You know, some of my favorite iconographic imagery is that of a saintly person eating a book (it represents obtaining great knowledge)

Is eating a record pretty much the same thing, only more musical?

Hardly saintly but yea, pretty much a literal intake of musical influence/talent.
Though your comment reminds me of a present that I've gotten one year since I collect kids books: "The Incredible Book Eating Boy" by Oliver Jeffers

What icon was it by the way? (any particular one you've seen?)
