That was too close for comfort, but at least he escaped whatever it was that lunged out at him. Red let out a sigh in relief, but it was far too soon for that it seemed. Turning his head forward, he finally felt the ground sliding from under him. Instinctively, his hooves start to peddle backwards; a frantic effort to stop himself... or at least slow down. No good. He started to add his wings, frantically flapping his wings to see if that would help. His efforts doubled when he noticed what he was quickly approaching. Oh great. He inwardly cursed his decision, his hooves still scrambling backwards. "In the case I land in the water, please grant me passage." The permission was spit out fast, a last minute addition that Red highly doubted would work, even if he did manage to splash into the waters of the bog. Right now, his mind was mostly worried about stopping. Please stop. Please stop. By the spirits... please... stop!!!

You're literally running blind and you're sure you can feel the apparition’s claws inches away from your tail when the ground goes out from under you and you're sent tumbling. You come to a stop at the bottom in a meadow, bruised and with twigs poking you uncomfortably. At least you seem to have lost what was chasing you and can take a minute to rest.

You continue into the darkness. Flickers of light through the trees to the sides of you make it look like you're being watched, and every hoofbeat seems to echo. Abruptly the ground seems to drop out under you and you're sliding down a steep hill!
You reach the bottom, a bit more bruised than you started, but nothing really hurt but your pride. You find yourself in a small meadow--a strange sight in a swamp--but the ground here seems soft and stable. You feel like it's safe to take a minute to recover your breath.

Your hooves flail as you desperately make the jump, but you manage to clear the hole. Phuef! That was a close one! Below you is a steep hill that leads to a bog. It doesn't look like you can go forward that way, you'll have to turn around.

Your hooves flail as you desperately try to stop, but you manage to skid to a stop before landing in the bog. Phuef! That was a close one! Before you is a bog that stretches in either direction flanked by trees too thick to navigate through. It doesn't look like you can go forward that way, you'll have to turn around.

Looking around the meadow, at first you don't see anything that seems special when a strange glimmer catches your eye. Investigating, you find a pearly stone! It doesn't seem to serve any purpose, but it's sure pretty. You decide to keep it. Maybe it'll come in handy somehow.
The Kitsune looks around at everyone, taking in who's left. They take a deep breath and let it out.
"We'll rest here briefly just in case anyone else is able to catch up to us." They say, and sit down among their wisps to pull twigs out of their fur.











Oh no! You got lost and were swallowed by the darkness! Don't worry though, you'll just appear at the entrance to the swamp, but you've been eliminated!

Starry Sunrise wrinkled her nose a bit at the bog below. Good thing she hadn't gone further... Would have been bad news for her.
Slowly she turns and starts heading another direction.

Solenglyphouse was busy investigating the pearl when the kitsune’s voice surprised her. Her eyes narrowed looking over them. Twigs everywhere. She smiled and went back to investigating her pearly stone in the open. “This isn’t an herb but it’s pretty.” Rolling it between her claws she liked how it caught the light and had a pearl like glow to it. She could see others around her and recognized a few from the start. That made her feel better.

Resting briefly

Luna was thankful to have escaped the danger. She knew she couldn't fully relax but the meadow was peaceful. The pearly stone they had found was pretty perhaps it would bring the group some luck.
