✿ The night had came and went, along with her memory of everything surrounding it. When she found herself thinking back to what happened it was mostly a blur, like a weird movie that had sound but no image. But here she was now, sitting in a bed and shoveling food down her throat. Kari stuck the spoon into her mouth, sucking off the ice-cream and keeping it in while her eyes sat on the door. Outside of it were two military men and she could only guess why they were there.





✿ Two people stood at the doorway of Kari's room, both men of different statures and seemed to be polar opposites in looks; but behavior wise they were relatively the same - or from what she could tell. When Ed and Al made their way to the door the army men stepped closer to each other, blocking the way. "We cannot permit you to go through here," the first man was small, short blonde cropped hair and freckles that bridged across his nose and upper cheeks. While the other one had raven hair, just a bit longer than the blonde's and was more slender and silk; rounding close to his face. "Hm? Are you by chance Edward Elric?" Not only was the raven boy taller but his voice was also odd, deep and brooding while the blondes was normal. The blonde peaked his eyebrows up, directing his eyes to the raven, "I think he is Daniel." The raven, Daniel, kept his gaze forward before clearing his throat. Colonel Mustang said he wanted to see you, but you can see your friend first since you're already here. But please do not forget to go see him, he said it was urgent."




✿ Daniel saluted them, while the blonde was a few paces behind by saluting them a few minutes later. But they both moved aside, Daniel opening the door and letting them step in. Immediantly Kari blinked, pulling her focus away to make it seem like she wasn't starring at the door. "Ed, Al! You came to visit me." She grinned, putting down the bowl and spoon on a small end table that had been moved closer to her bed. Closer to her body was a small iv drip, poked into her arm while she sat up straighter, her legs becoming bow-legged as she tried to crane forward.

✿ Kari slouched, coughing a bit before looking back at them. "Well I still have a fever, so they said I can't do anything strenious for a few days."





✿ She sat up, moving her legs a bit to get more comfortable before taking back her ice-cream. "Oh, I met your Colonel. Hm, Mustang I think?" Kari spooned her ice-cream, taking a small amount in before speaking again. "You know he want's to talk to you."




✿ Her head was still down facing the bowl but she lifted her brows, looking up at them and feeling meek as she remembered what Mustang talked to her about. "He's nice. So um, when are you going to talk to him?" She looked down playing with her food still before taking another spoon full.

✿ She blinked and swallowed quickly looking at Al, "Al-Alphonse, maybe you should go to please? I mean, I think he wanted to see you too." Kari looked down, putting her hands around the bowl while she let the spoon sit in it. Of course Alphonse obeyed her, standing up and leaving the room as the guards had closed the door. She wondered what they thought about the guards, there to keep her safe? What a false idea. Cute but false.





✿ Mustang was sitting at his desk, hands interlocked once again but his face was more hardened than it had last been when they met. "Where's you're--" He stopped seeing Al step in before he leaned back in his chair, one arm dangling off while the other played with a pen on his desk. "I met your friend. Ed, how much do you know about her?"




✿ Just a few seconds after he had left the room Kari had stood up, feeling wobbly and sick from the sudden motion but she pushed it aside, pulling out the IV drip from her arm and letting it dangle in the air. She pulled off the hospital gown, pulling it over her head and throwing it to the floor while she hopped over to where her things were; picking out her dress and putting it on quickly. She had no time to loose, if Mustang was talking to them like he had talked to her then their conversation would be quick and stern. With her clothes on she grabbed her backpack and put it on, making sure it was secure before she made her way to the bed and got on it with her knees. She had to do it quietly, unsure of how good the guards hearing was but she opened the window as slow as she could standing up and putting one leg out while she straddled the sill. She breathed in, the air hitting her face full on while her skin became boiling hot. Carefully she jumped out, placing both her feet on the edge of the border while she closed the window from outside. Kari pressed her body to the wall, sliding her feet across the mantle before stretching her leg to the next roof, jumping across and slipping to her knees; something that gave her a scare as she held onto the tile but she was fine.

✿ Mustang nodded, picking up the arm that was dangling and putting it under his chin. "Well, that might explain things better. When the doctors worked on her they found something on her hip, a weird sort of transmutation circle." He turned a bit and looked out his window, making sure to keep half of his body directed at them. "I would just keep an eye on her and watch out." He kept his body in the same position, turning his head to look at them and quirking his eyebrow a bit. "Don't worry about what happened in Riviere either, Falman filled me in. You should go get some rest and just be careful."





✿ Kari exteneded her hands, balancing her out while she kept one foot in the rail's gutter and one on the tile. She walked a bit more, her stomach was wavering around while the wind flapped against her but it wasn't too bad. There was a thick pipe that led to the ground, which she planned to ride down. It took a bit of manuevering but she had her body locked around it, eyes closed while she slowly moved down careful not to fall.




✿ The landing wasn't too bad, her feet tupped slowly against the floor before she had balanced herself out again, noticing for the first time that her dress wasn't the cleanest and it had only gotten worse with her gymnastic escape routine. Kari pressed her palm against her forehead, feeling it before continuing to walk, deeming that she would be fine if she just sat for a while. So she did, walking down the street till she came to a far off alley and sat down in the middle of it, sighing and thunking her head against the wall even though it was damp.

✿ What felt like hours had actually been several minutes, being in a cold damp area wasn't good it was the place where viruses thrived and it only made her sickness grow. Realizing this she stood up, becoming wobbly while her whole arm felt antsy.





✿ She walked down the main streets, the plazas, where most of the shops were and from all the stares she was getting she guessed that she looked awful. "Hey, are you alright?" Someone had touched her arm and when she looked up the first thing she saw was blonde hair but looking at his face it wasn't Edward. Kari twirked her arm away, giving him a nod before he grabbed her hand. "H-Hey wait. Let me help you, okay?" They stood like that for a minute, before her turned around and bent down; tugging her to get onto his back.




✿ Her head was swimming so much that she complied, getting onto his back and slumping over it. The boy stood back up, groaning just a bit with the newly added weight. He held onto her legs, which had wrapped around his waist while her arms dangled over his shoulders, her head ducked between his neck and shoulder.

✿ Kari closed her eyes, digging her face into his shoulder. The boys steps were uneaven and really bouncy, which made her stomach sick but she held it together.





✿ The boy stopped but she kept her eyes closed, her stomach queasy as she breathed harder. "H-Hey, do you know him?" He reached up, brushing her cheek with his hand while his other arm had grabbed onto both her ankles to keep her on. She looked up, feeling sick as the fresh air hit her face again. Her brows turned pulling together, looking over and recognizing the jacket; because after all she had worn it for some time. She frowned, "Yeah." He had turned his head to her before bending down and letting her get off.




✿ For a moment Kari wobbled backward, arms extended infront of her to stablize herself. Then she pulled herself forward, hooking her hand onto Ed's arm. She kept her face down, not knowing what to say but wondering if he'd be mad or upset. Most likely by now he knew about what Mustang new, after all he had interogated her. But now she just had to take her chances. Kari reached under his hood, putting both hands on his face before thunking her forehead against his. Touching him she realized that he was burning hot and then guilt swam over her. "I'm sorry, Ed."

✿ Kari's cheeks turned pink as he lifted her up, the discoloration between her blush and sickness showing through but she hid it by putting her face in his shoulder. As they walked away she could see the boy standing there still, getting smaller and smaller till he dissapeared.





✿ When they finally came back to the room she could already see the guards dissaproving looks, with a meek face she turned and pressed her face into his neck feeling his skin against her nose and mouth. No doubt they got yelled at, how bad she didn't know. Thinking about this made her curl her toes and fret, would Ed and Al get yelled at too?




✿ When the door opened and they finally got inside she extended her leg, trying to get her foot to touch the floor before he let her go and shed did. Kari hooked her hand onto Ed's wrist, her breath coming out a bit harsh and huffy. "You need to lay down now, you're worse than me."

✿ Kari looked at Ed feeling her stomach flip-flop. When she looked at Al she didn't know what to say, sending him a glance before looking back at Edward.





✿ "What do you have to do?" She tilted her head, meeting his eyes while watching him braid. Thinking about it she didn't know but then again she didn't know about his life.





✿ Kari frowned and grabbed his head, thunking it against hers a little too harshly while she glowered into his eyes. "Ed, you need to take a nap. One nap won't kill you, lay down." She turned his head a bit, getting access to the side of body while she kissed his cheek and undid his braids. Pulling away she frowned still, raising an arm and pointing to the bed while she expanded air into her cheeks.
