Age had cooled his fiery attitude considerably. In his youth he would have dismissed this whiney male like the peasant he presented himself to be, but his experiences taught him that letting people speak their minds, no matter how idiotic a mind it may be, usually resulted in more content shinobi. That being said, this 'Shadow' was truly starting to grate on his nerves. Based on context clues, he gathered that Jay and Jeon were trying to acertain his allegiences while the accosted person did not seem to grasp the situation at hand. Sure, his loyalty to the land of his birth was admirable. Belamos could even understand it! His loyalty to Otogakure was eternal afterall. But the village wasn't the locale, or the buildings- it was the people! Otogakure lives on in Arashigakure. Perhaps one day the Village Hidden in the Sound will live again, but until that day it's culture is celebrated within the Storm Village.
Shadow's inability to recognize that was what annoyed the Sun Prince. Furthermore, his whining over past military injustices was akin to a child railing on that the rules weren't fair. He felt no sympathy for the fate of Kirigakure. He had always considered it a weak village that bore unexceptional Shinobi- Takumi notwithstanding. When Jeon mentioned the fact that the door was closed, Belamos merely nodded his head in agreement. No more was needed than that.
Apparently, he wasn't the only one bothered so, for Jay and Jean quickly broke into a series of tag-team berations of Shadow that made even Belamos smirk with pride. It seemed they were embracing the role of joint leaders well. While he did not think they would ever measure up to Shiro's capability for the job their attitude towards potential threats was definitely still the same. That was why it did not surprise him at all when Jay immediately questioned his own loyalty after concluding his business with the form Mist Ninja.
At this, he finally arose and walked to the center of the room. He stood before the desk of the Arashikage's and shifted his gaze between the twins before finally settling it on Jeon, the last one to speak. He drew himself up, squaring his shoulders and exuding the regality he was so famously known for amongst his people...but as quickly as it came, it was gone. Like a star that collapsed under it's own weight, leaving behind a black hole. His shoulder's sagged, his jaw relaxed and the fiery determination in his eyes was replaced by one of silent resignation "I used to think it was my destiny to rule, the be a King to my people. I was groomed for leadership all of my life. Yet, before I could fulfill my destiny, my nation was subjugated under the UHV. I was treated as worse than dirt- an example of the very thing they fought against living amongst them. No matter how strong I became, it didn't seem to matter. Even when I had the chance to be rid of them, it cost me nearly everything to do so..."
The Twin's were one of the few people privy to the knowledge of his encounter with the President and how Belamos had been forced to destroy his village in order to prevent the destruction of much of the Allied Coalition's forces- something he had tried to keep secret since it came to pass.
"My ambition to rule is no more. I am not fit to assume the mantle of command. I need to earn that right back, to prove to myself and my people that I have what it takes to be their King. More importantly, I have a family now. My only priority is to see to the safety of Aurelia and Tsukina." He hesitated as if he were unsure of what to do next. Perhaps the last vestiges of his pride were raging inside of him, trying to force him to stop speaking "I...cannot speak for my wife. But provided they and the former Citizens of Otogakure remain safe behind these walls, I will fight for you" At this, he exhaled deeply. It was clear he was not overly happy with his choice, yet he was one he had made himself. The Sun Child had a lot to think about, and there were worse places to do it than Arashigakure
Reaching inside of his robes, he withdrew a scroll and tossed it to Jean "However, this brings me to why I am here. You have a problem" At this, Belamos removed the travelers cloak he wore and tossed it onto the back of the chair nearest him, revealing his standard red tunic and vest "I have been searching for the Yonbi. Prior to their destruction, the demon was heavily sought after by the UHV. It always managed to evade them, but I fear now that it's days of living passively in the mountains have passed" As the Twins unrolled the scroll they would find a map detailing the movements of the demon as well as a projected path showing it would soon, likely, enter the Stormlands soon. "I tracked the beast and found it in the low foothills. It's headed this way and I intend to stop it. I simply wished to come and warn you guys in case you two needed to take any precautionary measures to protect the people of your nation who dwell outside of these walls." Their desire to assist him or not mattered little to him- it had been his plan all along to take on the Yonbi and force it into submission by himself. His appearance here was simply one borne out of consideration for the smallfolk of the land, no more, no less.

Minus one Kenshin, minus one Mizuiki, and Yukimura finally took his leave of the office as well. The pair of them were now, presumably, alone with Belamos who had been at least cordial enough not to cut in or have an outburst in the midst of their handling of the situation. Even if Jeon had to stifle her amusement by offloading it to her demonic otherworld. He showed everything he felt in his face: it was hard not to sometimes and that was a reason for them to be glad for the psyche plan giving them perfect poker faces. And what was more, he was at least being reasonable... logical about this whole thing. When he finished the first part of his statement both of the twins shook their head. "No. You won't fight for us, or under us Belamos. You'll be fighting with us. With your people. All of them, Cloud, Mist, and of course Sound. I believe we need a second advisor regardless. Welcome, officially." As he finished speaking, the headband was slid to him across the table.
On to the true nature of his visit, it would seem. While he was gone, he'd made quite the discovery, and while they themselves had recently acquired a demon, he hadn't actually been a part of the process and had no idea. At that they nodded, looking over the map. "I'm glad to see your sabbatical bore fruit. I'll have someone dispatched to aid you in stopping it. You'll forgive me if I can't go, and neither can my brother. Nonsense on the homefront, as it were. I suppose we will need to consider a host. Hmm." A thought occurred, shared in the minds of the newly minted hosts. "How about you, Belamos?"

He accepted that headband with the resignation that a voluntary prisoner accepted his shackles. His supposed advisory role did little to change the situation as he saw it, nor did the Kages' claim that he would be seen as an equal amongst them. He would yet again serve another- impose their will on the world instead of his own. Yet if this was the price he must pay for his past mistakes and his family's future he would do so gladly. He stared at the headband's metallic surface for a moment before slipping the piece into his pocket, completely unsure of how he should wear it.
As Jay and Jean commented on his discovery of the Yonbi, Belamos could not help but raise an eyebrow in question. While, yes, he had always intended to take the beast's power for himself he had doubted the pair would condone it. Had he been in their places, he would not have been so kind...then again, perhaps they were 'rewarding' him for joining their cause. He knew not, nor did he care. Instead, he extended a finger into the air spoke as a small mote of flames appeared on the end of his finger "I agree. The Yonbi uses Lava to attack, and as you may know, heat poses no threat to me. My wife and I will be all that's required to subdue the beast" Suddenly, the fire the burned on top of his finger began to shift in color, changing from bright golden flame to one of pure blackness "What you do not know, but now have the right to, is that I possess other abilities than is common knowledge. Tsuki and those skilled enough to push me in battle are aware of this, but I can also freely control and summon Light. Combine light with fire..." The ever-changing hued flame on his finger winked out, and in its place spun a miniature replica of the Sun, a scant one inch in diameter "... and the source of my nickname is born"
He ended his display and crossed his arms over his chest before addressing the Kage's once more "I have heard about some internal threats to the village while I have been in the Stormlands. Nothing specific, but enough to peak my interest. Care to share?"

Jeon was visibly a bit perturbed at the man's... downtrodden nature. She so wished that her mind could wrap around other people's. Shadow had said, in so many words, that they were being unrealistic in their administration of the situation. Jay had been outwardly bothered by that, just the same as she had chosen to internalize her response and vent it through him. Her face returned to a polite and jovial rest quickly, wishing she'd chose to internally deal with it as well but not wanting to face the Gyuki's taunts. One day, she held on to hope that Belamos would see his place here was just as important as he had wanted it to be. There were just more people around him. People who had less an interest in using and more one in being an ally to. Jay sat back a bit, crossing his legs on the seat and reading over the reports that they had missed while Jeon spoke to Belamos.
It was very sudden when Jay stood up with enough force that his stone seat fell over. Steam puffed out of his nostrils, ozone filling the room's scents... overpowering. He took his greatsword, bowing in apology for the noise and sudden movements to Belamos just after he finished showing his power, which for the record had stolen his attention and made him smile almost challengingly. Why hadn't they had the great experience of learning of this before? Another issue. He turned and formed a single seal, darkblue lightning seeming to light up the room and sky in a flash as the male twin disappeared, leaving behind the open report.
Jeon, for her worth, didn't hide her amusement with the lightshow; always easy to impress even if her attention was easily shifted around. Before Jay had took off, she had started to speak herself. "Oh, ok bye Jay..." she spoke, eyes coming over the paper that had clearly irritated him. She pursed her lips, closing it before she took got irritated. Heavens and Hells couldn't save the little girl from the tongue lashing Jeon woulda gave her... but her father was rarely angry enough to scold her save for few occasions: disrespecting her mother, herself, and potentially harming herself or others. Without too much thought on the matter she only imagined La Chancla flying across a room at the girl.
Poor kid.
Back to Belamos Jeon offered a toothy grin. "Well, the monkeys once called us Wukong and Goku after some mythical monkey sage... we evidently were just as brash and... destructive as he was. But things have changed. We have changed... in fact we have been away learning to control a new power... one that made it impossible for us to mold natural energy." Lightning buzzed between her fingers, dark red and boldly powerful. "They've taken to calling us something else entirely now. I think... Jay is Zeus, and I Thor." She shrugged and flicked away the electricity. Kindred spirits they were.
"As for the drama and strife within the walls... well as you may well have known their has been tension between all of the citizen groups, Kumo and Kiri formers on one side, and all those from states formerly in the control of the UHV on the other. Fear is a powerful start point for hatred and conflict. I suppose those three things form a powerful triangle." She hopped down, a bit beside herself, antsy as usual, and walking to the reports folder, glancing page to page after Yuno's transgression. "It appears as though the former military of Otogakure has formed a bit of a... response to the elements of the mist and cloud citizens and shinobi that treat them like secondary citizens. Escalating tensions from their protests... and they've been either linked intrinsically or extrinsically to some... startling acts of pure terrorism. The most recent was a boming of my home. Lucky my children weren't the ones who came across them." The threat to whoever was behind it was clear in how her voice came out harshly.
She swore in her native tongue.
"That's making it extremely difficult for the police to help. The more people join this group and continue like this, the more Cloud and Mist will go to the extreme. The APD and CORE are doing their damnest to police those who have made life even a little harder on the Oto, Yuki, Ame, and Kusa citizens. But this can't go unanswered. It's actually worrisome." She looked at him and shook her head. "Either way, this demon is a larger priority for now. Tsuki helped seal the Eight Tails away inside me and Jay - Oh wait yeah. That happened." She shrugged a bit, as if that weren't a huge thing. "But yeah, she and you should be plenty enough to handle it. Yukimura! Hold the office for us. Organize everything in here for me so I can dive in when I get back please. Come, let's go see if we can't find your wife, yeah?"
What luck~ The office wasn't crowded as Kagerou had feared. She did hope that the relatively empty state didn't mean she was terribly late, but now was too late for that sort of regret. With a relaxed smile on her face, she didn't seem all too bothered by the idea of being late, either.
After greeting the receptionist on duty, Kagerou requested to know if there were any missions that needed attention... or if maybe all of the concerns that had prompted the earlier announcement calling in all D-rank and above shinobi to the kage's spire have already been covered by those that came earlier. Kagerou wouldn't mind either or.

They had the Gyuki eh? Not surprising. He had heard a rumor the beast was tracked down, but he knew not by who. It makes sense the leader of the village would harness the greatest power for themselves, nor could he fault them for it. They were new to the job, relatively speaking, and could have likely used the power boost to give themselves some additional credibility with respect to their position.
He wasn't disturbed by Jay's sudden disappearance but he did find the whole spectacle overly dramatic. He wasn't fond of such grandiose displays of showmanship, preferring to let people imagine what he could do to them instead of outright display it. Still, it was important that they had at least a simple understanding of his capabilities, even if he had chosen to retain the lion's share of information to himself.
Upon hearing about the problems borne of the former citizens of Otogakure, Belamos finally looked a bit perturbed. He brought his thumb to his mouth and ran it over his lips, holding his chin as he did when we thought. "Hmmm" He hummed out as he poured over the issue. It was likely these....people, were only doing as he would have done in his youth. While their loyalty, and tenacity, were appreciated, they were unneeded. The former military states of the UHV considered him to be their savior and regarded him as a hero. He could likely settle this before it escalated "I will deal with it when I return." Was all he would say on the subject. When Jeon proposed they go retch Tsuki, he motioned for her to lead the way and then fell in line.

According to the receptionist, all necessary jobs had been handed out. However, Kagerou did receive orders to station herself at the hospital. Perfect, she was planning to do that if she didn't have to report to anywhere. After thanking the receptionist, Kagerou bid a, "Have a good day," and turned to leave.
Before she even took a step, however, a streak of yellow flashed past her, preceded only by the loud "bang" of a sudden, panicked opening of a door, specifically the door that led to the kages' office. One look at the receptionist, and Kagerou understood that there wasn't an emergency occurring further inside the spire, so this was the case of a... very nervous genin? Something of that sort? Well, if that was all it was, and the ever calm Kagerou was used to hearing about such occurrences after having someone like Jack as Mizukage, then that was okay. She was about to start stepping again to leave peacefully when there was a sequel to the incident, introduced by a scream and consisting of a veritable cacophony of thuds, crashes, and... most worryingly, crunches.
She had been worried to begin with, Kagerou was the kind that, if she managed to catch up with the stranger, would have asked what was wrong, but now she was alarmed with worry. With quick steps, she exited the waiting room and followed the stares of the crowd to find the blonde head that had whizzed by just earlier turned into a crumpled and bleeding mess at the bottom of the stairs surrounded by a muttering crowd that looked like they were searching for someone, probably a medic.
Trotting down the stairs, jumping would have been quicker, but there wasn't enough space to land with the crowd around the body, Kagerou announced the arrival of such a medic, "I'm a practiced surgeon, please let me through," as she approached the body and knelt besides it.
Her hands worked quickly upon the injured, gently changing his position so that he lay flat on his back while being careful to not cause further damage. She checked for a pulse. It was there. Breathing. Yep. Damage. Pretty heavy. A quick run of the diagnosis eiseijutsu to understand the full extent of such damage told her what she needed. He was going to need a hospital, and that was when Kagerou's eyes lifted from the emergency patient to scan the crowd.

Today was finally the day she worked up the nerve to request her squad assignment. All of this was cut short with a young man falling down the stairs. In seconds there was a crowd and she was lost in the middle of it, unable or unwilling to speak up over the murmurs. She had no real ability to help, what could she do? Only hope that he would end up OK under the guidance of the surgeon that came to his aide. What could little Suzume do beyond going about her day?

What could Suzume do? She was about to find out when Kagerou's red eyes locked with the child's golden eyes. "You," Kagerou called out gently, her hands motioning for the girl to come to her, "Yes, you. Could I ask you to chaperone me, pretty please?".
The eyes of the medic were already back on her patient, hands glowing an earthy green as she staunched the bleeding on the boy's head with a minor healing hands. The leg was far more worrying, but out of fear that it could be a compound fracture, Kagerou couldn't risk healing the limb incorrectly.
Suzume received further explanations as Kagerou lay out a scroll in front of the laid out victim, "There's no need to be nervous, I just need you to accompany me to the hospital so the crowd here can rest assured that I'm not trying to steal away this child and so that the hospital can receive an eye witness account about what happened." She spoke kindly and with a small, encouraging smile despite the urgency of the situation.
Her nimble fingers, on the other hand, worked with all of said urgency, swiftly moving about before as they carefully laid Christian out and even now as Kagerou selected a blank scroll from her inventory and unfurled it in front of her. A brush she had pulled out with the scroll tapped rhythmically upon the floor as she took a moment to remember what she had studied just the night before, and after hitting upon the desired memory after sieving through several other newly memorized seals, Kagerou drew out the inscriptions with smooth, efficient strokes. The entire process, from memory to paper, couldn't have taken more than a minute. Compared to learning a couple S+ rank techniques in 30 minutes, this was almost as easy as pie. With a newly inscribed Body Sealing Technique in front of her, Kagerou cast the hand seals and gently tapped the inscription in front of her to release a cloud of smoke that covered the absorption of the unconscious patient into the seal. With the hurt party safely ensconced within a scroll, and said scroll safely stowed away on Kagerou's person, Kagerou turned to the young girl she had picked out from the crowd and, smiling as amiably as before, asked, "Well then, are we ready to go?".
Presumably, the answer would be yes and the two would leave for the hospital. Well, three if we count the limp body in the scroll.

Her? What?! Her?! Nononono! This train of thought led to Suzume shaking her little head even before Kagerou could even finish her sentence. Why was she needed to chaperone?! She nudged her way through the crowd, made easier by them parting as it was clear who the medic was talking to, staying far enough away to not get any blood on her yukata.
Things seemed to make enough sense, except for Suzume also being stolen away too, but that was silly. She'd just nod, maybe jump in fright when the scroll went off, poofing Christian away in smoke and noise. It was a shaping up to be a hell of a first day. The smile put a bit at ease on the outside, but Suzu knew that Kagerou was only smiling to help her relax, and frankly it didn't as she took off with her to the hospital.

[x]Tch. Evidently something was lost in translation. Why did I even try? This wasn't Kiri, as much as the twins kept trying to claim it as such. This was some conglomeration of people that didn't want to be there. That were forced out of their homes and told to be loyal or become vagrants. And I hated the thought. But the answer was clear. Either I took that headband, or I would have to leave. I guess I couldn't even live as a citizen of the city. Maybe I knew too much. I honestly didn't even trust them to just let me leave; I would be made an example of, more than likely, Which meant I had to be on guard. In the meanwhile, I had to figure out what I was going to do from here out, and likely get out before they could choose what they were going to do to me.
I was dismissed without much else, other than words to think on. My mind wasn't swayed so easily. But I needed answers. There weren't many people that I could trust anymore. I would need to find the courage to face the one person who knew even an inkling about me.
I didn't like the look the man who barged in, Belamos apparently, gave me at all. He was looking down on me, even though he new nothing. It seemed he was being asked a similar question, but I had no intention of sticking around to hear his answer.
I took my time heading back down the stairs. Its not like I had anything better to do, since I hadn't even been able to get a word in as to why I was there. Ah well, maybe I would head to the forge or something while I decided my fate. Though somehow I got the impression I wouldn't even be welcome there. I supposed none of this was anything new. I'd always been the outcast after all. Only partially by choice. Maybe this was just how it was meant to be. At least if I left the village, I could focus on my hunt to find Junan.
Those thoughts quickly faded away as I reached the bottom of the tower. A crowd had gathered there, and curiosity got the better of me. However, I hung back at the sound of Kagerou's voice. I had a knack for bumping into her after all, but whatever was going on held her attention. Someone was injured, judging by the murmurs and the urgency in her tone. She needed to get to the hospital, and asked that another girl--a new genin, maybe--help her. The injured boy was one I'd seen in the office. Younger than me but just as tall, and heavier, I guessed. What the hell happened between the office and the lobby? About the only risk was falling down the stairs, or a particularly bad case of clumsiness. I wondered for a moment if they would need help transporting him, but by the time I made up my mind, they were already out the door. I sighed. Better late than never I supposed.
As mentioned, I had nothing better to do, so I decided to head after them toward the hospital. I didn't mind waiting until Kagerou had a free moment, though I didn't like the idea of going to a place I purposely avoided until that point.
Diana stood on the precipice of her own destiny, she knew that there was only one way up the Spire. She walked through the doors and began to traverse the stairs leading into the monument they affectionately called ‘The Spire’; she knew what laid at the top. It was the beginning of a new life, everything that was her before was far in the past... this was going to crave her a new future. With each flight, her nerves grew but she was confident that she would be able to make it.
Four Five Six
The numbers grew until the slightly winded girl reached the top, walking through the door and into the hall way. She leaded against the wall and caught the slight breath that winded her. Traversing the Spire was one step... now it was time to speak with the Kages. After a moment of waiting, Diana knew that the Kages were real busy. She deducted that she would come back at a later time.

It had definitely been awhile since Soraru ascended the spire, his bright blue eyes sizing up the structure and its intricate design before settling on two guards that appeared less than pleased. "Are you going to state your business? We haven't had any reports of outsiders that'd be entering around this time." Not one to waste words, he decided to speak with his actions. Right. I should have had this showing from the start. Dropping his right hand to his obi, he moved slowly so that the guards wouldn't get any ideas. He unfurled a cloth from around the hilt of his primary weapon, the shine of steel putting the guard furthest away from him on edge for a moment, but all it wouldn't even take a second to see the scratch-less Arashigakure headband, clean as the day he received it. "I'm a Jounin." Unfortunately those words weren't quite persuasive enough.
"If you think we don't have a record of every Jounin that comes in or out of this tower, you're a fool." Soraru's temper burned hotter. He wasn't a fan of those drawn out interactions, especially with people who were so insistent on not working with him easily. On the other hand, it was fair. There were things he should've taken into consideration before approaching the spire. He exhaled, letting any built up frustrations get carried away by the wind. Just as he inhaled to speak again, the other guard spoke up, recognition in his eyes. "Let him through. He's been off-duty for over a year on personal reasons. If you need more info, just look up "Soraru" in the logs." Sora's shoulders visibly lowered in relief, glad that someone recognized him. With all that said and done, he continued on with his original plans. Just as he walked through the entrance, a hand gripped firmly on his shoulder. "Are you ok? As in...really, are you feeling any better?" Many thoughts swam through his head in the moment, a lot of them being suppressed. Anyone who read his file would know about what happened, and at least the guard wasn't being rude. Soraru looked back at him with a smile on his lips that didn't quite crease his eyes. "I'm doing better. Wouldn't be here if that weren't the case." Visibly, there weren't many cues to say he wasn't doing just fine. His hygiene wasn't lacking, and the only thing marring his usual pretty-boy features were noticeable dark circles under his eyes and a small bit of stubble on his jawline that couldn't really be seen with his scarf in the way.
Standing outside of the door of Jay and Jeong wasn't easy. It took a lot of willpower to separate himself from his kids and come there, even more to re-enter service. The last time he was there, he came from his home with blood still on his hands to tell them that he'd handle his own problems. Things were different. It wasn't natural for him to just exist outside of service, especially while he was still so young. Not only did he have his own dreams to follow, he needed to maintain enough strength to keep his remaining family safe. So, feet still placed firmly outside, he raised his hand and let his knuckles tap a few times against the door in a knock.

Only one of the twins were present inside of their office. Twas the ever worried Yang half of the Gyuki, looking over reports of the village and making note of the goings on therein. Jeon had quelled an uprising it seemed, without having to shove her foot up someone's a**. Few people of interest involved with that had came across his dashboard, as it were, and while the name Kim kept on coming up over and over again, he was entirely unsure exactly where to go with that. Jeon would have an idea... and it wouldn't be the kind he could just willingly employ if he didn't wanna tear the world asunder looking for her. Subterfuge was so difficult. Especially when there could be rampant compromise among some of the agents of his village that came from the former UHV.
A deep sigh escaped and was punctuated by the flash and eventual rumble of lightning. "Ever the concerned father." He swatted away the voice in his head, thinking of his daughter, half son and wife. Before he could become the worry wort he often was known to be to his closer friends, he was surprised by a knock at the door. He tried not to be too conspicuous about it as he brushed himself off, wondering where his secretary had gotten off to* [see the mudslide hills] and shuffled papers into proper places. "One moment please!" He called in his deep and thunderous voice. No longer monkey sage, he had settled into his position as what some would call a Raijin. He had a habit of wanting to make a show of hisself, not even out of pretension, but out of a sort of learned caution that the Gyuki had imposed. He adjusted his open shirt, took Magni and leaned the flare tipped greatsword against his desk beside him instead of the wall behind him. The very moment he realized what he was doing he frowned and shook his head, crossing one leg over the other on the bench he used in place of a chair. "Come on in!" he spoke a little dejected with himself.

He waited as he was told, hearing the voice of who he assumed to be Jay. He speaks with a bit more authority than before. Musunde made a mental note, hand on the doorknob while he waited. Once he was given the go-ahead to come in, he opened the door, looking over the Arashikage's room, along with only half of said kage. He looked more dignified, though Musunde supposed that came with the position. Seeing the greatsword propped against Jay's desk, he returned the favor before making his introduction, loosening his obi and taking both his katana and wakizashi from their respective positions. He closed the door and set both sheathed weapons against the nearest wall. Once that was finished up, he turned back to Jay with a small smile on his lips. Unlike the ones before, it was genuine. "It's been awhile. Looks like you've settled into your position well...hah, I almost feel inclined to bow under such an imposing presence." While his words were spoken partly with the intention of teasing, it wasn't a secret that he had a hard time respecting those younger than him, whether it be by a year or more.
While his smile remained present on his lips, a bit of the light was drawn from his eyes. It was as if he was smacked with a firm reminder of why he was there in the first place. "I guess your sister is off on business, so it's a shame she won't hear the news with you first. I want to resume service with the village. The wooden swords, teaching, and staying at home since what happened...it's not good for me. If I continue this way, the last ten years of being a shinobi will have all been for nothing." While he hated the feeling of stagnancy, he needed time to grieve. While nearly two years may have been too much time, he was too protective of his children to just not show up at home every day. He wasn't letting the teachers or maids do their jobs, and it was burning him out slowly but surely.
