It...It was my fault, sir. I have memories of being older...able to ride them. I thought it would be fun. Don't take it out on Tam, sir. I was the one who did it. if it hadn't been for...*Looks up and thinks better of mentioning his older half, considering the realtionship between Twilight and Void*...ummm....ummmm...A friendly spirit possessing me...I couldn't have regained control.

tam shuffles in place and mutters beneath his breath is a voice barely audible to luceil... shut it, kiddo... he's right... i am a fool... but thank ye anyway for trying.. then he squares is shoulders and bows low to sire....
forgive me... he says outloud with his nose to the ground, i should have been more responsible... his form shimmers and distorts until he takes the form of a young male kitsune, snow white in color with only a hint of red in the tips of his ears... he is armed and armored and as he straightens to stand, he moves with a fluidity that belies long hours on the practice floor... i know... i know... back to guard duty... where to this time, he mutters in a disgusted tone...
lyssan eyes the two culprits with a sigh... nay... not this time, though i am sorely wishing i could send the both of ye to the frostreach for an eon or two to wake ye up... she looks to her mate and smiles grimly... i believe amestru has a better solution to assure ye think err ye act...
the male blinks and gives her an odd look, then he shakes his head with a sour chuckle... oh... aye... dump it all on me head why don't ye... then he nods solemnly.. ah... yes... well then, since the two of ye are so enamored of that misbegotten piece of astral monstrosity.... ye can tend to him until he is broke... he sees the eager looks the two exchange and holds up his hands... ah ah ah... i didn't say ye ken ride him... i said ye'd take care of him... it be a cantankerous beast... sold to me as broke and ready for training... and when i get me paws on the hide of that piece of scat trader who sold him to me, i'm gonna make him do the four winds tango... until then ye are to feed, exercise and groom the beast daily... ye will tend to it's needs first err ye even think of yer own... and ye will see him settled in his box each night err ye seek yer rest... have i made myself clear... this includes cleaning out his box, maintaining his tack, and seeing to his hooves... all of it...
he is apparently feeling rather proud of himself for thinking of such a good punishment... until lyssan leads him away by the hand... nice job, dear... you hear as they walk away... couldn't have done better meself... now about this trader... the male's shoulders sag a bit as the scolding begins... and tam chuckles beneath his breath... he's in for it now... he whispers to luceil...
people mutter and grumble as they drift away leaving the two miscreants standing alone in the moon light... tam yawns and shrugs... we better get some sleep... i'm afraid we've a long day tomorrow... he starts to lead the way back to the palace when a shadowy form steps forth to stop them... i'm afraid ye will have a long night err ye rest laddies... ye have duties to attend to young masters... it is the head groom and he has two currying brushes in his hand... stormbreaker will be needing grooming and cooling down err ye seek yer rest... then ye need to see to his stall...
he begins to list off the chores that the boys are now responsible for and is still listing them off well after they are done... ignoring him, tam sinks down to the ground at luceil's side... i need a bath... he grumbles with an enormous yawn... doesn't he ever shut up.... with that he falls fast asleep on the ground, leaving the small dragonling to wonder what had he gotten himself into this time....

*Sitting on his haunches, the dragonling is bemoaning his fate, when he manages to wake his older self up once more*
Kero: Jeez, kiddo, what's the matter...it was only a nightmare...ye'll be riding them like they were bicycles before long.
Luciel: But...we have to take care of him until he's broken and properly ridable...
Kero: Oh...is that all...Hell, kid, ye've already begun the process...riding a nightmare be easy. I'll make a deal with you, Luciel...though I think the punishment I heard before I fell asleep is fair...I will break this nightmare. However, there will be a price...I must ride him only at night...when no others are around...I kin use our body for this, but ye will be extremely tired in the mornings, understood. That is the price ye'll pay...breaking this horse will be easy for me, but require a lot of energy...feel free to eat as much as you need without fear of growing as fat as our beloved Aunt Agnumes...remember...that one silver who...
Luciel: Picked us all up and crushed us in a hug...the one who was bigger than mama...but who could barely fly..
Kero: Yep...her. Now, indulging your hunger will assauge the aches and pains...be sure to polish our scales...and if someone bugs you about eating so much...just say you're growing. Do we have a deal?
Luciel: Yeah...Deal.
Kero: Good...give me the body.
*A shudder passes through the dragon as Kero takes over. Moving to the nightmare, who has been properly groomed, he notes that Stormbreaker is still awake, just pretending to sleep. Keeping his mind completely calm, Kero vaults onto the Nightmare's back with the ease of practice, calming him with his own dreams. He opens the stall with a flick of his tail and slowly rides out, guiding the horse on a run through the forest glades with his mind. Slowly, he wears down the horse's resistance to riding, getting him used to both the weight of a rider and the unusual mind-melding required to ride such a beast. When dawn arrives, he leads the horse back to the stall, rubbing him down and cleaning him up, then doing Tam's and Luciel's morning chores in the stable before laying down and sinking back into slumber, unaware that the Head Groom saw almost the entire episode, including the strange shudder and shifting eye-color*

the groom decides to wait a bit to see if the alterations repeat themselves on a regular basis before coming to any conclusion... he has lived around shape shifters who alter their ages with their shapes all his life and even though it wasn't his talent, he understood enough about the curse (as he sees it) to realize that such shifting in and of themselves is not dangerous...

*Kero wakes up and hands his body back to Luciel, prompting a shudder and a switch of eye-color*
Kero: Good Luck, Luciel...remember, your friendly neighborhood Voidmage has your back. Just remember...don't tell anyone about me...Kami aren't exactly fond of me.
Luciel: Okay *Takes one look at Tam and prods him awake*
Look at that...the horse has been cared for...he's groomed and everything.
*Turns to the head groom*

tam cracks one sleepy eye and blinks... hell ye say... he mutters, coming groggily to his feet... but the evidence before him is very conclusive... he looks at the head groom and lifts one graceful eyebrow... the groom merely nods at luceil and shrugs...
he'll be best to leave at rest during the day, the groom says gruffly... be back here tonight, promptly following the main meal... his tack will need mending and the stall cleaning by then, i'm sure... then he turns and walks away....
tam shrugs as well and lead luceil off towards the palance and his room... where a spare bed has been set up for the young dragonling.... hope ye don't mind sharing a room for the time being, he asks with a grin... ma thought ye'd be more comfortable around someone ye knew...

*That night, Kero once again sneaks out, taking over Luciel's body and riding the nightmare through the forest. The beast is nearly tamed now, and is no longer fighting the Voidmage's mental urges. When false dawn arrives, Kero turns Stormbreaker towards the stables, once again replacing him in his stall, cleaning him, and mending tack damaged by the breaking. He turns to leave, only to be confronted by the head groom*

ye be friend or foe, mage? growls the head groom as he stands there pitchfork in hand... (he'd look menacing except he's put of quite a few pound over the years and looks more like a lovable old hound than a savage wolf....

ha... ye be only thinking i know who ye be... the mistress she be having some mighty odd companions of late... first that crazy mare in the kitchen then that hare-brained merchant who came through nigh on a moon or two ago, with this beastie here, saying it was mount far more fitting for one who delved into those things best left alone... upon hearing that amestru just had to have it in the stable... it was to be a gift for his lady, ye see... not that i approved... i didna trust that merchant with his wagon that held far more than it rightly should... he may have pulled the wool over the eyes of me kinsmen, but he didna fool me... he was trouble walking on two feet, he was...
as for ye... i see ye be a mage... or was a mage or mayhaps will be a mage... it is obvious there be two of ye inside that skin... and truth be told i care not what realm of magic has drug ye forth... i wish only to know iffin ye be friend or foe...
as he speaks blue sparkling motes fill the air about you... and you feel the urge to speak the truth... belatedly you realize that while he spoke he was also casting a spell... and in realizing this you understand that even the lowliest of lyssan's servants are no mean spell casters to have done this without your catching on... (this is a benign spell btw... a low level truth spell and nothing more... he can make it stronger... but it will be up to you and how you respond as to what he does noxt...)

*Eats the spell* And thank you for the meal. As to me being friend or foe, I told ye I be neither...my only interest in this is Luciel's safety and happiness. Harm him, and I will no longer be nice. As for the rest, I leave him in Lyssan's capable hands and return to a well-deserved nap.

tam sits up rubbing his eyes... he stares at you as if he doesn't quite believe what you have just said... as he is only slightly aware of your tie to kerobian, he probably doesn't...
sure, luceil... let's get something to eat then go check on him, ok... you were probably dreaming he was broke... dreams are like that ye know.. sometimes they seem so dang real it is hard to believe they're not..
