Well you see my kitten Beatrix has been peeing in this potted plant in the house and always gets dirt everywhere but we are never able to catch her in the act to spray her with a water bottle or anything and now my mom is threatening to make her stay outside if I don't find a way to stop her D:. So does anyone know any product that stops cats from doing this or anything?

There are certain scents cats don't like... Maybe if you spray the base of the plant with one it could act as a deterrent.
This works on cats that bite cords. 3nodding

You can try making the pot unappealing to her as well - she probably likes the feel of the dirt, so you could put a layer of marbles on top of the soil, or lay some pieces of chicken wire down, so that she no longer likes the feel of it on her paws.
Does she still use her litterbox normally?

Does she still use her litterbox normally? Yes, she uses her litterbox normally and she also goes outside to pee. But I am not sure why she picks that one potted plant because we have alot of other potted plants in the house

Temily_Emily This forum answer suggests using coffee grounds. Which would hopefully deter the cat and help the plant! But other than coffee grounds it lists several citrus scents, such as lemon or orange. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20061121200608AAnFtwj This one tells you how to use the coffee grounds in gardens and planters. Quote: Encircle the base of the plant with a coffee and eggshell barrier to repel pests. http://www.sustainableenterprises.com/Business/coffeefert.htm This site has many, many ideas! http://www.thriftyfun.com/tf000978.tip.html Thank you so much! I will try those suggestions and see if it works!

Does she still use her litterbox normally? One of mine did this and I went to a fish/aquarium store and got several bags of river pebbles -- used as very large gravel in bigger tanks. They're about as round as a dime or a penny and are real stones. They're very affordable. I washed them well and then put them in the top of the pot and voila! No more peeing in the pot!

River rocks ftw!
Both my girls decided to use the ficus tree as a litterbox. I flushed the soil by running water through the pot and then covered the top of it with large, smooth rocks and they've stayed out of there ever since.

When my cat was a lil baby, he would always poo in hour plotted tree. It was reallly gross because it stunk up the whole house and was plain gross. Worst off, he slept in that pot. Wow, he used to be so small back then. Now he's gigantic smile
