"He one of those ye sicked on me tail from time to time?" asks Bez cocking his head to one side.

"Hardly..." says Tam with a sharp bark of bitter laughter. "He's just a cub... don't ye go scaring the heck out f him, ye hear. Ye threaten him and I'll..."

"Tear into my other shoulder? Fine... fair enough." grumbles Bez softly closing his eyes. "Just what I need... a matched set."

"Bez...." whispers the tiny lion, tears rolling down his cheek. "I... I..."

"Hush... I deserved it... told ye so... an' I meant it. Just as I mean what I'm about to say right now... what happens from here on out is up to ye, Ai... but I hope ye don't exclude me from yer life...."

Tam sighs. "I... I don't know... it certainly wouldn't be a match set.... look at me.... I'm even smaller than Salunia. What... what happened to me.... last I knew I... I was asking for Kero's search spell to work... I... I knew it wasn't strong enough to reach her.... and... and I knew he... he didn't want me.... and..." Suddenly Tam falters, realizing what he's saying. Moaning he buries his face in his paws and begins to shake.

'I'll try...." says Bez quietly, "But this is Ai... not Tam.... in case ye haven't noticed. With him, things sometimes need to be shown, not said..." He nuzzles the little lion gently and tries to get him to drop his paws. "Ai... no one is pointing any fingers at ye, least of all me.... " he murmurs softly. "What happened... tell me... I left ye with Kero... told him to watch over ye... so what happened after that... tell me..."

Tam shakes his head without looking up. "Ye'll just get mad and it's not his fault... I... I never...." sobs the lions mournfully. "I never should have.... it wasn't right... soooo cold....." his teeth are chattering so hard it makes everyone's jaws ache to hear it.

"Nothing happened... alright.. nothing... not one single solitary thing..." growls Tam angrily. "He spouted something about you stopping him... us... whatever... doesn't really matter... he was right... and I was a fool... So I waited until he and I could talk... I wanted to apologize.. something... I'm not sure what I wanted... fer being such an idiot but when I came down the stairs and saw him trying to find Tes, I... I ... ran... I couldn't face him... I'm such an idiot... such a damned idiot... He's a kid and I'm... I'm...."

"Not much better than one when it comes right down to it..." says Bez gently licking his nose. "Ai... think about it... when have ye ever truly fallen in love with anyone... present company not withstanding.... look at ye... trust me... I've been doing a lot of that lately... I won't go so far as calling ye and idiot or a mess... but yer mixed up.. confused... things are happening inside of ye ye've never experienced before... It's one thing to talk of love... it's another to experience it...'

Tam moans and buries his head. "He's got ears like a rabbit... he can hear his name three planes away...."

"Ah... the infamous Pyropian I assume." says Bez with a sour chuckle.

"Infamous... dear lord, I hope not." laugh Pyropian.

Tam shrinks back against Bez as though to protect him. Looks a bit outlandish, when one comes right down to it, a tiny red lion trying to protect a huge plack panther.

"Bezernia hasn't done a thing... and I did not summon Pyropian... It's... it's all a big mix up... sorry, Lord Honorian.." whispers Tam worriedly.

"Deceive you... what the heck did ye tell him this time, Pyropian?" grumbles Tam relaxing a little but not overly much.

"You, I've seen before.." says Bez quietly. "If I remember rightly, ye nearly burnt me wings off one night...."

Bez sighs. "I stood up for what I thought was right... I now know I was wrong... Ye ever make a mistake? Naw, not ye... yer too perfect... "

"Bez..." whispers Tam worriedly. I wouldn't get him mad at ye iffin I were ye..."

"He's too honorable to attack a wounded creature... one who wishes him no harm and both he and I know it. I expect I'm safe..." says Bez in a disgusted voice. ""He's just one of those people who likes to lord his goodie two shoes attitude over those he sees as being beneath him."
