"Yep..." says Emnast proudly. "And a very fine hole it is, too.:
"Why, in heaven's name, were you digging a hole..?" laughs Tam shaking his head.

*Kero chuckles to himself, as Emnast Answers Tam*
Why, to put something in, of course.

Tam shakes his head and sighs. "Everyone in this place is a clown these days. So... I'll bite what are you putting in this hole, Em?"
Emnast chuckles heartily. "Why me, of course." he answers flippantly.

*Kero laughs*
Yep...Em's built himself a cave...rather shocking, really...at his age, I'd have assumed he wanted to live close to you, Tam...in case he had a nightmare, or something...totally shocking...and
*Dodges a shock of a different sort, sent his way by Emnast*
There's more where that came from, Lucy!

Tam laughs softly to himself. "So you found a place to call yer own, did you? I am glad Em. And ignore that old sourpuss. He's just jealous. He thought he had this nice quiet cave and it's become grand central station."

That's it...I'm going back to the Void....*Disappears....then Tam and Emnast find themselves pied in the face....custard cream, if you please...and Kero disappears, laughing, into his cave*

"Now we both need a bath." sighs Tam sadly. "Pasa..." he calls to the boy who is fast at work rigging several drying racks upon which to hang his fish. "Could you watch the cubs for me while I go and rinse this off?"
"I could just lick it clean, dulcha." comes a rumbling voice from the entrance way of their cave.
Tam snorts softly and shakes his head "I don't think so... yer just looking for another reason to get me alone... I know ye.:
Bez chuckles. "Can't plame me for trying."

*Kero laughs, poking his head out of the cave*
Actually, Tam, it's best if he does...wouldn't do for you to catch cold, and it has gotten cooler here, lately...
*Winks at Bez, miming out "Chapter One" with his fingers*

"Ye should listen to Kero." says Bez with a chuckle. Come inside and we'll get ye cleaned up. Em... can ye help Pasa with the girls?"

*After licking the pie off his own face, Em gladly takes Ari while Pasa sees to Mara, leaving Tam alone with Bez for the first time in a while...Kero winks at them as they come in, and Em looks at him*
So, what exactly is Chapter one, anyways?
*Kero laughs*
Well....I'm not saying....I wrote that book on a dare from Jor, Em...and believe me, had I known how much people who have copies would use it, I would put it on the market. Besides, they need some privacy, now don't they...and we should give it to them...that book is aptly named, let me assure you...

Several hours later, as Kero is cleaning up his kitchen he is startled. Not realizing that Tam has more lion in him than mere appearances and capable of moving without making noise, he finds himself pinned down against the counter and a purring voice from behind him whispers in his ear.
"You are an evil man... an evil evil evil man.... but I love ye."
And then he is gone.
Kero wills himself to stop shaking and shakes his head angrily. "Damn fool... I could have..." Then he pauses, remembering a time when the two of them had made a game out of sneaking up on each other, and smiles. Chuckling he finishes the task, planning his next move carefully.

Pasa looks up and smiles thinly at him. He shows Kero his math work but cringes when he does so for the paper is covered with smudges and erase mark. "Lady Rhea says multipilaction is important, but it's so hard..." he grumbles testily.

*Kero smiles*
It's okay, Pasa....you can smudge and erase all you want....you have yet to see my notes...crossouts, blots, smudges, erase marks...whole pages crumpled up and thrown on the floor in frustration. As long as you get the right answer, it's okay. If you feel bad about it, get them all right, then copy it out fresh, with only the right work shown.

"I can do that? That's good. But I'm not sure I'm right. That last probelm was really really hard. How do you solve for the speed of a cross country train anyway and what is it?"
