Well, in my opinion "God" is not the God everyone says he OR she is.

God should be AND is what YOU believe in.

Just because you believe in him, does not mean another person would.

Maybe the other person WILL believe in him OR her, just not in the same way you do.

God varies from person to person.

I guess the easiest way to describe it is as a figment of your imagination.

Though, it is so real to people, their God is real. Confusing, huh?

He is only what you make him to be.

Everyone pictures God differently.

Everyone believes he stands for different things.

I do believe in God. As do my friends in neighbors. However. . .

All Gods are different, as I said before.

God is NOT the same for everyone in the world.

God is for each individual alone.

When you sit and pray, you are not praying to the God of others.

You are solely praying to the God you want to believe in.

No one could argue with you if you said YOUR God is real.

However, if you are saying there is the same God for everyone and he is.

In your case, you are so very wrong.

I do believe that you believe in God and that he is real to YOU and you alone.

As for me, I have my own God and he is real to me.

No one can argue with this as these are my beliefs.

Each individual human has their own beliefs, therefore their own God. OR no God at all.

Opinions?

I just joined this Guild like a few seconds ago. If anyone could send me a PM and explain which forum icons are what or any other information, I'd appriciate that.

Thanks for your time!

Interesting point, but im not sure it applies to everyone or there would be no praying in masses. To me god is something to comfort people about death and sorrow. They feel better with the notion that there is someone protecting them in life and after.

I must say that I really, really appreciate your post.

Most people I talk to condemn me to hell for not going to church or believing in a God or God(s)/ Goddess.

I still have morality, despite what people seems to tell me. Before someone who is religious finds out that I am not religious, most people like me and think I am a good person. After they find out I am not religious, everything goes to pieces.

I am always open to hearing what people believe in, and I love studying religion. It's just not for me.

I never push my beliefs on people regarding religion, I only express what I believe in. I only ask for the same respect in return.

I believe that religion should always bring you peace and tranquility, no matter which one it is. There should never be a moment in which you feel guilty or bad for not going to a mass, sunday school class, or worship service. Religion, as previously stated, does indeed vary from person to person. I do not see any one religion as being "good" or "bad", matter of fact, there is no such thing as "good" or "bad" in this world, things are onyl different from each other. As for my own personal beliefs, I am a Zen Buddhist, I have not condemned western living, I still wake up everyday and go and join in with the hustle and bustle just like everyone else, I have not joined a monastery...although sometimes it does sound appealing! XD I do not believe in a "god" I do believe that everything in this world depends on everything else in this world to be in existence. I am also a BIG believer in Karma, which is why I try not to be a spiteful person, because I know it will come back to them on its own.

I just don't understand... I mean why would everything be left to one 'being'... People just can't handle the unknown... They need something... In my opinion the only thing a person needs is them selves... But thats me... People use 'God' as a source of hope... But it's all down to hard work... You make your own hope and if you need to put these hopes into something then I can understand that they use 'God'... But for me I just don't understand... And In my opinion I think it's better that way...

The concept of god does nothing more than cater to the fears of an intelligent mind that knows life is finite. Why continue to believe in Santa Claus?

Agreed! Religion is something people cling to to excuse their hatred and fear, and make themselves feel undeservedly superior, intelligent, and "good."
