When did you? sweatdrop

And I've quite the twisted sense of humor. surprised

I dunno know, Fallout 3 for starters.. anyway, twisted sense of humor or not, I thought Borat was mildly funny, imo in no definition "amazing" though. Same with Bruno, Scary movie series, and those other parody movies such as Meet the Spartans.

All I want is for Harry to get alot better, he's only got one year left, and so much to learn. (never read it btw)

One more year, but two movies...

And like always...the books are -much- better than the movie, specially because they cut out like half the book on several of the movies. I've got them if you'd like to read them. Though I'm sure your mother has them aswell. surprised

And maybe I was exaggerating a bit with 'amazing', but it was much funnier than the Scary movie series, and other parody movies that I've seen...And I feel that much more time was put into the movie than the parody movies, though that's likely because it was a situation that very likely could have happened if they weren't taught American properly.

Blessed Blade
I heard Borat wasn't nearly as bad as it looked, and is in fact especially valuable for the social commentary it provides.

On another note, why was the quality of Harry Potter 6 so much higher than the previous 4 movies? I haven't like a one of them since the first one. 6 on the other hand wasn't bad at all. What happened? The last scene didn't put a nice cap on, so it left a little bit of bad taste, but other than that, it was well-paced, dramatic, and occasionally genuinely humorous.

Though I'm still pissed about the way the higher level wizards fly around as puffs of smoke. Not only is it not in the books (Voldemort was exceptional because he could fly without a broom), but it's retarded to boot.

They didn't even get into the non-verbal spells taught to the 6th year students, in the movie. surprised

And agreed with the flying around as smoke. It was only added for theatrical value.

Yeah, but I can forgive them for leaving out that detail. That's the thing about turning books into movies. Books can be filled full of interesting detail, but they're read over the course of 10-50 hours, so you've got plenty of leeway. With a movie you've got a bare maximum of 3 hours to keep the thralling masses entertained with pretty sounds and colors. You've got to keep things short, and some details have to go.

The Scary Movie series flops because they have low budgets and they don't take themselves as serious humorists. They don't seem to understand when something is actually funny, and isn't at all. The insistance on potty/sex jokes completely underistimates their audience, I think. But they don't have good directors, and someone keeps demanding that the screen writers add in bad jokes along with the good ones.

True, but also on that note...they have to add in things that the book didn't to make the aesthetics of the movie accurate. It can be hard to portray certain things in the movie, and some visual effects might be needed to give it that extra umph.

Put these two things together and you end up with high level characters doing absolutely ridiculous things. Instead of a legitimate power like casting without saying the spell, they have a "for special effects purposes" abilities like flying around as puffs of smoke.

A little of this, a little of that. Though, I make it a point to be the last one to post.

I...don't know how to reply to that, other than it's offtopic.

I enjoyed G.I. Joe, all up until the last few minutes when Cobra Commander put on his helmet. Why didn't they make it the same as the show?

I haven't seen G.I.Joe yet, but it looks good.

Apparently it's reviews say it's terrible and worse than Transformers.
