*dies* We moved the couch...found no less than eight milk jug rings underneath.

I've never bought my cats any toys because they have simple trash they like to play with. All my 5 cats enjoy playing with newspaper since they were little.
I'll pile up long sheets of newspaper and sort of lift them in the middle as a tent, I wiggle them a little bit and they just find them irresistible.
They'll jump on them, crawl under them, bite and rip them to shreds.
I also sew little pillows maybe 2 by 2 inches and stuff them with old fabric, cotton, or a little of catnip. I sew a long piece of yard to one end and I'll make them chase it. I tire before they do and they have lots of fun jumping and running around.
Max also enjoys the milk bottle ring. You know, when you take the cap off a milk gallon there's a ring on the bottom, I take them out and just throw them on the ground and Max will go crazy with them. She'll throw it in the air and chase it. Bite on it. Push it around the kitchen's chairs, ignore it and then pounce on it.
I also close all the doors in the hall way and leave my cats outside in the hallway while I'm in a room. I wiggle and pull on a newspaper beneath the rim of the door and they will try to catch it and grab it. I have wood floors, so there's a nice gap between the door and the floor. They'll even lie down to see where the paper's coming from and they will try to look inside the room through the gap. They're all so beautifully cute!

I also forgot to mention Tiny's favorite toy.
That's a stream of water. I know cats are supposed to hate water, but not Tiny.
Be it from a hose or a squirt gun, she likes to follow the little stream of water around. Even if she gets soaking wet, she will follow that stream of water until I run out of water. heart

Dolly's favorite toys are pistashio nuts, twist ties, pipe cleaners, and rugs. She'll play with her cat dancer every once in a blue moon. She'll carry cat n** mice to me but won't chase them when I throw them. She tends to prefer to play with them by herself.

I used to live with a cat, Larry, and he would sit at the sink and whine until you turned the faucet on. He would drink the water but also stick his whole head under in the stream. Hah.

Macray used to drink out of the faucet, though she was never much for getting herself wet.

I've discovered that an empty Kleenex box with an kind of small cat toy inside is good for hours of entertainment. Violet will pick up her toy mice and put them in the box and then stick her paws and head inside and roll around withe the box trying to get them out. Hilarious heart

The rabbit-fur mice are the biggest hit at my house. Lucky plays with them pretty much exclusively, and likes to pick them up and carry them around in his mouth and announce that he's "caught" something. He also likes tennis balls, because they're fuzzy and he can wrap around them and dig his feet in. One of his favorite games is to swat small objects into the floor from a table or shelf, so we put the mice up where he can swat them off. It's hilarious XD.

Stinky rarely plays with anything, but I can sometimes get him to attack one of the mice, and sometimes he'll play with a ribbon on a stick. His absolute favorite thing to do is scratch on cardboard boxes, and if he's able to he likes to get inside them and scratch on the insides.

Until he got fat and lazy, James loved to play with those shiny crinkle balls, and to a lesser extent any kind of small, ball-shaped objects. He is also a fan of the mice.

Clark is the only one who plays with the ball-in-the-track gizmo. He also loves this feather-boa-on-a-stick toy, and will actually drag it around the house in his mouth when no one is playing with him.

Best cat toy ever! My cats used to play with those all the time. We had to stop dropping them in the floor when I got my dog though.
