Then it comes to him, a eureka moment that makes him cringe in it's simplicity. All he needs to do is create a tunnel to drain the melt away as he burns his way through. Now if only he had some help. (ahem... where was Hope going hunting anyway...?)

It doesn't take long for Hopian to join him. He takes one look at Tes and does a double take, then turns to Kero and freezes in his tracks. "Kero, what the heck, it's a cold as a morgue in here and yer shivering like yer ill, what's going on?"

"Daddy, it cowld..." complains Salunia through chattering teeth.

Tes looks down at the shivering cub and offers to take her back outside. "I'm only in the way and she can play with Gwee..." she says with her blunt sound reasonableness.

Tes nods and leads the cub out, making Kero grateful in more ways than one. It was obvious that the little lion had not seen who was lying in the ice. Had she seen the red fur, she would have panicked. This way they could work without her going into hysterics.

He examines the ice and tries to figure out the best way to burn through it.

Hopian is soon back at his side frowning. "What the hell was he thinking, embracing the ice in a cave... idiot... how ye going to get to him anyway? If ye use a salamander they're going to get too dang cold.... maybe iffin ye had a large enough fire fer them to warm themselves in and they took turns..."

By the time he has all the logs piled side the cave, Kerobian has worked out how he's going to approach it.

After a bit he begins to see him clearly. At least he thinks it is him for there is a tiny red rather sexless lion with limp golden wings lying in a shallow puddle of melt.

Shar asks no questions, not at first. Instead after feeling for a pulse and finding one though it is barely more than a tenuous thread, she snatches up a towel and begins to rub the tiny body as roughly as she can. She instructs Kerobian to warm a blanket by the fire and asks Tes to fill the tea pot.

"I'm trying to get it's circulation going here... Where did you find it, poor thing.... it was practically frozen solid..... then we'll submerge it in a warm bath to warm it up. I want the blanket to wrap it in once I get it's body temp up a bit...."

In no time, because it is so small, Shar has it's body temp up to what she thinks may be normal or at least close to it. "I'm basing it on your temp as a cub, Kero..." she says thoughtfully wrapping the tiny body in a blanket and placing it on one of the beds in her clinic. She feels for a pulse and nods. "At least the body is responding not sure if the brain is going to recover though. That is a hit and miss sort of thing. You never told me where you found it. It sure is a cute little thing isn't it. I've never seen a lion this small before... And those wings... so thin and barely functional.... I wonder if it can fly or if it's a throw back. Don't think it's a cub though. Doesn't quite look like one..."
