"As a girl I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books.Someone who fought for what was right and protect people who couldn't protect themselves." Lexi Darksilver Halo Lexi didn't panic at first. She whirled around as the ground started to vibrate under her feet, but the gap was far too large to close before the wall of stone separated them. Mathis was more than capable and panicking wouldn't help even if he wasn't. Besides she had faced much worse situations during her battles with The Dominion. The stone wall had her and Black trapped in the motel room, which meant simply making a ramp over the wall wasn't an option. There were a few ways she could attempt to reach Mathis, but the quickest and most effective in her opinion was to blast a hole in the ceiling and make her ramp. She still didn't panic when she first saw the combination of colours unique to Collision coming up behind Mathis. Instead she aimed her hand towards the ceiling and started firing a beam of aura to cut out her escape route. Then Mathis was hit. “Hang on Mathis.” She mumbled to herself as derbies from the ceiling rained down in a cloud of dust and a few sparks from the severed electrical wires. She would never finish though.
It was strange watching it all unfold via aura. She could see the energy shift around Concussion's arm as he charged up for the attack and the same for Mathis, but the battle between kinetic energy and frost was invisible to her. That was until the aura around Mathis's right arm turned black seconds before the wall crumbled and she got the full visual of what had happened. Her eyes went wide and it felt like she had been sucker punched in the gut. Concussion had done more than get his revenge on Mathis. He had hit Lexi's weak spot. Like a cluster bomb going off, her mind turned into a mental soup of conflicting instructions as she stood frozen while Concussion bore down on Mathis. Everything else forgotten she started to run to Mathis. It would have made more sense to simply shield him from where she stood, but Lexi was no longer thinking straight. An inescapable urge to reach Mathis consumed her every thought. So much so it wasn't until she felt a sharp pain in her shoulder that she realized they were taking gunfire and she had neglected to maintain her shield. Instinctively she paused, throwing up a shield to protect herself and it was those few seconds that let Concussion reach Mathis before she did. A scream got caught in her throat as the very air seemed to strangle her.
Finally she managed to reach Mathis and threw herself over top of him as if to physically shield him from the bullets with her body. If Black saw this future than he would know enough to be inside the the motel room, because it wasn't the bullets she was protecting Mathis's unconscious body from. A sob ripped through her. She couldn't see Mathis's aura. She couldn't see anyone's aura at the moment. Her emotions were too out of control, but what cut her off from using some abilities made others much more powerful as a certain Adam Ward had experience and fear had a strangle hold on her. A massive amount of energy was released, throwing everyone and everything back. Concussion would get the worst of it since he was standing the closest, but it would knock the shooters off their feet and hopefully daze them for a few moments. She had no idea what powers the rest had, but Concussion would be able to cut down her shields easily enough, or perhaps not since they would be super charged by raw emotion. ✬Feb 3 2013✬

Mathis Mathews
Black had done what he could to try and shield Lexi with his powers but they were only so direct and so the bullet had winged her. Now Black had retreated back into the building for cover from the gunfire and Lexi's outburst. Mathis didn't stay unconscious for long either. His blackout had been momentary and he was on the mend from it when Lexi threw herself over him. Mathis was breathing heavily and mumbling what sounded like numbers. Well maybe just one really long number. He was trying to distract himself from what was going on and his arm but who really could?
When the outburst came and the energy began to kick up, an armed deviant from the Dominion threw down his gun and put up both his hands. A wall of light formed in front of him to shield himself- and conveniently the geokinetic beside him- from the blast. Everyone else, including the freshly stabbed Concussion, was sent flying backwards and onto the floor opening up for Lexi, Mathis, and Mr. Black to run. Lightbringer- the deviant who had shielded himself and Stone (geokinetic)- was also distracted but his distraction was caused by trying to protect Concussion and the others. He didn't want to see them dead, only the b*****d who had come into their home and caused all the chaos.
Mathis wiggled away from Lexi and onto his feet when the onslaught of energy finally ended. It was difficult and immensely torturous but he did get back onto his feet relatively quickly considering what had happened. He held the monstrosity of his right arm close to his body and then stumbled his way towards the motel room as quickly as he could which without a little aid from Lexi would not be very fast at all. Each step he took sent a small jolt through his body that caused the arm to flare out in agony just a little bit. Once back in the motel room, Mr. Black would direct them towards the bathroom window that he had opened for them. Mathis would need some time to get through the window. Time he did not have. Mr. Black had gone through and now stood on the other side trying to help Mathis through it when Lightbringer and Stone arrived. Stone threw a rather sizeable rock at Mathis which broke the window above him but did not hit him. The glass cut him a few more times now that it was broken but he had bigger issues. The more important thing was that it alerted Lexi, the only eligible defender, that two men had entered the room to attack them. Lexi would have to stop helping Mathis through the window if she wanted to fight them but with Black on the other side that would be okay.
Lightbringer wouldn't wait for her to react, Stone had given them away and Lightbringer was not going to let Stone's mistake screw them both. He fired a bolt of light from his hand that looked similar to lightning only it shined with the yellow heat of the sun instead of the blue that lightning generally was.

"As a girl I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books.Someone who fought for what was right and protect people who couldn't protect themselves." Lexi Darksilver Halo Relief rushed through Lexi as she heard Mathis mumbling to himself. He was alive. She couldn't imagine the agony he must be in and they were still in danger, but he was alive. And stubborn as ever, as he seemed determined to get himself to safety without her aid. Still, she did her best to get them both to the motel room as quickly as possible and at Black's urging, into the bathroom where they met another problem. She and Black could get through the window easily enough, but not Mathis. Not with his arm. Black insisted he go first and Lexi didn't argue. It was foolish to argue with a man who could see the future and they didn't have time to waste anyway. They had Mathis halfway out the window, Lexi using her aura to make him a platform to stand on so he didn't have to lift himself up when the window broke.
Lexi whirled around to find two of Concussion's men standing at the entrance of the bathroom. She had been so focused on Mathis she hasn't been paying attention to her surroundings. Still, she managed to get the shield up in time in order to absorb the shot from Lightbringer. "Go. I'll find you later." She called to Mathis and Black behind her. Mostly Black, since she doubted Mathis was currently capable of thinking too clearly at the moment. Her eyes burned with determination as she faced the two Dominion members. Then without warning, she spread her arms in front of her, starting with both hands in the center near her chest and quickly moving out until her hands were even with her shoulders. Five of her signature energy balls appeared in the space and launched forward at the pair. They wouldn't have much room to dodge in the small bathroom, but Lexi didn't wait. Unless she was mistaken, given their powers neither of these men would be particularly skilled and close combat, so while her opening attack served as a distraction she quickly switched gears by closing the distance between them and aiming an aura charged punch at the Geokinetic. She needed to keep them busy, and their attention on her. Once Mathis was through the window and Lexi didn't need to play defence, the real fight could being. ✬Feb 3 2013✬

Mathis Mathews
Mr. Black would do what he could to keep moving Mathis who was still mumbling to himself. He still had to get them a vehicle. He had a plan, as usual, and helped Mathis keep moving. Mathis seemed like he was completely out of it at the moment and just responded to Black's slight guidance as they made their way to the most ironic and useful vehicle Black's connections could afford them. An ambulance.
Back in the room, Lightbringer waved his right hand and sent two bolts of light that crashed against and shattered the two aura balls closest to him. He moved forward in that opening to attack Lexi but she had gone after Stone who's attempt to block the aura attack- by summoning a stone wall that had promptly been knocked over- had been less successful. Lexi's aura charged fist was coming down at Stone and Lightbringer did nothing to help him. Instead he fired a burning bolt of light at Lexi's lower back. Stone's effort to counter the punch was to summon a spike of earth from the ground to hit Lexi but it had been too slow and her punch would send Stone onto his back in a daze of pain and confusion.

"As a girl I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books.Someone who fought for what was right and protect people who couldn't protect themselves." Lexi Darksilver Halo She had gotten her hit on the Geokinetic, but it had cost her. The light quickly burned through her clothes and scorched her skin before she as able to redirect the aura to form the protective aura armour once more. Lexi was gaining a number of injuries. Bruised ribs, a bullet wound to the shoulder and now the burn on her back, yet she didn't slow down. It was with sheer willpower that she pushed passed all three to continue the assault. Stone was dazed, but not out. She should finish him off, yet Lightbringer had become the most immediate threat. Hopefully all that time with Adam Ward, and the people she trained with after he left was about to pay off. Continuing with her close combat strategy, she moved to close the distance between her and Lightbringer, though unlike with Stone Lexi opted to keep her aura armour instead of going for the supercharged attack. Her fist was raised and ready to hit, yet at the last second, she would go for a roundhouse kick instead. ✬Feb 3 2013✬

Lightbringer
Lexi was smart to keep her armor and even smarter to change her attack at the last minute. Her roundhouse caught Lightbringer's jaw and sent him stumbling backward for a moment but not long enough to follow up before he returned with his own offensive. He had some admiration of her skills but Lightbringer couldn't waste his time thinking about that. He noticed Stone was paying attention again and so he leapt into the air to try and superman punch Lexi- with a hand coated in burning light- just as Stone caused the ground by her feet to reach up and attempt to pin her in place.

"As a girl I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books.Someone who fought for what was right and protect people who couldn't protect themselves." Lexi Darksilver Halo Her first instinct was to dodge out of the way. When her feet wouldn't move, her second was to quickly fire an aura ball at Lightbringer. Perhaps she should have gone with one of her dome shields, but with two on one, the likely outcome would be for her to become trapped. By now her energy levels were getting dangerously and she couldn't afford that sort of standoff, so she went for an offence. ✬Feb 3 2013✬

Lightbringer
The ball hit Lightbringer in the stomach and the force from it sent him backwards into the wall which shook the room. Yet he was not Lexi's only opposition and her feet were still trapped. Lightbringer stayed by the wall where he was recovering from the attack but Stone was not smart enough to try and think through his next move. He ran up behind the still pinned Lexi with two rock covered fists and attempted to punch her in the back of the neck. He didn't learn the lesson Lightbringer just had but Lightbringer was busy tending to his wounded abdomen so he did not see Stone's attack and did not aid it.

"As a girl I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books.Someone who fought for what was right and protect people who couldn't protect themselves." Lexi Darksilver Halo She had saved herself from a punch to the face, but there was no time to relax. It was still two on one, and Lexi's feet were still encased in stone. She needed to free herself. Her first move was to finish off the Geokinetic, which was lucky since she turned her upper body to face him she caught sight of him running towards her with rock covered fists. She had little choice but to make the same move as she did with Lightbringer, firing a quick ball of energy at him in an attempt to knock him back. However, unlike with Lightbringer she quickly followed it up with a more powerful, longer charged aura blast to hopefully render him unconscious before Lightbringer could recover and mount another attack on her.✬Feb 3 2013✬

Lightbringer
Lightbringer could see the tide turning and recognize when a mission was already lost. Mathis was gone and Stone was not doing to hot against Lexi. Lightbringer held his hand to his ribs and felt a few cracked from Lexi's aura ball so he knew the pain Stone was probably gonna be in when he aura assault on him ended. They couldn't win this. Not in this close quarters. Seeing what he needed to do, Lightbringer held his hand up and emit a blinding glow that filled the room. The light would burn so brightly that is Lexi did not avert her eyes she would be blinded temporarily. When the light faded Stone and Lightbringer would be gone leaving Lexi alone in the motel room.

"As a girl I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books.Someone who fought for what was right and protect people who couldn't protect themselves." Lexi Darksilver Halo A blinding light suddenly filled the room. She hadn't expected it, and though Lexi quickly looked away, it left her unable to see. What she expected was for the pair to take advantage and get some hits in. Those hits never came, and when she regained her vision the room was empty. She knew she should be upset. She had an opportunity to take out two Dominion members and lost it. Instead, she was relieved. The war had changed a lot of things about Lexi. There was one thing it hadn't.
She was exhausted, both emotionally and physically. She had expended a lot of energy in the last few minutes. Her shirt was soaked through with blood on her left shoulder where the bullet had hit her. Her side ached and her lower back was in agony from the burn Lightbringer had given her. Her time with Mathis had been extremely distressing. She didn't know how to deal with the man the Dominion had turned him into. And she hadn't had time to process what Black had done to him before Concussion attacked. Yet she knew it was all nothing compared to what Mathis had gone through. Unfortunately, there wasn't time for either of them to rest. Gingerly, Lexi crawled out of the window Black and Frost had gone out before her. It didn't take her long to find the two men in the ambulance parked behind the motel. Even if she didn't have her aura reading powers, it was a fairly conspicuous vehicle. And it was exactly what they needed right now. Soon Lexi was pulling open the back door and stepping inside.✬Feb 3 2013✬

Mr. Black
When Lexi found them again Mathis would be unconscious in the back seat and Mr. Black would be standing outside the vehicle preparing a pistol. Lexi could probably guess what he was going to say when she arrived. He was leaving them. "I'm sorry I have to leave you two. You won't get out of Dominion territory without someone else drawing significant attention." Black said as he checked the ammunition in his pistol. He knew what he needed to do to cause a distraction and he knew when he needed to the problem, as always, was actually doing what he needed to. "I've given Mathis several sedatives so you will have about an hour before he wakes up and when he does the pain should be a little more manageable. If not, make him take these." Mr. Black reached over and grabbed a pill bottle from the ambulance before handing it to Lexi. "Stay on the road and keep your head down. Get back to Providence when you are out of here." Mr. Black turned and began to walk away but he seemed to catch himself. He turned around again and took a few steps back to Lexi. "Are you alright?" He had noticed her injuries but he didn't think too much of them because he had spent the last few minutes trying to hold down a man who's arm had been mostly blown off. "There is some more equipment in the car if you want me to try to bandage your arm and Mathis' pain medication should help you as well."

"As a girl I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books.Someone who fought for what was right and protect people who couldn't protect themselves." Lexi Darksilver Halo Of all the Providence agents who needed saving Lexi couldn't help but wonder why Black had chosen them. It couldn't have been easy to follow them, not to mention bringing the telepath, and risking his own life several times in the process. Though she supposed he already knew he wouldn't die. It was a question for when they were all safe, and back in Providence. For now, she merely nodded as he finished up his instructions. "Thank you." Came her only response as he started to walk away.
'Are you alright?' Lexi almost laughed at the question. She was not even close to being alright. She didn't remember the last time she had really considered herself alright. Perhaps before the war. However, as always it didn't really matter if she was alright or not. She was going to have to be alright because she didn't have much of a choice, other than to push forward. The only other option was to die here, in the heart of Dominion territory. She glanced down at her wounded shoulder. "I suppose it would be unfortunate if I bleed out before we got there." She relented. She could attempt to do it herself, but it would be a lot faster if Black helped her. ✬Feb 3 2013✬

Mr. Black
Black simply nodded in agreement to the notion that it would be bad for her to pass out from blood loss and he went back into the ambulance to get the bandages he would need. Then he came back out and went to work. Mr. Black was no doctor but he did his best. Nothing could be done about the pain without the medication and he wasn't going to force her to take the medication before driving. If she wanted to he would not stop her but he wouldn't make her take it. Once he'd done what he could to bandage her arm Mr. Black checked the time on his phone and then began backing away. "I have to go. I'm short on time if I want to make it out of the city." His distraction was a very specific event and if it was not done at the right moment he would end up stuck in Dominion territory until another opportunity presented itself. Then again maybe he would be fine in that situation. "Good luck, Lexi." and with that Mr Black made his exit.

"As a girl I wanted to be just like those heroes in the books.Someone who fought for what was right and protect people who couldn't protect themselves." Lexi Darksilver Halo Black working on her arm was agony. Every movement while he worked to stop the flow of blood from the bullet wound sent another flare of pain radiating outward. It made that bottle of pills extremely tempting, but she wanted to keep her head clear for the drive ahead. Then again maybe the pain was more distracting than the pills. Black did what he could, the bullet would have to be taken out by Providence, then quickly started to leave again. It was her natural inclination that they should stick together. This felt too much like they were leaving Black behind. If it wasn't for his particular power she would have insisted he go with them. Instead, all she replied with was "Take care." which felt sort of hollow in light of all he had done for her and Mathis. She knew he was about to do something dangerous so be careful or stay safe didn't seem right. "I'll see you back at Providence." She had to believe all three of them would make it back. The other option wasn't acceptable.
With one final glance at the retreating back of Mr. Black, Lexi picked up the pill bottle he had left her and climbed into the ambulance. It was hard to look at Mathis. Seeing him that way. She hurt for him. She would have done anything to take the pain away, but at the moment there was only one option. Drive. The sooner she got him back to Providence the sooner he could get the medical attention he needed. So Lexi moved passed Mathis's unconscious body and slid into the driver's seat and did just that. ✬Feb 3 2013✬
