Arious ran as fast as he could be noticed Shira getting cooler. Either she was recovering or... well... going the other way. "Damn... Shira! Say something... If you die, I don't want your brother having a rage on me! Come on! We're almost there!" Sweat burned his eyes but he ignored it. His hand band loosened, allowing his long hair to flap about behind him.

The pegasus flapped its wings and bellowed furiously as it sped toward something in the forest.

"You must not be deceived! It is almost too late!"

((Squueak!!! I finally got the top of the page!!! WOOO NUMBER 800!!!! HEHEHEEEE!!!!! I've been trying to do that since I joined this rp over a year ago... I know how nerdy that is.... but still.... SQUUEEE!!!!))

By pushing at the lava, Shira managed to make some space inside the little cocoon of lava she was in. She looked around, noticing the area with the most light was to her left, so she began pushing at the lava around there. Was it the way out? Or was she tunneling deeper into the bowels of the volcano? She didn't care. She simply wanted out. Luckily for Shira, she was tunneling to the top, and soon broke the surface and took a deep breath of non-volcano air.

Shira took a shaky breath. At the very least, she was alive. Something was different. Very different.

Larken stalked Arious with precision, his senses honed by years of stalking his sister- the Triforce's vessel, he told himself. He was becoming far too familiar with his target- something he never should have let happen. Still... Arious seemed to be heading towards the river. Larken frowned. The most likely explanation was that the mage was going to drown Shira. He quickened his pace.

(What do you think the volcano really is? Arious almost hit upon it.)

Kazelina heard the voice in her ead once again. What was it talking about? Don't be deceived? "What are you talking about? Who are you?" She asked. Was he talking about the pegasus?

(I would say the volcano has something to do with Larken. Perhaps the fact that they are both linked together? And, there is that thing with triforce inside of her.)

Arious was panting from the run across the field, but he didn't give up. However, his magic hummed and he knew that Shira was somehow still with him. But with his magic sense he felt a new odd sensation about her. Arious began nearing the river to his relief. He felt an itching but ignored it concentrating on Shira at the moment. Something was following him but his determination for helping Shira had him consumed. "Shira... If you can hear me... say something!" He gasped trying to keep his breathing even.

The pegasus reared as it neared a horrid beast with thousands of yellow eyes and black scaled tentacles. They seemed to be reaching for Kazelina and the winged horse. One of the black things wrapped around the horse's throat making it whinny in fear and stamp the ground frantically.

"Do not let it capture you!"

Kazelina was thrown off the horse when he was stomping around. As she hit the ground, she felt the wind being knocked out of her lungs. She struggled to take a deep breath, and then tried to get up and run away, but tripped and fell flat on her face. Without hesitation, she shook it off and made it to her feet. However, one of the tentacles had found its target and headed straight for Kazelina. She turned around and blew back with the wind, making the beast hit itself in one of its many eyes. This, however, only served in making it angry. Kazelina took the chance to dart off. Perhaps, if she could find a large pond or lake, she would be able to hide from the thing. "Luckily, I can breathe underwater." Kazelina spotted a small lake off in the distance. That would do. But, for now, she had to get out of the beast's sight. She heard several branches breaking and trees falling. The thing must have decided to focus on her. "I hope the horse is all right." She thought.

(Don't forget Treize, Lisaya.)

The pegasus suddenly swooped down next to her as she was running and neighed as if beckoning her to get on so they could fly away to safety. However the creature behind them lashed out with a tentacle barely missing Kazelina's leg.

"Do not let the creature get you! I am only trying to save you! Do not be decieved!"

Victoria gasped when she saw Treize before her. Immediately she called out. "Trinity! Bring a healer! Now!!!" She looked back down worried about her only sun and heir. She smoothed his hair back and examined his wounds carefully. "What happened?!"

Kazelina stared at the pegasus for a moment. Was this horse talking to her through telepathy? Either way, it seemed he was her only hope, if she wanted to survive. "Just don't get me into another mess!" She hopped onto the horse just in the nick of time. Another tentacle had almost wraped itself around her leg.

Tsunisa lowered her head. "... It's my fault. I... I wasn't paying attention and... Treize was standing near the edge of a cliff and... There were so many rocks in the water. I did my best with herbs, but..." Once again, tears poured from her eyes. She was afraid to look up at Victoria's face. She was only wanting to help him, but instead, she added physical injuries to his mental ones.

Shira balanced at the lip of the volcano. The shimmering tunnel of light that was the exit was at the beach. She cursed quietly before she remembered she controlled her mindscape. "This had better work," she muttered as she launched herself off the volcano, imagining the light tunnel moving directly beneath her. The world went white.

Shira coughed a few times. "Put me down," she muttered. She still felt warm, but her skin buzzed- an unwelcome sensation.

Arious shook his head as sat Shira near the edge of the water. He looked over her quietly. "You are awake?" He suddenly snapped his fingers making his numbing spell cease returning her sensory nerves back to normal. "I do not quite understand what happened... but the only thing I can think of is that when my magic was absorbed into you... It awoke some deep magic that lay dormant inside of you." He paused using his magic to search her lightly. "Well.. you do feel a little different..."

The pegasus started rising in the air to escape the creature below when it was blinded by a harsh white light.

"Don't fall into its trap!" The voice called out from inside the blinding white light. Suddenly the winged horse speeding toward the ground, in a frenzy. The white light began to fade. A cloaked figure was running toward Kazelina, reaching out with his hand to somehow grab her. However, instead of a pegasus, now stood a black ghostly creature with it's arms wrapped around Kazelina. It had bony bat-like wings and fangs that could sever the neck in one bite. It's long stringy black hair covered it's face except for where you could see its deadly teeth. It was almost human like except for the claws and wings. When the man came close to the creature, it screeched a high note making the man stop and keep his distance. "Wake up from the dream you are in! Do not let this fog deceive you! If you fall prey to it, you will become a mindless servant of the Valheru!"

Even though the man before Kazelina could see the truth, the girl only saw the illusion she was presented with. The morhedel (the creature posing as a pegasus) made it seem like he was talking and guard her from the evil...

Victoria brushed her son's hair out of his face, her expressionless face now showing signs of worry. "He feels so cold..."

"I don't feel very different... my skin just tingles," Shira replied, leaning over and touching the water. The buzzing sensation faded at her fingertips. Shira blinked. Had the water done that? "You did see that, right? The lava grabbing me?"

Larken watched. He didn't like this long-haired man. He had set Shira down in such away that he could easily push her into the river. Then Larken slapped himself. I sound paranoid, he thought. What was he doing, being so protective of his target? He needed to focus on destroying the target, not watching over it.

Kazelina's eyes widened when the horse turned into the hideous creature. She desperately struggled against his grip. "No! Let me go!" She focused on the wind and made a kind of barrier that forced the creature to let go and be blown back. Kazelina fell to the ground with a thud. She clenched her teeth in pain. She had landed on her knee. And, just like the multi-thousand eyed monster, he seemed to just get pissed off. She forced herself to her fet and started limping away. "H-help!" Kazelina saw the man in the distance. Whoever he was, he had to be beter than this creature of death. So, she made her way over to him, only to have her bad leg give out at about half way. "I-I can't stand!" She cried. Kazelina did her best to crawl over to him, but the hideous creature was beginning to gain on her.

Tsunisa kept her eyes to the ground. "I'm sorry... Please, is there anything I can do?" She asked.

Arious nodded slowly then sat down next to her resting his chin on his hands. "Yes... It is very odd how your own magic.. or mind rebelled against you. I have never heard of such a thing." He watched the water silently his mind drawn to his sister. She loved swimming. If he knew where she was.. only then could he save her. But from what he saw and felt.. He would need a lot of help, even with his renewed power.

The man closed his eyes then raised his hand into the air where a staff appeared. "Close your eyes! Do not look into the light, but follow its warmth!" The voice said. Suddenly light exploded from the crystal gem on the end of the staff making the creature screech in agony.

Suddenly a tall man entered the tent followed by an old healer. He sat next to Victoria and watched over Treize. His tone was harsh, but only from worry. "How could this have happened?! He would never just 'fall' off a cliff!" Victoria rested her hand on her husband's leg and tried to calm him. "Enough. Just let us concentrate on what can be done to save him." She motioned for the healer to tend to him. He looked at Tsunisa and shook his head silently before examining the man before him.

Shira shook her head. "If it was rebelling, I'd be in a coma." She dipped her feet in the water for a quick experiment. The tingling ceased. Her hunch grew stronger. "It wasn't rebelling. I know that. Maybe it was trying to do something else- grab my attention in the only way it knew."

(The rain stopped... calm before the storm, probably.)

(Hm? You mean with hurricane Irene?)

Kazelina closed her eyes and her ears. The creature's screech was devastatingly piercing. She did her best to crawl forward without passing out from the loud screeching. Finally, she felt someone's leg. She didn't know whose it was, but she prayed it was the man helping her.

Tsunisa flinched at the sound of the father's voice. She hesistantly looked up at the healer. "I-is he going to be all right...?" She bit her lip, knowing he was going to yell at her.
