With the votes how they are the IDD has a good change to be made. 1-2 more days then the poll will change.

The Guild Marketplace has the least activity which is why I have these two options together.
So depending on how the poll goes, we might switch or create.

As someone with a shop in the Marketplace, I check it regularly. I have seen how relatively dead it has gotten. There are only a few active threads/shops at this point. Most of the threads in there have not had activity in months.
I don't see any point in keeping the Marketplace as a sub forum when we could just move the active shops (and future shops) to the main forum. It will cost the guild gold to create a whole new sub forum, and that is gold that could be used for more fun guild activities like contests. I see no need to waste guild gold to make a new forum when we have one that can easily be adapted.
I am presuming that if the Marketplace is removed, we will be able to host our shops in the Main Forum, so people who had shops can keep them. Is this correct? If not, well, maybe we would need a second sub forum to keep everyone happy...or the Marketplace could evolve and become the Marketplace/IDD, that would save some gold. biggrin
That's just my thoughts on the matter. If you oppose or agree, this thread is the place to discuss it!

The Guild Account gold can only be used for sub-forums.
ONLY for sub-forums.
So even though we have so much gold in the guild account, it's locked there. Our guild mules have the gold for contests. =3
Sub-forums are no problem to make, but will people use the sub-forums?
The game sub-forum is active. And it is used.
The G.M. not so much. Maybe the IDD will be used. We'll see.
Anyway these polls do not decide anything for certain. They only help the mods and captain make the best decisions for the guild.
=3
I'll be putting up another poll after this one to help determine where the shops may or may not be placed.

I know that having the IDD was the main reason that I became active in this guild. It gave me a place that I really could get a grip on because it moved slower than the main forum.
The problem is that the IDD and stores are both, by nature, slow moving threads. So, no matter where they're put, they'll fall quickly. They'll both get more attention in the main forums, but the stores would basically be spam and the IDD topics wouldn't get the thought out answers that they deserve.
RE: Guild Account — "They" keep saying that "they're" going to add more for the guild accounts to be used for (one example being guild halls in towns), but as of yet I have seen no proof.

"They" may never do it. I've lurked the Captain's Guild and complained.
Ugh...
How many shops do you see still active?
I count maybe 2.

Well, some shops update slower than others, but I suspect their owners consider them active. I still have 4 commissions to finish...sometimes it is slow going because real life gets in the way. But I do still post updates so people know I am working on their art.
I keep forgetting the guild gold is locked away only for sub forums...why did they design it that way? Sigh. This is why my guild ended up with so many sub forums...and most of them have seen no action....although it seems the ATG sure has the gold to burn for sub forums, lol.

We could make an extra-special sub-forum for... No, maybe not. Thaliat Everwood I keep forgetting the guild gold is locked away only for sub forums...why did they design it that way? I think that they did it to protect against greedy guild Captains. Funny, that's really the only protection a guild has against its Captain... Jaft I've lurked the Captain's Guild and complained. Yeah, but "they" have to make sure that the upgrades won't negatively affect other systems. Not to mention putting in enough content to warrant such a big change.

124-C Thaliat Everwood I keep forgetting the guild gold is locked away only for sub forums...why did they design it that way? I think that they did it to protect against greedy guild Captains. Funny, that's really the only protection a guild has against its Captain... Well, I suppose some protection may be warranted...although any Captain who would elect to rob their own guild really shouldn't start a guild in the first place. Guilds under greedy Captains probably would fail fast anyway. I'm not sure how else Gaia could protect guilds...though a guild with co-Captains in theory is protected, unless it is the co-Captain that abducts the guild. Having co-Captains is a bit of a double edged sword. Anyway, I still don't see much of a point in keeping the Marketplace as there are so few active shops. It seems almost dead in there lately. I find it odd that so many people want to keep it, yet the active shops are so few in number. Are that many people actually shopping in the Marketplace...or do they just browse...or maybe it is the appeal of the option to have a shop? Regardless of the reasoning, the guild members are voicing their opinions, and that is very good!

I don't know that getting rid of the Market would be good but I do know there are several pages of threads that could get deleted. confused

The only point I see in keeping it is if the people owning the threads in the Marketplace intend to someday return to the threads and resurrect them. Otherwise it seems nearly dead. That is kind of sad...
