”
Fakir chose the wrong moment to walk back in the room.
“QUAAAAAACK! (Not good!)” Ahiru screeched as she stepped too close to the sink. Loosing her balance she fell into a sink full of water.
“Why me?” she muttered as she turned back into a girl.
“What in the?!?” Fakir yelled in a major state of shock as he witnessed the weirdest scene he had ever watched. To make it worse it wasn’t the first time he had ever seen it. With a soft red glow of light the tiny duck he had held in his hands just a moment before turned into a girl.
“AH- AHIRU WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?!?!?!?” he yelled he turned bright red as he turned around to keep from staring at her in all her naked glory. He was completely mortified at the thought of seeing her naked. Again. And just what in the world was she doing at his house?
“Gomen! Gomen!” Ahiru said. Fakir covered his eyes and turned back around. Ahiru giggled when she saw how red he was, for once she could embarrass him instead of the other way around.
“Here! Take this!” he hurled the towel at her blindly and she caught it somewhat clumsily. She climbed out of the sink awkwardly and wrapped herself up in it and pulled it down so it made a mini dress.
“It’s safe now..” she said awkwardly.
Fakir cautiously removed his hand from his eyes and sighed in relief, he sat down in the kitchen chair before he started to yell.
“Why are you here?!” he asked her. He gave her a weird and confused glare.
“Uhh…it’s a long story…” Ahiru muttered.
To her surprise Fakir gave her a half-smile.
“This is so not funny…” he muttered. He stood up and walked up the stairs, “Well, the least I can do is give you some clothes to wear…”

Chapter II
It took Fakir all of five minutes to find the clothes and bring them back downstairs. Ahiru was sitting at the dinner table nervously waiting when Fakir came stumbling down the steps.
“Here take this!” he said shoving the clothes at Ahiru. Ahiru smiled as she noted the nervousness in his voice.
“Thank you.” Ahiru said gratefully as she stood up. She awkwardly looked around for a place to put the clothes on, “Uhmmm…” she said.
“Go upstairs, first door on the right.” Fakir said, he pointed up the stairs from where he sat.
“Thanks again.” Duck said as she carefully made her way up the steps. As soon as Ahiru disappeared Fakir leaned his head back and covered his face with his hands, he growled and muttered something along the lines of, “now what?”
DIVIDING LINE
Ahiru was somewhat happy that Fakir hadn’t immediately thrown her out the door, she was nervous about what she had to say, or ask him too. She made her way up the steps. She somehow made it up the narrow dimly lit stairway without tripping. She made it to the top and stood there feeling along the wall for the edge of the door. She would have turned on the light but she had no clue where the light switch was. She finally found it and she stumbled into a small cozy bathroom. She closed the door behind her and held the clothes Fakir had given her in the light so she could see what they looked like.
“Wow! It’s really pretty!” Ahiru thought. It was a long dress that was sky blue, long sleeved and floor length. Simple yet pretty. Ahiru wiggled out of the towel and slid the dress on over her head. She looked at herself in the mirror and she had to smile as she spun around and looked at her reflection. The dress was a little big but it wasn’t too bad except for the length of the sleeves. Ahiru didn’t even think twice about what Fakir would be doing with a dress. ( XD I didn’t think about how Fakir having a dress sounded when I was originally wrote it, he has it for a reason but it’s not perverted or anything, you’ll see *grin*)
Ahiru happily danced down the stairs. Ahiru, being the clumsy person she is, tripped half-way down and unceremoniously tumbled down the rest of them.
“Idiot.” Fakir muttered. She had landed right at his feet. Fakir glared down at her from where he sat with his arms crossed.
“Well he’s back to his normal self…’ Ahiru thought, ‘just as scary as ever.’
Ahiru slowly picked herself off of the floor. After getting up she cautiously wiped the dust from the dress.
“Well?” Fakir asked in a demanding manner as he still glared, “are you hurt?”
“I don’t think so…” she said, “thanks for asking, Fakir.” she added with a smile of gratitude.
Fakir growled and stood up, “No need to thank me, it’s not like I care or anything.”
Ahiru sighed. Yep, he was back to his normal self alright.
“Well I know that somehow, someway you do care, even if it is only a little!” she retorted. Fakir froze in mid-step. He stopped with his back to Ahiru and not a word was spoken between the two.
“Aw no, now I’ve really made him mad!’ Ahiru panicked and the tension between the two grew. Finally Fakir turned to face her, his eyes showed his anger and something else Ahiru didn’t quite understand.
“Yeah right…” he muttered instead of blowing up and throwing her out like she thought he would have done. He walked over to the fridge and pulled out two cans of soda, “Why would I ever care for a little runt like you who follows me around like a fan girl?” he said louder.
‘Why he….’ Ahiru thought, her anger boiling inside her. She clenched her fists and tried hard to resist the urge to punch something, ‘Me?! Follow him?!?! LIKE A FANGIRL?!?!? HE IS SO FULL OF HIMSELF!!!!!’
Fakir watched Ahiru’s anger grow in amusement. It was always fun to watch how she got herself worked up, he felt a small smirk tug at the corners of his mouth. Ahiru of course never noticed this, she was too busy working up her anger to notice what Fakir was doing. Fakir couldn’t help it any longer, he let the small smirk out and covered it up with his can of soda as he took a sip.
‘Might as well stop her before she hurts something or….’ Fakir didn’t want to complete the thought. He sat the soda down on the counter beside him.
“Hey!” he said loudly, “hey! Snap out of it!” he said trying to stop her from going into a rampage.
It worked. Ahiru snapped out of her rampage like state and turned her attention to Fakir, “Huh…what was that?” she asked.
Fakir sighed and grabbed the extra can of soda he had taken from the refrigerator, “Want some?” he asked as he held the can up.
“Uhh…sure.” Ahiru answered.
With that Fakir tossed the soda to her from where he stood. Somehow Ahiru miraculously managed to catch it.
“Thank you.” she said politely. Fakir grunted in response. He leaned back against the kitchen counter and he resituated his drink on the counter beside him.
“So…what are you doing at my house anyways? You never really got around to telling me in chapter one no matter how many times I asked.” Fakir asked.
“Oh! I’m sorry…” Ahiru said. She suddenly looked down at the table and fiddled with the soda in front of her.
“Well?” Fakir said impatiently, “what is it?”
“Fakir…I-I don’t have a home to go to…” Ahiru muttered as she still stared at the table. Fakir suddenly felt a twinge of sympathy for the younger girl.
“But what does that have to do with you being here?” he asked softly. He grabbed his drink that had been sitting beside him and sat down across the table from her.
“Well I guess that means you didn’t hear about the renovations they’re doing to the dorm rooms, huh?” Ahiru said.
Fakir shook his head and took a sip of his drink, “I don’t live in the dorms, I stay here and walk to school in the mornings.” he supplied her with an answer.
“Ah….well, since they’re doing renovations on the dorms I can’t stay there like I usually do. So basically I was turned out onto the streets. I didn’t know what to do so I asked some people at school what I should do… Mytho-san said you might know a place where I could stay…” Ahiru turned red and turned her gaze back to the table, “he-he also said maybe…I should stay with you if all else fails…”
Fakir nearly choked on his soda when he heard this, ‘Wha?????’ he thought as he tried to keep from choking on the drink, ‘I’m gonna kill Mytho…’ he thought.
“NANI?!?!?!” he yelled slamming the drink onto the table. Ahiru winced and sank down in the kitchen chair.
“I-I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have asked. I’ll go then, I’m really sorry I bothered you Fakir.” Ahiru said. With that she pushed her chair away from the table and started to stand.
“No!’ Fakir said suddenly, he let out a frustrated growl after his statement. The sudden remark startled Ahiru into jumping back from the table. Ahiru’s eyes were wide with shock.
“You can stay…” he muttered between gritted teeth. He couldn’t believe he was doing this, but what was he supposed to do? Throw her out on the streets?
Ahiru gasped in response, “Oh Fakir I-”
“Wait!” Fakir said holding his hand up to stop her, “only on three conditions, don’t annoy me, disappear when my landlady comes around or she’ll have my head and last but definitely not least, be sure and disappear when my girlfriend comes over.” (MWA HA HA I have such evil plans for this *rubs hands together evilly*)
“Okay I can do that!” Ahiru chirped happily. With that she reached under the chair she hid her clothes under. She pulled them out and held them in her arms.
“Errr…..” she said when she saw Fakir giving her and the clothes a weird look. He was remember the escapade that happened when Ahiru first arrived of course.
“Uhmmm…it’s a long story….” she said scratching the back of her head as she sweat dropped.
“I don’t want to know.” Fakir said. He put his hands on the table and stood up.
“Since I don’t have a guest bedroom, you can just sleep in my room. I’ll sleep in the living room.” he said as he motioned her to follow him up the stairs.
“Uh- are you sure?” Ahiru asked, “I don’t mind sleeping in the living room.”
“Eh, it’s okay,” Fakir said waving her concerns away, “I usually end up on the couch anyways.”
Before Ahiru could ask what he meant she heard a ‘tap, tap, tap’ sound coming from the top of the stairs. She looked up to see a tiny girl standing at the edge of the stairs beating on a drum.
“Who’s that - zura?” the girl asked Fakir. She momentarily stopped her consistent beating of her drum to point at Ahiru. She momentarily stopped beating on her drum so she could hear what Fakir’s answer would be.
“This is Ahiru, a girl I go to school with.” Fakir said.
“Ohhh…” Uzura said, “are you Fakir’s girlfriend - zura?” she asked, as she had done before she added -zura to the end of her question.
Ahiru blushed vehemently and Fakir sweat dropped. Simultaneously they both managed to blurt out, “No!!! It’s not like that we’re barely even friends!”
After the two gave each other an odd glare and a ‘I can’t believe that just happened’ look, Fakir turned back to Uzura (they’re now at the top of the stairs lol).
“You remember my girlfriend, she was just here last weekend.” he siad to tiny Uzura.
“Ahhh! You still have the same one - zura? Usually you get rid of them quicker - zura!” she said.
Ahiru had to stifle giggles when Uzura said this and Fakir blushed bright red. It was true, Fakir had never really stayed with one girlfriend longer than a month or two but now he had been going steady for five months ( insert evil laugh, I have plans I have plans do not doubt my greatness!! XD).
“I’m not that bad…” Fakir muttered as he glared at both Uzura and Ahiru. Ahiru had to hold back the urge to tell him he was.
“Uzura’s my half-sister.” Fakir said suddenly, he broke Ahiru from her thoughts.
“Hai!!!” Uzura chirped giving Ahiru a big grin. She tapped her drum only to stop and attach herself to Fakir’s leg, “Fakir-Onii-chan!!!!” she said as she hugged his leg.
Fakir huffed when he heard the nickname, Ahiru thought it was rather cute.
“I didn’t know you had a sister Fakir,” Ahiru said while she watched the scene between the siblings.
“Yeah….” Fakir muttered. Fakir was one of the most popular guys at school but that did not necessarily mean a lot was known about him. Fakir suddenly spun away dragging Uzura along with him. Ahiru followed them down the hallway, two doors away from the bathroom Ahiru had earlier visited Fakir pushed open a door and faint sunlight streamed out and fell on them.
“Hee, this is my room, you’ll be sleeping here…” Fakir said motioning her inside.
Ahiru feverously stepped inside, she felt like she was invading territory she didn’t belong in. the room looked like any normal teens. The floor was hardwood and two windows rested opposite the door. The walls were painted dark blue and the white curtains on the windows were pulled back to let the sunlight in. in the left corner opposite the door a computer sat in its desk, on top of the hard drive and monitor there were sheaf’s of papers stacked, both stacks looked like they were about to fall over. The computer was asleep and the gray chair that went with the desk was currently sitting closer to the door than where it belonged at the desk. A poster rested between the two windows, between the window and the right corner there was a three shelf bookcase that was loaded with as many books as it could hold, some were even stacked on top of it. The bed was a twin bed and was neatly made up with a blue comforter. On the other side of the bed and between it and the wall there was a wooden beside table, the only thing that rested on it was a picture frame that Ahiru couldn’t see whose picture it was. (srry weird wording I know). Behind the door there was a chest of drawers and a dirty clothes hamper was in front of it with clothes carelessly tossed in it.
“You’ll have to do your own laundry.” Fakir said suddenly when he saw her staring at the overflowing clothes hamper, “I don’t wanna deal with your…”
Fakir’s voice trailed off and Ahiru turned to see what had happened. She found him blushing, she had to let out a tiny giggle. Ahiru never thought blushing would be characteristic to a guy like Fakir.
“It’s okay I don’t mind.” Ahiru said clutching her school uniform to her chest, “Are you sure you want me to stay in here? Wouldn’t you want to sleep in your own room?” “I don’t mind, like I said before, I usually end up on the couch, I’ll stay up late watching a movie or something and I’ll end up falling asleep before I know it” he elaborated.
“Ahhh.” Ahiru said nodding.
“Would you like to get on the computer or something?” he asked.
“Uhh…sure…” Ahiru answered, she wasn’t much of a computer person, they didn’t like to work for her a lot of the time.
“M’kay hold on a sec.” Fakir said, he plopped down in the gray chair and rolled it across the floor and to his computer desk. Ahiru stood behind him and watched as he moved the mouse to wake the computer up, he closed out whatever he had been doing earlier. Before he could get up the phone rang downstairs and Ahiru jumped back in surprise. Fakir stood up from the chair, “I’ll go get that.” he said, “Do whatever you want, I wont be back after I get the phone, I have to finish fixing supper.” he told her.
“Okay…” Ahiru said, a wave of uncertainty in her voice. With that Fakir closed the door behind him and Ahiru heard him rush down the stairs to answer the phone. Ahiru spun in circles in the computer chair, she didn’t know what to do. She didn’t feel like messing around on the computer. Once again her eyes fell to the picture that stood on the bedside table. She stood up and walked to the bed, she sat her clothes bundle on the bed and leaned across to see who the picture was of.
The young woman was wearing the same outfit that Ahiru herself was wearing. Ahiru’s eyes widened when she realized this. The woman had long wavy blonde hair and green eyes, she was smiling happily at whoever was taking the picture, she wasn’t Fakir’s girlfriend, she didn’t look enough like him to be his mother or an older sister. She wasn’t someone Ahiru had seen at school either.
Who was she?

Chapter III

Since staring at the woman’s picture wasn’t helping Ahiru figure out who she was, Ahiru decided to sit down in the desk chair again. Before sitting down Ahiru grabbed a random book off of the shelf. She plopped down in the chair tiredly and opened the book. She wasn’t one to read a lot but in a sense she did like reading -kind of, well, it was something to do when she was bored. -Ok, that got weird, I know.…- After finishing the first chapter Ahiru became bored with the book and put it back on the shelf in its rightful place.
With this done Ahiru decided to go see if Fakir needed any help with dinner. She found him facing the kitchen counter with the cordless phone pressed to his ear.
“Okay, thanks.” he said and then pulled the phone away from his ear. Ahiru noticed the kitchen was a mess.
“Uhhmm…Fakir?” Ahiru said. He whirled around to find Ahiru watching him.
“What?” he snapped.
“Do you need help doing anything?” she asked.
“Nah, dinner burnt while we were upstairs.” he explained, “I ordered pizza for us.”
“Really?? Ahiru asked. She immediately perked up.
Fakir smirked at her sudden perkiness, “Yeah, hope you don’t mind pepperoni and cheese.”
Ahiru shook her head vigorously, “No! Not at all!”
Fakir then turned back to his work, Ahiru nervously watched him, wondering what she should do. Finally, she decided to ask, “Is there anything I can do, Fakir?”
He turned around to stare at her, she felt herself shrink back.
“Well, you could stand there and stare at me all day or you could help clean up this mess.” he said sourly. He was tired and Ahiru’s stupid questions weren’t helping any. She jumped in surprise at his response and he sighed, there was just no end to this girl’s ditzy-ness.
“Uh, oh! Yeah!” she said. She snapped to attention and scurried around the kitchen hurriedly, looking for something she could help do. Fakir watched her with amused eyes, she even walked like a duck….
‘She’s almost cute….’ Fakir mused to himself. Suddenly, he realized what he was thinking and shook his head, where had that come from? He hated this girl, or so he thought. Maybe he didn’t hate her as much as he thought he did? Or maybe…. Fakir blushed suddenly.
“You okay, Fakir?” Ahiru asked. She was standing right beside him, he sidestepped away from her when he realized how close they were.
“You look like you have a fever.” she said, she leaned forward, gazing at him worriedly. -yeah, yeah, the cliché fever thing I know, I couldn’t resist. It just seems like something that would happen between them XDDD-
“I’m fine!” he said, flustered. He glared at her, as hard as he could and attempted to calm himself.
“Whatever you say.” Ahiru said, she seemed to be talking to herself more than him, “just don’t blame me when you wake up sick…”
She walked away from him, sweeping the floor as she went. Fakir swore he had never met a weirder girl in his life. Uzura then decided to walk in, for once she wasn’t playing her drum. Ahiru was blissfully sweeping the floor - she didn’t hear Uzura approach behind her.
“WHAT’S UP ‘ZURA?!” Uzura shouted at Ahiru.
Ahiru jumped at least three feet in the air, she dropped the broom, “QUA-” before she could finish her shout of panic, she slapped her hand over her mouth. And Fakir had had enough.
“Ok, first your name is Ahiru,” he began a mini-rant seemingly from the middle of no-where, “then you walk like a duck, then you say ‘quack’?!”
Ahiru swallowed hard, this was going to take a lot of explaining. But Fakir wasn’t through ranting yet.
“And let’s not forget when I found you, you WERE a duck?!?!” he continued, “What is wrong with you?! Are you a duck or are you human?!?! Or…or…”
DING-DONG! Fakir whirled around in the middle of his statement to face the door. Ahiru felt herself relax with relief. Fakir then turned to glare at her, “This isn’t over…” he muttered. He then went to the door to grab their pizza. As soon as he had disappeared from sight, Ahiru let out a long, distressed sigh, “That was close…” she muttered.
“What was close, ‘zura?” Uzura asked. She stared up at Ahiru curiously while beating on her drum. Ahiru looked down at the little girl, she had completely forgotten she was there.
“Oh, nothing….” she said absent-mindedly. She then straightened up upon hearing voices. Fakir soon reappeared, pizza in hand.
“Hope you’re hungry.” he said plopping the pizza down on the table. He then grabbed a chair and sat down, he motioned for Ahiru and Uzura to do the same.
Ahiru giddily accepted the offer and sat down across from him, Uzura sat on the end of the table, between the two of them. Quickly, the three of them dug into the pizza, all enjoying every bite of it.
Fakir didn’t mention Ahiru’s mysterious duck-like nature while they ate, he decided to save it for later and enjoy the meal for now. He had to admit though, it must be one weird story she had to tell. He watched her as she ate, blissfully unaware of him watching her. He wondered if she was always like that - carefree and naïve. Or was it just a cover up?
“How long are you staying with us, ‘zura?” Uzura asked. She happily bit into her pizza, watching Ahiru the entire time.
“Uhm…well, Christmas break lasts three weeks. But it all depends on what Fakir has to say.” she answered and then looked to Fakir, expecting him to give a response.
He sighed and hoped he could live through all of this, “You can stay the entire time….” he muttered through clenched teeth. He silently cursed his kindness.
Ahiru immediately grinned upon hearing this, “Thanks.” she said.
Fakir mumbled something she couldn’t hear, but it didn’t matter to her now. Fakir was being nice to her so she didn’t care.
“Yay! Uzura has a friend to play with ‘zura!” she said. She beat her drum happily. Ahiru laughed at Uzura’s exclamation. And Fakir growled, “No drums at the table!!!” he shouted.

Chapter IV

Ahiru awoke suddenly, feeling as if she were in a place she’d never been before. She sat up straight and viewed her surrounded in the faint silvery moonlight. Then she remembered where she was, and what all had happened the day before. She sighed, it was definitely way too early to be up yet, the sun hadn’t even appeared on the horizon yet! The clock on the bedside table glared lime green letters back at her, the time was 3:41 AM.
‘What a long day…’ she thought, thinking of all that had happened the day before and how tired she was. With that she plopped back down on the bed and resolved to go back to sleep. She drifted off, dreaming of the wonderful Mytho and how he would rescue her from the awful Fakir.
DIVIDINGLINEDIVIDINGLINEDIVIDINGLINE
Fakir growled, this couldn’t be happening, he couldn’t have been in a more awkward situation. He glared down at Ahiru, who was sleeping in his bed. He’d been trying to wake her for at least an hour now, nothing worked, this girl slept like a rock. He took a deep breath and decided to try it one more time. With that he grabbed Ahiru by the shoulders and shook her forcefully.
“WAKE UUUUP!!!!” he shouted.
It didn’t work. She still slept, Fakir slapped his forehead and sank down to the floor, his back leaning against the bed, ‘This is impossible…’ he thought. He stole a look at Ahiru, she was drooling now. He grimaced, and on his pillow was where the drool was going to land.
He heard a ‘tap, tap, tap.’ and he knew Uzura was coming with her drum. The door opened and she allowed herself in.
“What sup ‘zura?” she asked him loudly.
“Trying to wake sleeping ducky girl.” her brother replied, jerking his thumb over his shoulder.
“Ooh ‘zura!” Uzura said, she stopped tapping her drum momentarily and walked over to the edge of the bed, “Let me help ‘zura!!!”
With that Uzura clambered up on top of the bed awkwardly. Fakir watched amusedly as she walked to Ahiru’s sleeping head. As soon as she made it, she stopped, caught her balance and started beating her drum furiously, “WAKE UUUUUPPP!!!!” she shouted to Ahiru.
Ahiru was suddenly confronted with a disturbingly loud sound right next to her ear drums, she jerked and sat up straight, nearly screaming in fright, “Wha?!?!?” She looked around frantically, confused at what was going on.
“Looks like you did it.” Fakir said with a smirk.
“Is it morning already?!” Ahiru asked, she yawned and rubbed her eyes.
“Yeah it is, idiot and I’m going to be late to work because of you.” Fakir snapped, he glared at her.
“OH MY GOD!!! I’m soooo sorry!!!” Ahiru nearly jumped out of the bed.
Fakir sighed, he should have known she would have freaked out like that, “It’s fine… I just need you to watch Uzura today and go to the store and get some food, we’re nearly out.”
With that Fakir stood up and stretched, Ahiru watched him apprehensively, “I’ll be back around four in the afternoon, and please don’t wreck the house, my girlfriend is coming over later.”
Ahiru grimaced at the mention of ‘girlfriend’. she inwardly rolled her eyes, “Okay, sure.” she replied.
“I’m going now.” Fakir said with a grunt. Before Ahiru or Uzura could say anything, Fakir left the room. Less than a minute later, the two heard the front door slam.
“He’s sure cheery this morning….” Ahiru muttered to herself.
“Nii-san is always like that in the morning ‘zura.” Uzura said. She grinned at Ahiru and beat her drum, lighter than she had been before.
“So, Fakir’s not a morning person?” she asked.
Uzura shook her head, “Nope, nii-chan hates the mornings ‘zura!!!”
Ahiru shook her head, “Weird….okay, whatever, Uzura, would be okay if I took a shower?” she asked.
“Uzura nodded, “Shower ‘till your heart’s content ‘zura!!” she banged her drum and Ahiru chuckled at the child’s response.
“Okay, well, I’ll take a shower then, you be good okay, be back in a bit…” she told the girl as she left Uzura sprawled out on Fakir’s bed with her drum.
“Okay ‘zura!!!” Uzura shouted after her. Ahiru shook her head, ‘Uzura and her drum, what an odd combination…’ she thought.
A few minutes later, Ahiru was through with her quick shower and was dressed in her pale yellow [to keep with her duck theme lol] hoodie and black pants. She braided her hair in its normal hairstyle and made her way back to where she’d left Uzura.
“Uzura?” she called before entering the room.
“Ahiru, ‘zura!!” Uzura called back, she sat up and watched as Ahiru entered the room, “What we doing today ‘zura?” she asked.
“Hmmm, well Fakir wants us to go shopping for food, but other than that, I haven’t the slightest idea…” Ahiru said.
