The boy hums as he works, something new he has begun to do since he's been given the ability to hear. It isn't exactly on key, but he sounds very content. He quickly chops up the vegetables and asks if there is anything else he should do.

The boy nods and goes outside, giving the empty couch an odd look. Keva is still missing.

He doesn't exactly find him though he does get a sense of direction... north... Now why would he have gone there... that is the direction of the abandoned merc camp?

Nothing has changed since he and Bez have left it. Other than the huts being a little more open to the wind and some of the camp litter being pulled down the beach a bit due to a rather high tide at some point or another, things look pretty much the same. He doesn't appear to have made it this far and indeed when Kero scans back towards the cavern homes, he gets a sense of Keveka's location, not quite mid-point to where he is at.

*cute... he's not going to answer ye...**

But even as the words slip from his lips, Kero realizes something is terribly wrong. Keva is lying sprawled on the ground, half into his fox form, half his humanoid shape... unconscious... or rather eyes opened but not seeing... unfocused... how long he has laid there, no one knows.

Passura is the first to arrive, stumbling to a halt and collapsing as he reaches Kero and the unresponsive Keveka.

"I knew it... I knew it... I knew something was wrong... I did this, mes'sirrah... it's all my fault!"

Tam, arriving just in time to hear his words raps him lightly on the head and tells him no, "Nay, little one... you did not but free him from his chains. Spirits need confines or they eventually dissipate. Had he listened to Kero about the globe, he'd be perfectly fine... I suspect my little brother chose instead to experiment or procrastinate... Knowing Kev... the latter is the more likely story. Kero, can ye reach him?"

It doesn't take Kerobian long before he begins to realize that he is in over his head, adrift without a paddle. For the harder he looks for that illusive sense of self, the crazier his environment becomes. It is as though he was made of a tacky substance and picking up memories that clamor for his attention. Finally, he pulls back out, fearing to damage the young kitsune even more. He relunctantly opens his eyes to tell Tam it is no use, when he catches sight of Amestru, kneeling at Keveka's side, interrogating Passura in a calm quiet manner. And Tam is talking to Jor and Paladin, explaining to them a bit of what he knows so far. It doesn't seem like any time at all has gone by, but from the position of the sun, he sees he has been inside the youth for several hours.

Amestru stands up and comes over to him. "Actually, if what Pasa tells me is true, ye've already found him... or parts of him... " The old wolf sighs and shakes his head. "And ye've the mental scent of him all over yer thoughts."
