I'm going to have to say both. I love a good story and good art.

I go for storyline, mostly because it hits me better than the art. But the art gives me attraction to actually want to read the story. So it's a give or take deal for me at the most.

i think both the art and the story are important. when i buy a yaoi, i look at the art work and then i read the back. if the storyline is good, i buy it. i'd rather read about 2 hot guys going at it then 2 incredibly badly drawn ones. dramallama

It really depends. I usually like to go for both. I like seeing really pretty art (that I like) in a story, because there are only very few times I can read manga or watch anime with horrible art. But if the storyline is really good, I'll take it. As long as the artt's semi-decent, it's alright. I usually pass up those that dont' fit my standarts of art though. And I can't read a story with beautiful art and no story. It's a waste of talent. If it's one-shots, it's got to have something. I can't read a manga without a story. I might flip the pages, but I can't stand reading somethign like that.

I personally think both are important. I'd have to say the storyline is more important though. If it has a good story than I'll read it to the finish. If not I won't bother reading the rest. I don't think art should be the dominating factor in weather or not something is good or not, however, I do think that art has a lot to do with someone liking the book as a whole. I think it needs to have a balance simply because it is meant for the pleasure of looking and reading. Because it's manga we see the characters whereas in a novel you create them in your minds eye according to the description. I think the art should be created in a way that would make someone want to just stare at the picture.
Woops is it too in depth?

I would say both. I don't like Yaoi without a story and if it's simply sexual act (except for the fact, I just wanna see something like that), but I also dislike it, when the Yaoi mangas are drawn in a bad style. Bad Art is an absolute No No for me.

If the story is good enough, I can ignore bad art.

Both are important, but it really depends. If a good story has not-so-great art, I can usually finish it despite it being aesthetically unappealing. On the other hand, if a not-so-great story has really, really good art, I'll usually hang on to it because of the art.
It goes without saying, then, that in my opinion great art with a great story is the best, and poor art with a weak story is just... blah.

The story is very important for me if it comes with art, even better ... The art doesnt really matter ,but, if it happens to come with art...why should I complain.
