"I don't know how many of her victims have come to me, looking for a cure for their undeserved curse or enchantment that they've found placed on them. She always sends them with letters asking whether I can counter it...." Larkanna's foul mood lessened until it was deminished by allowing his calm to become her own. Sitting back down, she sighed, "They won't be trying anything of the sort. 'Tis terrible manners to use spells, especially destructive ones, in another witch's house without their permission." Motioning to several wreaths of different herbs and branches, she said, "That absorbs any offensive spells' power by half the amount they originally planned, including my own. Sadly, those blasts were excruciatingly weak for me..." She didn't dwell on that for long before there was a knock on the door and a whisper of a voice could be heard throughout the house. It stated the names and purposes of those that stood on the doorstep.
Standing, she took a deep breath, "Please excuse me for a moment." Walking to the front door, she flicked her hand and the door opened to reveal a very elderly woman that hunched over a cane and looked as if she had lived since the ice age had taken place. The second woman was so strikingly beautiful that she seemed to glow with prettiness, though it was a mass of glamour spells. In reality, the Witch of the Wastes was a very short and stout woman that had a face that could rival a donkey's rear. Curtsying, she showed nothing but charm and the image of a good hostess, "Merry meet, Madame Wisteria, Witch Mother." Her good-natured facade didn't fail when she also curtsied to the Witch of the Wastes, "And merry meet to you also, Madame Hilda of the Wastes. Please do step inside and warm yourselves in the parlor."
Hilda stepped in without even glancing back at the Witch Mother. She said no greetings in return to 'Raven' as she handed the younger witch her fur coat and feathered hat. Continuing on her way to the parlor, she didn't notice Elkand in the corner.
"Merry meet, Miss Raven Blackfeather of Heartington." The elder woman said, her blind eyes gazing into the hall as she stepped in without an inkling of help and bobbed her head before heading into the parlor. She was so sharp that it was as if she wasn't blind as a bat, but her eyes locked onto Elkand. "Is that the presence of a wizard I sense?"

Elkand looked up for a moment look at the witch mother. He nodded his head " Yes it would be Milady." he said. He had no clue the old woman was blind as he stood up and and tapped his staff on the ground and folded one arm across his chest and leaned forward slightly " Elkand Solwind, son to Archmage Silvus Solwind and Lillit Blanche." he said " Its pleasure to meet you Milady" he stood up straight and looked at the woman in front of him and smiled " Please enjoy your evening." he said and walked back over to the corner ans sat back in his chair. He stole one glance at the witch of waste and then back at the ground. She reeked of glamor spells and something about her didn't settle with him.
He leaned back and closed his eyes keeping his ears open and he stayed alert. The elder woman was indeed who he expected but the which of waste was not. He silently chuckled to himself, this was going to be interesting especially due to the tension between Raven and Hilda. He hoped his calm demeanor would help her out. He was glad the marking was good for something at least. He adjusted his hat and stayed silent in the corner breathing steadily however he did feel a bit uncomfortable.

Larkanna placed the hat and coat on a hanger that wouldn't let go unless she told it to, and she didn't intend for it to do so. Watching the the conversation between Elkand and the Witch Mother, she decided that it would be best to step in before things got out of hand. "Madame Wisteria, Madame Hilda," She said, walking over to stand next to Elkand she hoped that his charm would allow them to leave with good impressions of him. "Elkand is a friend of mine and has been working on a particular spell that requires both witch and wizard magic to complete." That one lie was a good one for herself, who was terrible at lying.
The Witch of the Wastes snorted, "A wizard? What a disgrace, Raven. I'd have thought you'd never stoop so low."
"Hush, Hilda." The Witch Mother said with a slight growl at the edge of her voice. Looking at Larkanna, making the young witch flinch, she said, "What is the meaning of this? I thought I'd taught you better than to go running of with men in hopes of completing your experimental spells? Not just any man, either, the son to a trecherous wizard at that and a wizard himself."
Larkanna's face became entirely emotionless, "I believe that you two are being terribly ignorant." With those words said calmly, the Witch of the Wastes was about to say something else but was interrupted by the young witch, "He is an honorable young man that shares many of my same interets and I hope that as this evening progresses, you'll see that there is no harm in 'running off with men'." Snapping her fingers, a table and several chairs appeared, including tea and an herbal stew that she'd prepared by agic while she'd been changing into her current attire. "Now, if you'll care to join us for some dinner, I would be most graced with your lovely presences."
The witches, who felt no reason to argue with Larkanna's words which had been proven true, sat down. The tea pot went from one cup to the next and filled each one with a flourish. Larkanna's symbol glowed a slight green as it reduced the energy that she shared with Elkand. The Witch of the Wastes didn't like being beaten so easily, so she decided to see whether Elkand was just as charming as she'd said he was. "So what do you specialize in, Mr. Solwind?" She asked in an alluring voice that was mixed with a 'siren spell'.

Elkand opened one eye to look at the Witch Mother when she said the words "treacherous wizard." he didn't exactly take kindly to that statement but remained quite calming himself once again. He listened to Raven come to his defense and smiled. He nodded to Raven " I appreciate the statement Raven." he said to her though he was speaking into her head this time. Elkand looked at Hilda when she asked him about his abilities. He answered respectfully and in a a calm voice " I specialize in fire and wind magic however I would happen to hold more knowledge of ancient matters." he said " Ones spells are only powerful when they hold enough knowledge." he said.
He looked at Hilda " Now Milady where would your talents lie?" he asked her looking right into her eyes still calm and collected looking past the magic she had user to change her appearance. He could see into her soul as he did it was really a natural ability most magically inclined beings could use if they learned how. Larkanna wasn't kidding either this woman's soul told him she was a rather cruel person. He didn't let that effect anything however as he regarded her as he would one of his teachers or someone in a higher class than him.

The Witch Mother completely ignored Elkand, her hatred for wizards completely obvious to the world. She coudln't stand them and their nonsense.
"I specialize in curses and transformation spells." Hilda replied in a haughty tone of voice. "Somehow, they always end up being relieved of their well deserved punishments for coming through my lands." She sent an icy glare at Larkanna, who ignored it and took a bite of stew. "But of course a wizard like yourself can't possibly-"
"Pride comes before a fall, Miss Hilda." The Witch Mother said quietly as she sipped at the tea. "I'm not much for the good book myself, but it is quite enlightening and it gives me wise things to say to young ones such as yourself."
Hilda glared at the elderly woman before saying, "What have you been up to of late, Raven? The magic coming from that symbol on your hand is truly stirring my curiosity." She knew what had happened due to several spying spells she'd set up here last time she and the Witch Mother had come for a visit. Larkanna had humored the older witch by pretending not to take notice of them, but had completely forgotten about them before and during the bonding of her and Elkand. When she didn't respond right away, she grinned maliciously, "Go on, it must be an interesting story."
Larkanna simply shrugged, "This is just another experiment of mine, Hilda."
The Witch Mother was catching on with what Hilda had been somewhat hinting at, "What is it? The power coming from it is ancient as time itself, that much this blind old woman can 'see'."
Larkanna frowned, trying to think of something to back up her words without completely giving away their predicament and opening Elkand up to a world of witch spells that would probably be something resembling a permanent curse. Taking several leaves from a pouch that appeared on the table in front of her, she crushed them and put them in her tea, glancing at Elkand nervously. "Death wishes." She tried to tell him through a basic telepathy spel. "If things begin to get out of hand, get out of here. My charms won't last with both of them furious with outrage. When these kick in, I'll 'die'."

Elkand looked at Larkanna and smiled and began to laugh and he showed the mark on his hand " This mark is a simple bonding spell we both cast upon ourselves when we began to work with each other.' he said " This particular bonding spell is very ancient indeed and is very strong but an necessary step." he said " I can see you both obviously hold a cold flare for us wizards so you might not listen to the words I offer." he said " This bond can be broken at any given time of our choosing." he started " The spell were trying to learn was one I learned in the netherworld from Grimlet." he offered them hoping they believed it " This spell was once offered as an alternative to a powerful witch and wizard as a way of making peace between them." this much was true there was one a spell like that but it isn't well known. " I was prepared to abandon the idea but Larkanna was the one who persuaded me to stay on the path of discovery, however we have run into complications and so its taking longer than we anticipated." he tried and sighed " Such ancient magic often carries problems but with enough time are certainly easy to master.." he said " However this bond has proved somewhat beneficial despite its obvious problems." he yawned and looked at them to see what they tonight.

Hilda wasn't too happy with the answer, but played along with it. "I see." She said tersly before eating several bites of stew. Trying to get off the subject, she asked the Witch Mother, "You're the one that summoned us to meet, so why are we here?"
"I have foreseen great disaster and chaos in the not so distant future." She said with a frown that made her look a century older than she was. "I was told that there would be a bond between two gifted beings that would bring around all of this and together, they would begin to change points of view in the witch and wizard communities." Sending a glare at Larkanna, she said, "I believe this meeting has confirmed my vision and I am disgusted to discover that my last and most promising pupil is the cause of distruction of walls that were built for reasons unknown to any of us."
Sighing sadly, she stood up with the help of her cane and no longer gazed at Larkanna, but Elkand. Larkanna finished her tea as she also stood. "The walls between witches and wizards have begun to crumble because of your little experiment. Because of this, I no longer believe that you'll take my place as the Witch Mother when I pass on, Raven Blackfeather. Before I leave, I must feel as if it is my fault for not doing anything from preventing this future... so I shall do my best by ridding us of the corruption that is beginning within you." Then she pointed at Elkand sending a bolt of lightning at him, the air crackling with the power that the woman possessed.
Before it hit him, Larkanna used a reflection spell, but only had time to reflect it at herself. The symbol on her hand glowed green, preventing Elkand from feeling the electricity that coursed through her veins.Slumping to the ground, everything went black, but the symbol continued to glow very dimly. Hilda stood, a demonic glint in her eyes, she smiled deviously, "No pulse. So this is how the pride of the witching community dies... pitiful really. I'd always hoped that she'd die slowly, but that was rather amusing."
The Witch Mother's eyes filled with tears, but she blinked them away and turned to leave, "The bonding will fade and soon you may also die, Solwind. That is how most bonding spells work, correct? Especially involuntary ones like yours." But she didn't wait for an answer as Hilda walked past the woman and left without a trace. Looking over her shoulder, she gave him a slight smile, "Take care of her now, Elkand. My death shall come before the chaos of your doing, but I pray that even a terrible wizard such as yourself shall stay strong. Times will become hard and the people's hearts harder. But I guess this old woman shouldn't worry about a strong young man like yourself..." Then she turned and used a transportation spell and also vanished.

Elkand's eyes opened wide when she attacked him. He found himself unable to move in time as the speed and power of the attack was intense. The biggest surprise was the reflective spell cast by Larkanna beacuse he knew the danger of reflective spells. Everything seemed in slow motion as he stood up and he tired to cast a spell but it was to late he saw her struck but he felt no pain as he looked at his mark which was glowing green. He fell to his knees when she fell to the floor, he couldn't feel her at all now.
He stared at the floor as they walked off though the old woman stayed to taunt him. He suddenly felt heavy and confused at what was said and what had just happened. He didn't say a word as they left and his put his hand on his forehead and closed his eyes his breathing speeding up. He forced himself up and walked over to Larkanna and fell to his knees his mind cloudy. He absentmindedly reached for her head and held it tightly. Her mark was dim and growing dimmer as he felt his own strength start to return bit by bit but somehow he didn't believe she was dead...or he didn't want to believe.
His staff began to float around him and he heard a voice a rather dark voice " What an unfortunate turn of events this turned out to be." the voice said it was prominently female though you could hear a dark growl repeating every word. Elkand was shaking as he looked down at Larkanna and an overwhelming feeling of sorrow came over him.
The staff continued to speak to him " Its saddening isn't it you two got along so well despite how much you tried to keep it things as distant as possible." it said " This was something you could have never predicted Elkand, but to allow her to die, thats just pathetic." it mocked him only adding to his frustration. Elkands mark started to turn black and shift around and spread over his arm as he pressed his forhead against her and began to whisper " I never wanted this to happen Larkanna, I wish I could have stopped it but I was just to weak." he said " I'm..... so..... sorry." he said. Maybe it was just the mark but he actually felt as if he cared deeply for her. He stood up and picked her up walking out to his home.
At home he sat her down in his room with Alistor standing by the bed. He nodded at her and grabbed a black cloak and mask. He looked at Larkanna and at the floating staff. It spoke to him " They talked of calamity and chaos my dear wizard, they have mocked you and killed someone important to you, you have no reason to stay here and die without at least exacting yuor revenge." he said " They were trying to prevent calamity apparently, nothing in the rule book says you can't cause it now." it told him. The staff laughed " Ignorance is a grand thing isn't it, to think you can prevent such disasters like this, it only makes things worse, go gain what you left behind wizard." she said " Pay them a little early visit before you fade."
Elkand simply sighed " I agree, if somehow she isn't dead, then tell her I apologize for all I am about to do." he said pulling his hood over his head and wrapped the cloak around himself before he walked off. Alaster and the staff stayed behind and started to try and heal her if they could and were praying that there was hope. The staff rested against the wall " The Witch Mother disappoints me, a disgrace to the magical community, her hatred of wizards has blinded her judgement, I should have stopped this idiotic tradition with the first Witch Mother." she said.

Larkanna was in a world of pure darkness, where there was no light. She wasn't dead, but at the moment, not truly alive either. The herb known as 'death wish' had been an herb that she'd never hoped to have used. It was the perfect way of faking death and cheating it. As the berb's 'deathly' effects began to wear off, she could tell that there was dark magic brewing nearby. Pain surrounded her like cloak of pure misery, but she could barely move, just forcing the herb to wear off and allow her to breathe seemed to take too much effort.
Wyrm appeared and walked with Elkand, unsure whether he should say anything. "Death would have taken you the moment her heart stopped, wizard. Your bond is the strongest and strangest I have ever run across. You feel each others pain and know what the other it feeling. If the Witch Mother really was trying to disgrace you, then why would she say 'take care of her'? She wouldn't need taking care of if she weren't entirely gone." Beginning to fade due to being too far away from his vessel, he said before her entirely vanished, "That woman has lived over a hundred years and has seen all sorts of ploys like the one Larkanna put into motion. You'll see..."
Larkanna's heart beat weakly and her breathing was shallow. What little energy she possessed, she sent it to Elkand.(( Remember Juliet's 'poison'? XD I had to use it in this RP. ))

Elkand sighed and looked at the dragon " I suppose you'd be right." he said " I still don't know the nature of this bind however." he sighed and watched his disappear completely. He was unsure however, witches were strange indeed. He then felt her heart beat however it was faint. He turned back and ran to the room stopped by her side. He looked at her " Alright then you better no be leading me on." he said. He sighed " If your just playing around it would be very bad for both our communities." he said and waited patiently his face still hidden by the hood and mask as he watched and waited though his mark started to revert back to normal as he did.

Larkanna opened an eye and smiled a little, "You were worried about me, weren't you? That's... sweet of you." she managed to whisper. "And playing around... is the last thing I am trying to do." Forcing herself into a sitting postion, she leaned her head back against the headboard. "Raven Blackfeather no longer exists... and now I'm finally free of her shadow, her act. The lark may now finally spread her wings." Lifting up a hand and moving her fingers, she grimanced as there was the snapping of what was left of the electricity running through her veins.

Elkand looked at her happily " Worried?" he said " I was beyond worried Larkanna.' he said. He watched her sit up and move her fingers. He smiled at her "Its a good thing you've been set free then Larkanna." he said and but then he very gently hit her on the head with two fingers only enough to cause a slight sting " NEVER. DO. THAT. AGAIN!" he snapped her but it wasn't exactly angry as he sighed " You had me worried sick, next time you plan something tell me do something, my mind cloudy, you realize this mark doesn't allow for any subtly in feelings." he said " I was about ready to destroy everything beacuse of that!" he put his hand on her shoulder and tired to get her to lay back down " Now lay down and rest until you've fully recovered." he said.

When he hit her on the head, she could only laugh a little, "Alright, I won't pull a stunt like that again if you won't use that spell that you used yesterday." Listening to what he said, she looked up at him pure disbelief, "Destroy everything?! You're as mad as a hatter!" Raising her hand, she looked at the mark and shook her head slightly, which was the most that she could manage until she'd fully regained control of herself again, "This thing started glowing a blue-green, which is similar to the green that it turned when it won't allow the other to feel their pain. But the blue prevented you from also taking the blow of the herbs, otherwise you might have actually died... it kept your heart from stopping and your mind shutting down." So far this symbol had proven itself to be just as strange as the Witch Mother's reaction to Elkand. Looking back at him, then glancing at his hand on her shoulder, she smiled a little before laying down, her eyes drifting shut, "Suddenly... I think I'm beginning to enjoy our predicament. Your madness must be contageous."

Elkand looked at her " I suppose I'll have to explain my thinking later." he said and looked at her " Your gonna have to explain these things to me and I'll explain why as well." he said. He watched her eyes close " Yes our situation is certainly growing more interesting." he said and walked to the door " Enjoy yuor rest." he said and walked out shutting the door behind him. He looked at his mark and stared. His now had a red outline but was glowing normally. He narrowed his eyes and lowered his hand and continued towards the library to see what he could find out about their marks and learn a little bit more about witches culture. He proceeded to the library and grabbed what could could and bean to read through them all.
