Glam, that's horrible. But I had someone do that to me to via PM once. sad He most likely wanted to get a rise out of you, the little troll.
Teens--and let's face it, a lot of adults are guilty of this too--don't get that people can express their opinions without it having to be about converting anyone or being a debate. It's OK to not think the same thing as anyone else. confused

I find it really amusing when they say they're "mature for their age" and when you turn them down they throw a tantrum.

Glam- I have to admire you for how you handle such ignorant insults. I suppose the inner nasty side of me would want to retort back with "least I'm not an inbred cracker!"
No offense to white folks... but I never really got offended being called a cracker... I know it's meant as an insult but -shrugs- I'm the other white meat anyway (aka slavic/eastern european descent, not standard whitey)
I always cringe when I hear about the kiddos drinking and doing drugs. Funny thing was I was fishing in the 21+ today and I think everyone this time actually was 21+, and no one drank. All of us had either never caught one, one guy who was a recovering alcoholic (or something of that nature) and pretty much we were all of age but passed. Nothing against people who drink. But it annoys me that teens think underaged drinking and getting plastered makes them "cool".

Haha...it took all the courage I had not to go nuts. sweatdrop I'm a bit on the emotional side, sometimes. Sadly, I tapped into my inner child a few days ago when another younger Gaian decided she hated my profile and my face. (I believe the term she used was "uglyest profile...and..."uglyest b***h"--and she seriously spelled it that way.) Y'know...instead of saying "ugh" and moving on, she had to let me know and ruffle my feathers. What timing. rolleyes So I simply deleted the comment she made and created a little hateful ode to her. I'll eventually remove it....probably. I knew she was a total child because in the fear that the big black scary lady would reply; she blocked me. lol Ah well. I figured eventually someone or some people would decide that my crazed profile with scattered pics and media would be crap. biggrin But it didn't make me change it. The pics and media remain as a reflection of my style.

The classic kid question. I tried to scare them off with my age, but that doesn't seem to work at time. =/

wink They're going for that "older person" appeal. They think since you're older than them, you've had more "experience"...lol. I suppose it goes into textual terms as well... lol kinda sad....

With some of these posts, it makes me feel like lying about my age and saying that I am nearly 34 instead of nearing 24 (though mentally I am probably that age.). I hate it when kids call me lucky when I mention that I got kicked out my house at 16. And despite the fact I had already graduated high school, they don't realise how hard it is to get a pad or vehicle at that age.
Earlier I was told that I take the internet too seriously. And here I thought it was a way to talk to people, especially when you can't get out much.

A little while ago I was in the Blackjack rooms and I was having a chat with a friend, and once in a while we'd drop a few PG-13+ words.
Me, to her: Think we'd get reported for swearing?
One girl took this as her cue to show she was *totally* grown-up enough to handle a little swearing. She proceeded to let loose a string of eff-bombs and racial slurs, and then she started to talk about how much she *loooooved* sex but she hated going down on guys, since she was (DIRECT QUOTE) "a damn lesbain."
Later I checked her profile and it turned out she was 14 stressed xd
What's the deal with these kiddies, wanting to seem so outrageous?

My thoughts on that is that it is a way to make them stand out and to have all the attention focused on them. What they fail to realize is that all the attention that they are getting isn't necessarily good...

AuraLynRose My thoughts on that is that it is a way to make them stand out and to have all the attention focused on them. What they fail to realize is that all the attention that they are getting isn't necessarily good... Even then, the attention is worthless online. When it comes down to it, you're all a bunch of strangers. Lesser than strangers, even, as you can't even see each other, much less initiate any sort of physical contact. It's so bizarre.

It breaks my heart that kids really think being "bad" is the way to make a statement. This isn't just todays kids, it's adolescents since... forever.
That's what nails you in the heart, they think that drinking, sleeping around, cussing, stealing stuff, doing drugs, etc makes them "mature", "cool", or fabulous in some way.
When I was a teen my method of standing out was to wear something off, not as in dress in all black (like everyone does) or wear something ridiculous (too much, you're trying too hard). I just dressed a little... off on occassion. Also I just made my own lingo, lemme tell ya, 40s mobster lingo is the cat's meow even today, and the fuzz will never come down on yous for it.
My friends and I mostly channeled our adolescent need for attention and "maturity" into our arts. We wrote poems, stories, drew awesome drawings, and my friend Tiara even composed music. We gathered around in a circle and shared the fruits of our labor--now that was fantastic.
A few kids do that, not many...

That's the really ironic thing. That's all stuff -- well, maybe not the stealing -- that is looked at as "grown-up," but people who do that are absolutely immature. Cussing is, well, whatever, but it's the kids in their rebellious age who do it the most. They think they look so much older, so tough, so untouchable, but they're so inconsiderate, irresponsible and obnoxious that it really puts them back in their place, age-wise.
