"But I wasn't angry... I just don't understand..." she moans sadly. "You tell me to do things but not why. Your whys don't make a lot of sense to me. I'll get a reward... it will clear my thoughts... I don't want a reward, I just want to do things right... and how can you clear a thought? Why would you clear a thought?"
**sorry, but Ari is a thinker... that sort of mindset might have worked with Mara... Ari needs a bit more information. You've ignored her (in her eyes) for what seemed like forever, now you just demand she do things with little true explanation... let me ask you this.... would that approach have worked with you?**

*Kero smiles...a girl after his own heart*
Okay, kiddo. You want to know why, hm? *Spins off into a complicated explanation of why it was important for her to meditate, the reward she would receive, and how exactly to go about clearing one's mind, as well as why it was important*
Patience is everything, kiddo. Only when your mind is calm and clear can you feel the whisper of either type of power deep within you.
**Clear the mind, center in, feel the power deep within. Clear your mind of fear and doubt. Feel the power reaching out. Wrap the power round a cup. Feel the power lifting up....**

**lol... poor Ari, first ye don't give enough then it's the dump truck treatment... still she's heard enough to understand a little, enough to give it a try...**
Shaking her head with a tiny smile, wondering if she'll ever understand this mysterious older sometimes brother of hers, Ari finds a comfortable spot to sit and tries to center herself. That much she thinks she understands. Bez has taught them a little of self defense, even as a cub, and if centering oneself mentally is anything like centering oneself physically, she could see it's benefit. But she soon learns it is a whole lot harder than it sounds.

*Kero starts humming to her*
Ground and center, we begin Feel your shape inside your skin Feel the earth and feel the air Ground and center, how and where.

She tries again, taking a deep cleansing breath, she lets it out slowly, centering her body and reaching for that stillness she sometimes feels duirng her morning exercises with Daddy. Why she is focusing on that she really doesn't know, except it feels right.

*Kero nods, softening his singing until it is part of her thoughts*
Ground and center, feel the flow Can you tell which way to go Instinct's not enough, my friend Make it reflex in the end

And loses it. Coming back into herself with a snap, Ari groans. "I'm hungry. I almost get it then my tummy growls. Can't we go get something to eat?"

*Kero shakes his head*
You will have to learn to do this when you are both hungry and full. I am sorry, Ari, but until I am satisfied you can ground and center, you and I will sit here, and meditate.

She quirms a little, pouting, then sighs and tries again, once again reaching for that stillness she's only touched for brief fleeting moments in the past.

Ground and center, don't just frown Find the leaks and lock them down Baby games you never learned Bring you pain you've never earned

Slowly her breathing evens out, until she seems to sit in a pool of stillness.
"Well, that certainly took you long enough..." a vaguely familiar voice muses in her head.

"Of course it took me forever to learn how and you did it in a few hours, so I don't know what I'm complaining about..." the voice seems to come from a hazy corner, though how a space which seems to have no boundaries can have a corner confounds Ari's sensibilities.
"Who's there?" she demands, ignoring Kero, stalking over to where the voice seems to come.
"Come now... is that a polite way to speak to anyone? " comes the voice from behind her this time.
"This is my head... and I don't remember inviting you in." states Ari firmly.
"True... true... but then I've always been here..."
"Heh....?" stammers Ari in confusion.
"Well, aren't you going to ask who I am?"
"I... I already did...."
"Politely..." the voice moves around her just out of sight.
Ari sighs and hangs her head. "Very well. Please tell me who you are?"
"That's better... because you see... I'm you... sort of..." says Shia stepping into view.
Ari's eye's grow big and round.

Shia shrugs. "I got her attention, didn't I?"
"What is that supposed to mean?" demands Ari testily.
Shia smiles sweetly at her. Look at me, what do you see?"
"Granmama..." states Ari boldly.
Shia laughs. "Hardly, though I'm sure there is a resemblence."
