{Etiquette: 6k4=35 To be polite and seem as sincere in her desire to assist him as possible.}
Miyako glanced up from her go game as yet another person entered. Despite her concentration on the game, it was always good to have information no matter where she was. Information was what kept your head above water and away from an executioner. As the flustered man spoke and announced his intentions to the room at large, she smiled. Apparently the crab had gone into his shell (although she had no clue how right she was).
"Sirrah, I am to meet Kaiu Kagae, several of his companions and I are staying at the Inn here. Can I help you in any way?"

It was a servant and a peasant, and thus, not worthy of such kindness and polite words from one of a higher station. Bowing deeply to Miyako, the servant would hand her an unsealed note before backing away and vacating the premises. Upon reading the note, Miyako would read the following, translated from Rokugani kanji:

[Willpower/Etiquette to keep from actually LOLing 4k2=14}
The note started out pleasantly enough, and Miyako nodded her head as she read. It would make it easier for each of them to save their money. But as she got to the addition at the bottom of the note, she had to struggle to maintain her composure. Well, the Crab clan were rather earthy so she couldn't be blamed too much, but even Miyako couldn't resist a bit of ladylike sniggering at the note.
Composing herself, but still smiling, she headed up to Kojiro's room and knocked on the door. "Kojiro-san, we have a missive from the family of Kaiu Kagae." Hoping that would be enough to get him to open his door. Once he did, she'd then explain the invitation. "I have not been introduced to the rest of the wardens beyond Ujina-san." It was up to him to introduce them so that the message could be conveyed. She however, did not let him see the exact missive as that could have been embarrassing to the Crab which would serve Miyako no purpose at THIS time. twisted

@The Husk and Shell
Kojiro had just wrapped up finishing his devotions to his ancestors when Miya-chan knocked on the door. He stood up wearily and answered her. "I see. I see. One second." Kojiro would then take a deep breath and then stood up. He would exit his room and hope that Miyako would follow him.
"Shosuro Miyako-san, this is Kakita Zanzen-san, Kitsu Kyumi-san, Matsu Seichiro-san, and Yoritomo Hisashi-san. Jade Wardens, this is Shosuro Miyako-san, the friend of Kuni Raicho-sama that Kuni-sama told us about. It seems she has a missive from Lady Kaiu for us and Lady Kaiu has requested the opportunity to host us at her residence.

Kyumi would bow her head at the mention of her name. "It's nice to meet you, Shosuro-san. Let's do our best to... Look out for each other." The shugenja would smile politely, and it seemed as though she was either ignoring or had forgotten their earlier interactions. Regardless of which it was, it appeared that she was less scatterbrained now that she'd had a little reprieve from the sun.
"An actual invitation?" She asked, unable to mask some of her surprise. She'd expected Kagae's family to be filled with people who were as... sociable... as he was.

Hisashi sat amongst his peers as Kojiro walked into the room with someone new. He would politely stand and give a bow to the newcomer respectfully. "Tis a pleasure."
He would look a little surprised at the invitation to the residence of Kagae's family, but he would accept graciously. He supposed that it made sense, what with the Lady Kaiu's son being in the area as of the moment. That said it was a little sudden. No matter.
He would follow through and act as necessary when the time came to do so.

If you were to accept the hospitality of this undoubtedly higher-status samurai, it would be somewhat improper to do so without a gift of some sort.

Hisashi relays this important information to the party.
"While it might be most appropriate for everyone to bring a gift of their own, I'm willing to put together some sort of communal gift from the Wardens as a whole to simplify matters... The question really then is what to get her."

Seichiro swallowed the food he was chewing, stood up, then bowed to the Scorpion lady. His height became clear once he stood up. "I am Matsu Seichiro, of the Lion clan."

"This is very true. Although, the problem is what to get a Crab lady when in Crab lands that would be worthy." As Seichiro stood up and addressed her however, Miyako had to look up quite the distance. He was as much taller than their companions as she was shorter than. Not someone to take lightly indeed. "Matsu-san, a pleasure." The jade eyed woman smiled prettily, a crooked little grin that was pleasing to the eye nonetheless.
As Miyako thought more and more, she had a very good idea what she would give the lady in question. It was the entire point that she had it in her pack after all, and this way she wouldn't have to share it. Which would save her own constitution.

The exhausted Scorpion knotted his brows and fretted. "She is inviting us to her home. Perhaps we should give her a gift that exemplifies our home to her? I wonder if we each compose a haiiku about our homes to her? I have no doubt that the most talented calligrapher amongst us could make them into a presentable gift for Lady Kaiu?"
Kojiro would then step back. "But then again, I am tired and my judgement may be less than enviable."

"A haiku?" Denbe seemed dubious of the idea, but knew nothing of the crab woman or her family's estates. "I suppose I did not bring anything that would make for a suitable gift..." and he had no idea what to buy. The Hare didn't seem focused enough on that issue to really come up with much, though. Since he'd gotten back he'd been distracted, his mind clearly elsewhere- probably on the trail going cold.

@The Shell and Husk:
Zanzen had stayed quiet, listening to the others for awhile now while trying to figure out how they grew and prepared their rice here. Unfortunately, he wasn't really one for agriculture. Finally, the blue garbed Crane would stand, adjusting his swords slowly. "Well, if it is to present a bit of our homelands, then I know what gift I shall present."
He turned towards Miyako, bowing slightly. "Kakita Zanzen, Crane Duelist."

@ The Shell and Husk:
Kyumi would think on what the others had suggested. Certainly, the suggestions had some merit, but she was starting to have other ideas.
"Writing about home might be a nice idea but... Maybe not the best one. I mean, when you go to someone else's home, you compliment THEIR home, don't you? Couldn't writing about our own potentially be viewed as a way of saying 'I wish I was home instead of here'?" She'd pause before going on, hoping that her suggestion wouldn't be outright rejected.
"In fact, considering that we don't know anything at all about Lady Kaiu, wouldn't it be better to ask someone as to what she's like first? Maybe we could ask Toritaka-san for advice? If not him, couldn't we send a messenger to the estate to ask Kaiu-san himself what his mother might like?"
