tam set up his markers and waits for kero to do the same, cracking silly jokes and telling funny tales while he waits... none of them are long... and all are very funny... working his talent into his words, soothing the cub's sadness away...

tam eyes him thoughtfully.... do ye really need to know?... he sighs... ye tried to call salamanders... twice.... and turned a few of me feathers white i fear with one of the most beautiful swan dives a cat can make... all that on top of jumping off the roof top clinging to l. keor's neck before the sun was full up... no up drafts... ye both went down like rocks... lets see and ye did all this before lunch btw... yep... kept me hopping ye did... but yer in one piece... and relatively in yer right mind... i think... sometmes i think ye need two sitters.. not one....

heck... he wasn't doing anything bad, kero... just dangerous, because he was bored... i tried to distract him... and when that didn't work very well... i explained that calling fire and salamanders right now was very very bad idea and dangerous... he wanted to know why so i sort of told him.... i didn't say it would kill him just make him very sick and that i cared about him and would do all i can to keep him alive... fair enough... which lead to one of those interesting childhood questions btw....

Do you know if he was testing, or if he was just trying to entertain himself?

a bit of both, i believe... but ye need to remember... testing is good, kero... it teaches limits... and helps a child to learn to stand on two feet.. or four as the case may be... tam yawns... i don't know how ye do it... ye run me ragged all day long... then spend the night working on those equations of yers... don't ye ever rest? i mean really rest... why not take a break... ye figured out the last reagent, right... and we've some time before the new moon... go easy on yerself tonight....

Actually...I was testing to see how ye thought of me when I'm a kid.
I'm curious, Tam...as long as ye've been my babysitter, ye've only punished me once...are you super-patient, or what? Is there anything that would make you punish him...er, me...again?

tam sighs... i believe in punishment, kerobian... if necessary... but like me ma... it should fit the crime so to speak... heck we don't even beat criminals... why do people think it is perfectly fine to beat on kids... as for is there anything that wold make me do it... yeah.. a few... and i guess ye can say it all boils down to was it done on purpose with the intent to harm or injure another... either physically or emotionally... iffin ye tried to hurt some on purpose with the intent to truly harm them... yeah... ye'd get spanked... fair enough?
