"I-I made a-a promise to-to your family th-that I-I would bring y-you home. I-I plan on sticking to-to it." he said simply, "...Al-Also I-I like th-the travelling & I-I c-can hold my-my own." After some more stretching, Arron sat down, leaning against a tree.

Talbot frowned, nodded, and decided to leave it at that for now. As long as he protected Arron along this trip, he didn't need to worry about anything. After taking a bit of a break, the group moved on again. It was getting to be noon when they finally saw another town, but they passed it and kept pressing on. As they went, the familiar sight of battlefields spread out in front of them. Weapons of all kinds were littered over the war-torn earth below Atticus's mighty paws. " It's less safe in this area, so please keep your guard up." he said quietly, then motioned for Atticus to proceed with caution. It hurt him to see such sights again, but he had grown up with them, so they effected him a lot less than they would have if this were otherwise.

The mechanic was quiet for most of the way. He had been through an area similar with the lion & would be vigilante.

A sound suddenly rang through the air. It was a shout of some sort, but words were not shouted. Instead, it sounded more like a war cry. Sure enough, just in view, two separate groups of warriors charged at each other, one group in black and blue, the other in white and gold. Talbot froze and studied the battle from where they were. "It isn't safe to be this close. We need to get out of here. Atticus, take us on a longer route please." he said quietly.Atticus nodded, and shifted his footing so that he was running in a different direction. It would be a less direct route to the kingdom, but that meant it was safer.

Being jerked suddenly nearly caused him to fall over backwards off of the beast's back. Fortunately, he managed to cling to the lion. Arron unintentionally let out a small yelp of surprise from the sudden movement.

Talbot smiled apologetically, but that smile quickly faded when Atticus stopped running. Ahead of them, another battle, and just as fierce as the other. They were stuck in between the two warring groups. "This is bad..." the knight said quietly. He saw a knight in black begin to charge them, lance at the ready. "Atticus, forward, quickly!" Talbot urged, pulling his sword from its sheath quickly. They charged head-first over to the charging knight, his horse letting out a loud screech-like whinny. Before the two could collide, Atticus faked to the side, and Talbot used a strong kick to knock the other knight right off of his horse. "Let's charge on, we can't be stopped here." he said, ready to deflect any incoming attacks. For the first time, it really appeared like he was a knight, just as he'd claimed to be.

Through the battlefield, Arron's mind had gone blank. He had not been expecting to put in the battlefield. The surprise had rendered the mechanic a mute. He could only cling to Atticus & hope they would make it out safely, otherwise he would have pulled a weapon from his bag & would be ready to defend the trio.

They charged on, Talbot deflecting all manner of weapons and even magical attacks with his sword, keeping a sharp eye on the path ahead. He made sure Atticus was all right as they ran, and they'd managed to dodge everything that came at them to that point. The groups upon groups of fighting knights and bishops and every other kind of warrior began to thin as they charged through, and more of them appeared to be from the white kingdom the further they went, as it was closer to their place of origin. Just as they were making it through, a white blade was tossed through the air, and met its mark in Talbot's body, sending him tumbling off of Atticus and onto the ground. He had not expected to be aimed at by those of his same kingdom.Atticus let out a ferocious roar, and stopped there, ready to protect his fallen comrade as well as the one on his back still.

The tumble off of Atticus made the mechanic snap to reality. "TALBOT!" he yelled scrambling for his friend. Once he was close, he ripped off his sleeve to try & staunch the bleeding, looking to where the sword had come from.

The blade had lodged itself into Talbot's shoulder, buried deep enough to be a trouble to remove. The knight was still conscious when he saw Arron above him, but he had to blink rapidly to stay that way. "Arron... get on....Atticus and..." he started to say, but choked on some of his own blood in the process.Atticus locked eyes on the one that had tossed the blade, as she was quickly approaching. She seemed to be making her way over to him, likely having assumed that due to Talbot's dark skin and hair, he was an enemy that had taken another knight's lion and was charging to the kingdom to attack. The lion let out another roar, and got ready to attack.

The young man was shaking his head, bandaging the wound the best he could without removing the sword. It would certain death for his friend if it was removed without proper care. He picked up the knight & put him on the lion's back. "Atticus, get to the gates." he said when he finally saw the knight responsible.
It was if the entire world had come to a standstill for the Lythcol mechanic. The only thing he saw was the woman making her advanced. His body crystallized, quicker than ever before. Something in Arron had snapped, & it wanted blood. He charged at the woman.

Talbot clung to Atticus's fur, having little energy to do much else. His mind was a fog, even through the pain that bit at his shoulder like a thousand teeth. Even as he lost consciousness, his grip did not loosen on his lion companion. The woman saw Arron as an immediate threat, and pulled out another blade. She was merely a rook, but that meant she had two blades that were battle ready. She prepared herself for the attack, and got ready to battle.

What was left of the mechanic slammed its fist into the ground, sending up crystal spikes in all directions. They would harm anyone in the way. However, it would most likely make enough of a distraction for Atticus & Talbot to get to safety.

Several warriors were sent flying back, a few on their lion mounts. The rest instantly saw the threat, and charged forward, all throwing attacks at once in an effort to take this new enemy down.Atticus carried Talbot on, distancing them from the battlefield the best he could. He looked back once or twice, but had no time to stop. They were still incredibly far from the kingdom, but he would press on until they made it, even if he had to exhaust himself to do so.

The attacks made their marks, only to have the weapons become stuck, lodged in the crystal. It soared upward. What was left of the mechanic had the appearance of his counterpart, only this thing was mindless. It was bent on rage & destruction of both sides of the war. It sent down crystal spikes raining down on its foes.
