Sure, it's kinda popular, but still is very good ^^
So any other fans of the first Nobuhiro Watsuki - Rurouni Kenshin - manga out there??? summary The story starts with Kamiya Kaoru mistaking Himura Kenshin for a murderer known as "Hitokiri Battōsai." When she sees Kenshin's reverse-bladed sword, or sakabatō, she allows that he could not be the murderer. Kenshin saves her from certain death in battle against the real murderer, who claims to be a practitioner of Kamiya Kasshin Ryū, Kaoru's own style, while using the name "Hitokiri Battōsai". Kenshin takes her back to her dojo and Kaoru tells him of recent events while a man named Hiruma Kihei patches up her arm. Later, it turns out that Kihei and the murderer, whose real name is Hiruma Gohei, were working together to try and get Kaoru to sell the dojo. The brothers Hiruma take Kaoru hostage and sic their goons on Kenshin, who takes them all out with his superior speed and sword skill. Before destroying Kaoru's dojo floor with Gohei's face, Kenshin tells everyone that "Hitokiri Battosai doesn't use Kamiya Kasshin Ryu, but an ancient style of the Sengoku era that pits one against many: Hiten Mitsurugi Ryū. If not for such a sword, the body count would increase tenfold" (Watsuki 46). Thus having revealed his identity, Kenshin makes ready to leave -- until Kaoru asks for his name and for him to stay. It's pretty slow in some volumes, but to me it's a must read x333. It t'was the first manga I ever read ^^.

I LOVE Kenshin himself xDDD. He's such a cutie, he was the first anime guy I ever really thought was cute [ well technically there was Heero from Gundam Wing first, but back then I didn't know what anime was xD].
I think Saitou would have to be my second favorite, with his stand off-ish nature and kick-a** sword skills. Not to mention his sense of humor.
Fav couple would be KenKao of course.
Characters I hate?? I think.....well, the villians of course. xD. I think I'd have to say Megumi. She annoyed me from the start, she did get better however, but I still didn't like her too much ^^;;. And sadly, Kaoru can be a bit of a mary-sue >_<. She gets better, but near the beginning sh's really mary-sueish and I just wanted to slap her. >>;
OH OH. I REALLY hated Enishi >_<. He was soooo caught up on his sister alkfjdsflkhdsf. I mean, sure, his sisters dead and he's really upset but....you think he'd think it over a bit more and realize that she wouldn't want him to kill.....-shuts up before she spoils anything else-

whee Kenshin was one of my first mangas too. ^_^;; I think I have more kenshin mangas than any other series (which still isn't many, since I don't have a job )
I think I like Sanosuke best. He certainly got the best outfit. >_< Though I also really like Misao. X3 She reminds me of Yuffie of FF7. Particularly when you first meet her when she's stealing stuff. XD
=_= and I agree with your dislike of Megumi. Blah. o_o;; *doesn't remember who Enishi is* sweatdrop Hahaha... sweatdrop

Myrrddin whee Kenshin was one of my first mangas too. ^_^;; I think I have more kenshin mangas than any other series (which still isn't many, since I don't have a job ) I think I like Sanosuke best. My first manga and up to that date has been my favorite one, why? Because I need to progress, right now my favorite manga is One Piece and Fairy Tail, but Kenshin was my first manga and cant be forgotten that easily.
Its the best work in manga of all times related to real history and adding-on fantasy, the fights are very realistic and the techniques on are very traditional style too, holds on every type of warrior in that era, Samurais, Ninjas, Kunoichi Women, Kendo, Lancers, Swordsman, etc.
An easily 10/10 rating on it, its a terrible shame that not many people know about the last saga of the manga, the real purpose of the story, because it was animated....sad.

There are 28 volumes of the manga, with 255 Acts/Chapters. Yeah, the anime had 95 episodes.....or...was in 99.....o_O; I can't remember. sweatdrop The OVAs were amazing! Except for Reflections D'x I couldn't stand that one. And I definitely recommend finishing up the series, to me it's a must read heart 4laugh

I never read the manga, but Rurouni Kenshin was my very first Anime that I saw, and it's still one of my favorites, so I'll read the Manga too! biggrin

Borrowing the whole manga from a friend. I'm in volume 16 out of 28. I might read the novel too, but I think it's just a non-manga version. And I have other things to do then have a "KH Chain of memories" thing with Kenshin too. >.<
Can't put the stupid books down. I was up until like 2 or 3 this morning reading. (yeah I read slow, bite me)
