Kaylene smiled. "That.... is almost funny... but he should be more careful... here let me help you up." Kaylene helped him to his feet. She was eager to make sure Mercutio was okay, but she didn't want to put Denji's life in danger...

Denji fell back down and transformed. It drained all the strength out of him. He curled up weakly on the ground and let out a small meow.

Kaylene sighed and picked up Denji carefully. "Don't worry I'll carry you... you got to rest..." She walked out of the graveyard and headed toward where they had left Mercutio. "Mercutio? Impa? Where are you?" She called lightly. it was getting late, but the storm clouds didn't help either. so it was pretty dark. She stifled a cry when she stubbed her toe on a chicken coop fence.

"Impa was there in a flashed, catching her with her free arm. Her face was emotionless, even in the dark, he called see his wounds. "Let's trade cats.. I have Mercutio right here. He's fine, just exhausted."

Kaylene nodded and handed Denji to Impa. She took Mercutio and smiled. He wasn't burning up anymore and seemed to be breathing easy. "Oh thank heavens.." She then followed Impa back to the house. She took Denji to his room and Kaylene went to hers. "You can sleep with me tonight... don't worry.. I don't snore." She smiled. She changed into her nightgown then curled up beside Mercutio. She didn't pay attention to see if he was awake or not, but she felt him wiggle a bit. "Mercutio... I'm glad you are safe... I don't know what I would do if I lost you.." She stroked his ears, her eyes closed. "I think... I have overcome my fear...It isn't as scary as i thought... I actually enjoy it." She then yawned. "Somu was wrong... falling in love is wonderful... not dangerous..."

Mercutio curled beside her head and licked her cheek before snuggling up close. He felt so much better now, just a little tired if anything.

However when the cat licked her cheek, she was already fast alseep so she didn't know that he heard her confession of love for him.

Kaylene blinked her eyes as daylight poured into her room. She yawned and then smiled feeling Mercutio next to her. "Good morning...." She mumbled as she let her feet touch the cold floor. After sliping her slippers on she grabbed her brush and began to comb her long straight hair. She sighed. "darn.. there always has to be a knot I can't see or reach..." She tugged at a lock of her hair that was tangled wince as she tugged a little too hard.

Mercutio slowly opened his eyes, only to find that he had transformed sometime during the night. He was human again. "I'll be checking on Denji..." He muttered quietly and went into Denji's room. There was blood on the bed, but Denji was no where to be found.

When Mercutio didn't come back, Kaylene thought something was wrong. she managed to get the tangle and brushed her hair aside. She walked toward Denji's room and saw Mercutio staring. "Mercutio... last night Escalus was here.. He cut up Denji pretty bad... and he said if I tried to heal him..." She looked away. "I'm sorry... I tried to stop him... I couldn't save Denji from getting hurt... now he's in so much pain... I'm such a failure..." She whispered. She wiped up her tears and turned to leave. "I'm sorry... just... ignore me... I can't even keep my emotions straight..."

That explained the blood, but where was the boy himself? He nodded, then walked downstairs. Thankful, Denji was down there, speaking to Impa. His face was covered with bandages, done loosely so only the bleeding was stopped, not the scarring. Mercutio let out a sigh of relief. Denji looked like he was going to be alright.
He then returned to Kaylene and hugged her tightly. "No, it's alright... someone treated him..."

She sighed glad to know he was at least going to be okay. "Did you sleep well last night?" She turned back around to face Mercutio. She felt a little embarressed. She saw it fine when he slept with her as a cat... but if was in his human form... she felt a little awkward. If people knew back in her village... they would spread nasty rumors about her. But she tried not to let it bother her. She enjoyed having his strong body next to her, keeping her safe and warm. She wished he would do it more often, but there was no way she would come out and say it.
((Hmmm.... I think Shadow may play a part in this... > biggrin though would it be Shadow Link or Shadow Denji???))

Kaylene shook her head. "No I slept wonderfully last night... It was very comfortable with you next to me..." She gave him a small smile, her cheeks flushed bright pink.
