*Kero's eyes are steel-grey...much unnerving those near him...and when Tam begins to play...he opens his mouth and sings...in a feline language, to be sure...but it is definitely a song...and not the normal yowling of a cat*

*There's nothing about the king that has Kero upset...but when Tam asks, he gets a sense of indignation...then he remembers...Kero's a cat...and no cat likes taking orders from a stranger*

tam chuckles... it wasn't an order, silly cat.... he was just speaking as a king would had he lived long long ago... and the page was teasing me... ye heard everyone laugh, right? actually it was a honor to play for the king... both now and then... ye earned many favors doing so... tam smiles at a passing wench who asks to pet his kitty....
fair maiden... i fear such a thing is beyond my grasp to grant... my cat doth have a mind of his own and he'd claw my eyes out if i pretend otherwise... i fear you will need ask him iffin you may touch his head....

the young girl, she must be about 13, is a capable ear scratcher and she soon has kero practically eating out of her hand... well... i need to go... she announces... almost time for the grand procession... are ye in it, bard... she asks with a toss of her hair...
tam shakes his head no... nay... i fear i must watch from the side, fair one... but i will cheer thee on... he adds with a smile....

tam decides he wants to look at the minstrel booth, where a craftsman sells hand crafted instruments.... at first kero finds it interesting... but four lutes, five mandnolins and three harps later, he finds himself near a display of small bone pipes bored out of his wits...

*Belatedly, he recalls a tune...a haunting melody...and snatching a pipe and fleeing with it in his mouth before the shopkeeper or Tam notices, he goes back to where the king is holding court...hiding himself, he begins to play...and the king finds himself getting up and dancing in front of the whole court...to be specific, he's doing riverdance...*

tams ears perk up almost instantly and he looks about for the cub... not seeing him he does a head smack and runs for the sound of the music... he drops beside the cub out of breath and glares at him, realizing he's in major trouble, the cub slowly lets the tune die away....
we are going home... now... says tam angrily... he gets up and brushes off his pants, then stares at kero until he joins him... they walk back to the apartment in silence.... tam fuming inside, not wanting to talk until he has calmed down....

*Kero's eyes are midnight blue...but he seems to be fairly calm...not all that afraid...his breathing is regular...and Tam finally calms down*

tam stops near a street bench and sits down... kero, what ye did was so very very wrong on so many different levels... i don't know where to begin... he says at last... he picks the cat up and hugs him close, burying his face in the dark sable fur... ye get the sense that he's very near to tears....
