I believe that Jacob is Jack's father.
I mean, In the first season Jack found the Casket, His father wasn't in there.

And before I stop typing, theres another theory about Jack's father being Jacob:
In the third season when Jack was being held prisoner in the Hydra station, there was an intercom.
He heard static at first, and then he hears what sounds so much like his father's voice saying: "Help me..."
Juliet then walks into the room and tells Jack that the intercom hasn't worked for years...
Remember when Locke and Benry went to Jacob' shack?
As Locke started to leave the place, he heard a voice say the same thing.
Now...
