My name is Matt Ive been teaching myself katakana for a while now. I have a hirigana book but decided to learn katakana first. Ive been intrested in Japanese history/culture since I was a little child. Me and my grandma used to have long conversations about it and the Samuri and stuff like that. she's such a great support.

Hajimemashite! Watashi no namae wa Yolanda desu. Jyuu go sai desu. Koo koo ichinensei desu. Watashi no kazoku wa san-nin desu. Chichi to haha to watashi desu. Shumi wa piano to dansu desu. Anime ga daisuki desu yo! Manga mo daisuki desu. Doozo Yoroshiku Onegaishimasu!
Roughly Translated:
How do you do? My name is Yolanda. I am 15 years old. I am in the first year of high school (aka. Grade 10. Well...I'm going into grade 11 after the summer). There are 3 people in my family. My father, my mother and myself. My hobbies are piano and dance. I love anime a lot! I also love manga. Nice to meet you! (lit. Please accept me into your good graces).
More stuff in English:
I've only taken Japanese for one year ^^;; but I hear it a lot in anime which helps me with vocab and grammar. I can also speak fluent Mandarin, but I can't read it or write it. I love both languages, though. I can't wait to learn more!
Jya mata ne! (See you!)

It's my language.. and I went to Japanese school until last year and started at the same time my regular American schooling started.

Soreto watashi wa soreyorimo motto nihongo de shabetta houga iidesuka? [btw should I be speaking more than that in Japanese?]

Hello! My name is Aio, and I am really glad I found this guildI have been trying to learn because- 1)I love anime, and I think it would be alot better for me to be able to read the Japanese version of Manga and 2)So when I am with mu firends and they say something like 'Konichwa' I can respond with something really long and knock their socks off. ^_^

Hey everyone. Welcome to the guild. I am glad many of you are here to learn and improve your Japanese skills. Post as much as you want. There are no "stupid" questions and I think a lot of us want your translation challenges! I have had experience living in Japan (country-side) and have learned about working in the Japanese business office/town halls. If you need ANY help at all (or even job suggestions) by all means PM or create a thread so that all us Gaians here can help!
Have a good time learning and growing!
