He couldn’t help but smirk at the double take, he and his brother were more similar than most identical twins, at least in appearance anyway: they were almost complete opposites when it came to personality and strengths. Nils was the one who was always picked last for sports, had to work hard in school, but always seemed to have friends around and no shortage of people who would love to lend him a hand. Daisuke, well, despite not really having many friends, he always managed to become very popular whenever group work was assigned or people were composing teams in gym. They were even more similar when they were younger, before different lifestyles took their toll; in old photos of them, they couldn’t always pick out who was who. Probably why their parents had never gone in for the whole matching outfits idea with them. He was immediately brought out of this mischievous pleasure by the increased pressure on his hand. He tensed for a moment as he looked around to find what was making Hei-chan nervous, but all he could find was Sayuri. As far as he could tell, Hei-chan wasn’t trying to make Sayuri go away or anything, in fact they seemed to have about as pleasant a conversation as a gentleman and a young fangirl could. He stroked his thumb along the back of Hei-chan’s hand, hopefully in a soothing manner. Whatever it was about Sayuri that bothered him, it could all be worked out in the near future.
Sayuri was swept away in her own wonderland. She couldn’t believe she was getting to meet the father of her idol, and what’s more, he was almost as dreamy! He was so sweet and noble and elegant and thoughtful and so obviously similar to his son she could barely stand it. How the hell at Daisuke managed to rope him in? She loved Daisuke like a brother, but when she had pictured what sort of man he would date, she had never imagined someone so majestic. Ok, maybe if she pretended to be her future mother-in-law, she would be able to speak in a coherent manner. ((”I hope you all haven’t gone to too much trouble over us, but I am most grateful.” )) So far so good: she was still speaking coherently and hadn’t scared anyone off. For now, that was her only goal. ((“It is an honor to get to meet them, I can’t wait to get to know all of Daisuke’s second family!” )) She was positively beaming at the notion, though of course part of her happiness derived from the idea that she would have even more people to get info about Mitsuru-sama from. As soon as she found out from Nils that Daisuke was dating, she had looked the man up, most of the family had, so she knew the man before her probably wouldn’t have many current stories about Mitsuru, but he was bound to have a treasure trove of baby stories, and they were worth their word count in gold. ((“I don’t think there is such a thing as a normal family, just odd ones that work and odd ones that don’t. I am glad you all are one of the ones that works.” )) Daisuke was a little nervous with the comment, but before he could react or try to change the subject, his parents had made it over to them.
Daisuke braced for impact not a moment too soon. In an instant, he was engulfed by a giant bear hug that probably would have snapped him in half like uncooked angel hair pasta if it weren’t for the fact that his father was intentionally being very careful with him. {{“My beloved son, how we’ve missed you! I see the city has been treating you well,”}} he said with a glance towards Heisuke. {{“And this must be the gentleman we have to thank for taking such good care of our boy over here.”}} He grasped Heisuke’s hand as if to shake it, then pulled him in for a bear hug as well. At least to him, it seemed that Heisuke was more grace than brawn, so he was careful with him as well, all the same, it would have taken a pneumatic lift and a bucket of grease to have escaped that hug early. Daisuke sighed, then introduced them in the proper language, ((“Hei-chan, this is my father Kapitän Wilhelm Amsel. Dad, this is my boyfriend Akiyama Heisuke.” )) HIs mother was standing off to the side, watching the spectacle with what seemed like ambivalence. Daisuke moved his attention on to her. ((“And this is my mother, Amsel Himiko.“ )) She bowed slightly, ((“Thank you for the introduction, Daisuke, but Akiyama-san and I are already acquainted. Though I fear I did not make nearly so much of an impression on him as he did on me.” )) She made no motion to explain herself, she merely made room for Nils to approach once he finally arrived. He seemed a bit out of breath, but he was still smiling. ((“Awww, my little baby brother, so good to see you after so long!” )) Daisuke nearly withdrew his offer to hug, but begrudgingly he accepted, though the weak arm wrapping that Nils gave could scarcely be called a hug. He turned next to Heisuke and bowed deeply, ((“and it is such a pleasure to meet you, Akiyama-san. My brother has told me many good things about you, and it makes me so happy to know how much happiness you have brought him.” )) Daisuke couldn’t be particularly mad anymore, not after his brother’s kind words.
"But if to live, we have to be numb I'd rather know the pain I'd rather know, I'd rather know This happens almost never But it happened once to me And this will never be same The ends we seam together"

She was too damn cute when she was excited. She could have asked him for anything in the world, and he would have gotten it for her. He had absolutely no ability to say no to her, well, not unless he was keeping her from doing something dangerous. ”Even if I were dirt poor, I would find a way to send you over there, if it meant so much to you. There is practically nothing I would not do for you.” He was so tempted to ruffle her hair, but he resisted the urge. For all that she put up with his affection, he was quite certain a lot of it could be classified as babying, which was likely a tad embarrassing. Her quick dismissal of the boy’s significance only worked to further convince him that this boy was important, and he would soon need to meet the child in order to lay down some basic rules. Nothing too harsh of course, just the basic "treat her well and you shall never be without, hurt her and they will never find the body” speech.
The topic of family never bode well for either of them, but to hear her say that all she wanted was to be accepted, well, he had been formulating a plan for a while now, but he now had the evidence he needed to put it into action. He would of course speak with her about it first, but he was quite ready to proceed with actions to legally adopt her. He doubted there would be too much opposition, so he could be civil in the matter at first, but if Hana consented and her mother put up a fight, he would have no qualms about drawing this out into a full blown case, and he doubted she could afford the best lawyers. Later he would talk with her about it, but for now she seemed to want to avoid the topic. ”We pulled off a job last night, so I don’t think we will be trying anything soon. And before you complain about not getting to join us, let me state that I knew it would be somewhat dangerous, and I cannot in good faith put you in such a dangerous position. In a few days though, once we have had a chance to nurse our wounds, I think we could use you as our getaway, if you are up for it?” He knew she would be, seemed she really liked doing this work, or at least helping him out.
"Come, I show you the end You're damned Cause no one can defy me Just watch these maddened creatures Like you they all once reached out A war to win But I'm gonna burn this vision down"
Hana's face held back a stream of grateful tears, smiling so widely at Jasper that it seemed as if she had gone made for only the briefest of seconds. "Oh, thank you! Thank! Maybe I can talk to Kyo and see if he knows any places where we should go. What do you think is out in the city? Have you even met an American before? What are they like?" Question after question was flung at her uncle as Mokihana wanted to know everything that there was to the foreign land. Was it like Tokyo in any way? After the answers had been sufficient, she moved on and would start to think about the after-mentioned Kyo. They had hung out a good amount though neither of them actually knew each other's powers or even history. Hana didn't want to put Jasper at risk and would most likely invent some lie to cover for him. He could be a neighbor or some kind of benefactor. Something rich would have to do.
The discovery that another job had been done without her made the girl ready to get on her uncle for going alone had it not been for the addition of knowing that the job would be dangerous as to why Hana wasn't invited. It was understandable though she wasn't going to easily admit that. "Okay..." She pouted but listened to him speak about another job down the line. A chance for her to get out and actually contribute to how Jasper's team was run. A quick get away was always needed. "Totally! How many people are going to be on the job though?" she asked. "I can send people through portals, but after 4, I don't know how many others can get in without being spat out somewhere."

He entertained her questions about America, thought frankly he did not know very much. He knew a handful of laws and some of the bigger businesspeople and corporations, but not much about lifestyle and culture. And heaven forbid he ever attempt to learn their variant of English, otherwise known as incorrect English. He got the distinct feeling that the aspects he knew about America were not the sorts of thing that she was interested in, so it would be a learning experience for them both.
He duly noted and ignored her pouting, he had made a rule with himself never to get her involved if the job looked truly dangerous, and he wasn't about to feel guilty over sticking to that rule. Besides, if even he had been injured, the chances of her getting injured or him getting even more injured from trying to protect her were inordinately high. Despite the pout, she seemed to accept his line of reasoning well enough. He hoped she wouldn't get back at him with a playful punch; those were typically aimed at the shoulder, and with his luck, she would aim at the one that was actually injured. He would never hear the end of it if she found out he was actually injured, even if only a little bit. "Plans are still being finalized, but it should only be four individuals, plus you if need be. Question though, would it be possible for you to change a portal to random of your own volition? Meaning, once we are all back through, could you have the portal spit out any potential pursuers in random places? That could be a useful way to deter further pursuit." This was why he enjoyed scouting out new talent: what Hana likely saw as a drawback could in fact be quite the boon for them, as long as she could make sure that it truly did get switched to random once they were back through. Or if that didn't work, hopefully she would be able to close the portal quickly enough that few if any followed them back to their hideout.

The more that he had the opportunity to speak with her, the more the man relaxed. He would get used to the color of her hair eventually throughout the night he was sure. But it would take him a moment to shake his shock over it. For now, the man tried to keep his focus on the words she said and not the color of her hair. (("It is no trouble at all. We wanted to do our best to welcome the family of my cute Dai-chan." )) He said as he nudged the man next to him gently and gave a cheery smile. If there was one thing he was confident in, it was his relationship with Daisuke. The two liked each other very much, and that was important to him. (("It is also an honor to meet the family responsible for such a great person." ))
The bear hug shocked him a little bit, but he released the other's hand to help prevent him hurting Daisuke. it was cute to see family meet one another again. it was certainly less depressing than his own reunion with Mitsuru on the hospital. There were a lot of tears, I'm sorrys and latching onto one another. It was certainly emotional for him to see Mitsuru so grown up when the last time he saw the man, he was only 10 years old and a small child. As the two caught up, the man turned his attention to the woman who had been standing next to the bear hugger. He froze as he stared back at the woman whose face he immediately recognized. (("Himiko...you're his mother?" )) The man gave an awkward chuckle before he suddenly turned to Daisuke with a look of shock. (("Dai-chan, how old are you?! )) He exclaimed in his shock, his hand gripping the man's shirt as he looked at the man in fear.
(("Considering the fact that your mother is near my age, you couldn't be as old as me. How old are you exactly?" )) This should have been something that came up way sooner! Even as Daisuke had introduced his brother, he heard next to nothing as his face showed his clear shock.

This time she had actually caught the nickname, and it left her stunned. Not even his own brother was allowed to give him a nickname, yet this man threw one out as if it was second nature. Was the man some sort of social wizard or something, to be able to win people over so easily? She didn't have a chance to ask about it before the rest of the family was there and she needed to move out of the way so they could be introduced. This put her at a great vantage to see the potential drama that was about to ensue.
Despite her legendary calm demeanor, the moment that Akiyama-san said her name, she couldn't help but blush slightly. By his words and expression, it was obvious that he remembered her. She had never known that her beloved senpai had noticed her, and she almost hated herself for falling into the cliche, but she couldn't help but become a little flustered to know that this nondescript kouhai had been noticed all of those years ago. Well, she had been the captain of the kendo team for two years in a row, and given that he was only one grade older, he may have known she held that title, but she couldn't imagine that was a great enough distinction to make her noticeable in the sea of fangirls that had swirled around him throughout high school. Of course as soon as the age of the mother was known, the age of the son had to be called into question. She and Nils exchanged a look, before discreetly excusing the family to go check airport stuff. They didn't bother with a more concrete excuse, the main purpose was just to minimize spectators.
Nils had to admit, it was sort of hard not to see this coming. He loved his brother dearly, but the man had the social acumen of a banana slug, yet the poise and aura of someone twice his age. People constantly assumed he was much older than he really was, and it would never occur to Daisuke to preemptively correct them. Factor in what he knew about the expunged criminal record, and it felt like he was watching a train wreck in slow motion.
Daisuke had to admit, he hadn't realized the two knew each other, but they were roughly the same age and from the same city, so the probability was sufficiently high to be believable. However, he was a little perturbed when Hei-chan started asking him his age. It was a strange question, but it was mainly his love's tone that worried him. There was almost a pleading panic to it, as if Daisuke's answer would spell either eternal bliss or eternal damnation. Then when his family quickly excused themselves...he was certain now that he was either missing or failing to pick up on some vital clue, which could jeopardize everything. Was Hei-chan afraid that he was a minor looking for big league adult action? The fact that Daisuke was a teacher should have made it clear that was not the case, so what was the issue? (("...you couldn't be as old as me" )) wait...did Hei-chan really think they were the same age!? Did Daisuke really come off as being that much older than he really was? If that was the case, he felt like he had been lying the whole time and not even realized his own deceit. (("I...I'm twenty-two. I realize now that is probably a lower number than you were expecting, but I never meant deceit. I just...never thought to mention it. Is...is it going to be a problem for us?" )) His fear mirrored Hei-chan's own in level, but maybe not in origin. Daisuke never meant to lie about himself, and now he felt as if he had been caught in one, and that his whole world (aka Hei-chan, for Daisuke had everything he could ever want so long as he had his true love) was about to leave him for it.

So it looked like that plan was a go, even if it was just in the starting stages of it. She would super psyched at the chance of getting to stretch her wings a bit with Jasper and his crew. Her mind wandered to what kinds of thing that would be needed for such an assignment. Would they be dropped in the middle of a desert like in all those movies? Or were they going somewhere more local, such as one of the banks in the city? What about all the cool places outside of Japan as well? Who knows what kind of trouble they'd get themselves into? Though Jasper's question caught her off guard. "You mean like if we're through and people are coming, can I make them go somewhere else?" At least that's what she figured he was referring to. "I can, but I'd need to see what they look like first. If somebody enters one of my portals, I just know somebody is in them, not who. So I gues...I kinda have to watch who comes in or is coming...provided I'm not unconscious if an entire army follows us. I tried that with a couple of friends in 7th grade once." Hana said while rubbing the back of her head. "I woke up an hour later with everyone in random spots around town."
He nodded, figuring in the information she had provided. ”Yes, in case a few someones or perhaps an object were to pursue, it would be nice to divert them. Of course I would let you know once all of us were through. It would do more to disorient them than simply closing the portal, though of course if it seems like too many coming, closing would be infinitely better than letting them get to us. I shall leave it up to you.” That would be the main thing she needed to get used to working with his team, or hopefully most any team: there were set objectives and a basic plan, but it was up to you to hold up your end of the job and do what would work best. If Hana thought she could send the pursuers elsewhere, then that was what she should do, but if not, it was up to her to close the portal. She would have to make the decision, not any of them. ”We will enter the old-fashioned way, but you will be in charge of getting us out of there and to our safe room. You have been there a few times, but do you need to visit once more to align things?” He removed his arm from around her shoulders. While he was still and would always be her doting uncle, they were talking business right now, and there was no room for gentleness in business. Frankly, he would have preferred to speak of other things, but Hana seemed to love these missions, so he would indulge her for the time being. ”Worst case scenario: there will be a firefight. Are you up to that pressure?” Of course he would even use his own body to shield her from such combat, but she still needed to be able to focus while bullets were wizzing by.

Whoaaa.... Was the only thing Kyo could ever say to himself as he looked around. So Hana lived here? The town was so amazing, and seeing the place not be as busy since it was a weekday, made it look way bigger today. It's like an amusement park. That's a huge ferris wheel! Kyo said excited. It was weird, because he was used to tall buildings every day where he lived, but here it looked like he was in Disney World. Guess you made the right choice showing me around, huh? He said to Hana as the two would walk together, holding each others hand. While Kyo would look at her, he smiled since she looked really cute. It was actually nice to see her be more vibrant than in school like the first time he met her. Kyo was just glad he could help. So, what would you suggest we do first? Kyo asked her.

Hana roamed around the city with Kyo, dressed up all nicely for their outing. She would act as the tour guide for their trip there and begin to poit out everything that they passed beside. Of course Hana wouldn't be able to see any of it but with some help from her phone in the other hand, the girl turned into a walking encyclopedia of information. From stories of the greatest hero battles that occured here, to local rumors about a strange yokai running about, no stone was left unturned.
"Yeah, there's a lotta cool stuff to do around here. There's an aquarium, the ferris wheel like you said, anyplace you wanna go is fine by me."
Her hand inside of Kyo's would gently squeeze it to offer him assurance. A bright smile was painted on her face as she couldn't help herself. This was a pretty good start to a day. Better than what she had in weeks.

Kyo looked around everywhere with awe and amazement in his eyes to the point where he looked like a tourist. He loved going on vacations the most with his parents. Even if they weren't his real parents, the fun time they had together was the most of it all. Yet now he's spending all this time with Hana, and it was not just fun, but it was like all the worries of the world had left him. When it got to the local rumor of a yokai, Tsuchigumo tensed up inside of Kyosuke. Y-yokai!? Tell me they do not recognize me, right? Can I be certain I will be safe here!? The spirit said within Kyosuke. He basically pinched his own arm in order to quiet down the spirit. When she asked which to go first, Kyo looked up at the Ferris wheel, and pointed up to it. Let's try the ferris wheel then! Kyo decided, as he would lead Hana with him towards the large wheel. After getting the tickets, he gave them to the man who let them on the ride. Thanks to the small crowd, the line wasn't even that long, or any much of a problem. As the two would get in the cart, the machine began, which caused the cart to slowly rise up in the air. Whoa.... The castle looks so big from here... Kyo said, looking out the window to where the LeVane is. He was really enjoying the view, as he would hold Hana close to him.

Hana was having fun. The trip was a good distraction from her own mental health that usually impeded the majority of her day. Plus, spending it with Kyo and showing him to all of the different places was something sort of like a treat in itself. Their hands never left one another, fingers entwined as his pale ones mashed against her tanned digits. When it came to choosing what place to stop at first, Kyo decided upon the ferris wheel. Always a good choice. "I love getting to the highest point. It feels as if you could just step off and fly."
They obtained tickets, Kyo's treat, and would get in. The crowd wasn't as large as it usually was, mostly on account of the weather. Sure it was a bit rainy and moist, but it wasn't so awful that a ferris wheel rid would be unbearable. They got in together and would sit together. Motion brought the wheel all around as Hana moved along with Kyo as he went to gaze around the surrounding areas. He sounded just like a kid that was seeing a view from atop the tallest point in the town for the first time. Then that word came up again. Hana moved some hair out of her face and would frown. "Yeah..." she trailed off. "What does it look like? Can you describe it for me?" The girl looked over at Kyo as he was holding her.

For a while, Kyo had been looking out into the sky, remembering his first time with his web shooters. Nothing spelled fear more than knowing your invention could screw up and get you killed. Still, Kyo was glad they worked. Since then, heights like this were always his favorite. That all changed as soon as he heard Hana. Then it all came back to him that moment. She can't see at all. Kyo knew that if anything, he'd make it his own mission to make it so her eyes can work. Someway somehow. It's actually kinda hard to describe, heheh... but I can tell you that it'll be scary at first, but when you see the sky, it's complete euphoria. Kyo said to her, as he held her hands and held Hana close. Looking into her eyes, even if they lost their sight, she wasn't any different to him. Hana, I swear, I'll help you to see again. He said, basically vowing to her. At that point, Kyo would get lost in the rhythmic beats of his rapidly increasing heartbeat. Go for it, you fool! Show her your true feelings! The spirit would say in Kyo's head. Of all the advices Tsuchigumo would give, that was one he would listen to. Gently placing a hand and cupping her cheek, Kyo slowly went and neared his face in, before he would then gently place his lips on hers for a kiss. He really hoped, if anything, prayed that she probably felt the same way as him.

Even if Hana couldn't see the sky and how light formed within it, she was still glad to be spending time with Kyo. He had been one of her first friends here that had managed to stay in contact with her. He couldn't visually describe what the sight looked like to her, but a vow was made in its place. She doubted if such a thing could be accomplished, but would smile at his promise. Who knows? Maybe he might even find such a way. "Thank you, Kyo. It means a lot. But just being with you is just fine by me." Her head craned over to look at him as did his judging by how warm her was feeling. The heartbeat of the boy was increasing as Hana's own would begin to pick up the pace to match his. She froze and would chew the inside of her cheek while wondering what would happen. "Er, K-Kyo..."
His hands gently caressed her cheek as Hana's face felt as warm as a microwave. Almost on instinct, Mokihana leaned forward and met his lips as the two shared a kiss. Her soft lips pressed against Kyo's for just a brief moment, those tanned cheeks of her turning a dark red color. After it was over, which felt like forever, Mokihana would rub her arm. "Ah-S-So...Does this mean we're..." she trailed off, looking a bit frazzled. "Not that I don't want to be! It's...just my first kiss is all."

This feeling was something Kyo wished can last forever. The kiss felt like as if the entire planet just disappeared. He honestly never had done this with any other girl before. It was his first kiss too, and honestly, his first time even with a girl even showing interest in him the way she does. The two broke off for a bit, as to which he saw that Hana was blushing a lot. Not really surprising as Kyo was completely deep pink from it all. Well... I really want to be... y'know... Kyo said, being in a slight awkward silence, looking away a bit. Um.. It was my first kiss too. Actually, my first time with anything... I was kind of a nerd where I'm from... Heheh. He definitely was making himself look awkward but in a joking way. After the kiss was over, which truthfully, he wish wasn't Kyo noticed that the ride was actually over, and they were both on ground level. Oh hey... We're on the floor... He said, now seeing that it was night out, Kyo looked at his phone to see the time, in which he wondered if they should get back before someone searches for them. So uh... Did you have fun? He asked her.
