Phantom Anon "Oh, I do not mind the ramblings of another." the Phantom comforted, "I enjoy listening to one's tale. Why did you choose to become a knight?" As she spoke, her eyes flicked to the rest of the ballroom. More and more people had come further into the room. Monster appeared eager to get to the refreshment table, which was far from surprising. Astraeus had wandered to the side and was talking to a quiet woman she had noticed some time ago. Kate's companion was staring down at a pocket square and appeared mildly puzzled. The ivory hair woman seemed familiar, but the Phantom still could not discern why. Cid openly smiled at the question, obviously proud of her own station and the choice she made, "My childhood friend and I both joined a few years apart from each other actually, we had always admired the Knights that protected our home and swore when we were kids to one day be like them. My family wasn't too keen on it, due to my eyes, but they let me and helped train me up some despite that because it...was a way for me to prove something to myself." When she spoke about her family and friend back home, a definite warmth was in her voice, as well as a tinge of longing, like she hasn't been back to visit them in quite some time. She inclined her head to where the spirit floated, "Well...you've asked some about me, but what about yourself? How is one such as you...really here? Forgive the jest, but you don't haunt here, do you?"

Her head tilted to the side as a thought crossed her mind, "I think I would like to see you in a fight. I admit I am curious to see how well you would do."
When the conversation turned to herself, her words became laced with mild surprise. "I go or haunt where I please. I am not bound to one area."

There was an almost eager look to her grin at hearing the want to see a fight, though she quickly hid it, her hand tugging at the cloth on her wrist, saying softly "Well...I hope that doesn't happen tonight. Part of why I am here is to make sure it doesn't, as fun as it would be." The knight listened to the spirit's words, cocking her head to the side curiously, "I...was not aware spirits could move freely. The ones I know of..." she stopped, as if an attempt to correct herself, "That I have heard of, around...places...gah, sorry, I lose focus sometimes. Just, never came across tales of a free moving spirit!"

Her words were a near echo to your own. The Phantom lifted a brow at your sudden blunder of words. "Bound ghosts are the most common. It does not surprise me that those are the only ones you have heard of." A frown formed on her face, "What was the phrase....Ah, yes. Most ghosts the Living know of are only the tip of the iceberg. In truth, there are a variety of different types."

"By that...would you say...that it is possible for one to be bound to a person? And have you heard of instances in these parts of that happening? Maybe...a wrathful kind? Reports of destruction, folk acting oddly...those types of things?" Cid asked, appearing curious but it would seem more as a dig for specific information, perhaps pertaining to her reason for coming so far from home.

Depending on how we were killed or how we lived, we could be bound to anything. I have met many ghosts that haunt people rather than places." The Phantom's gaze narrowed at your continued questions, "There could be a malicious spirit in this area or there could be dozens. I would have to check. You seem to be searching for a specific spirit; tell me more of your tale, Cidri."

Cid fell silent, apparently not wanting to trouble Phantom with more of her reasons for arriving here. She craned her head around, laughing softly and shaking her head, "So many voices...and no faces to put them to. I assume you are familiar with some of the guests? Being a stranger this is all quite unfamiliar to me and I wouldn't wish to impose upon them...mind telling me about some of those here?"

She disliked mysteries immensely. At your attempt to change the subject, the ghost's frowned deepened. Contrary wise, her voice, when she spoke, did not betray any displeasure. "We have a rather diverse group of interesting individuals around us. Knowing more about them would indeed help you tonight. However I will not do so for free. I propose a game of sorts. For each person I describe, you must answer one of my questions. Does that sound acceptable?"

She pointed to where she heard a group talking among themselves, "One of them first...the rather energetic sounding one. He seems...small in stature, but his voice speaks for twice his height in its confidence."

The tension in the air, so slight it had barely been perceptible, disappeared as well. She followed your hand motion and spotted whom you were referring to.
"That would be Mister Monster. He is a creature of blue fur and tremendous speed. How fast he can go, I cannot say. He is always jovial and he loves his food. You and he share that in common." Yes, the Phantom had noticed the empty food platters near your side. "Although he is kind, be wary when the full moon rises. The friendly monster we know is replaced by a fearsome beast for that night."
Clasping her hands behind her back, she faced you once more. "I believe that is enough details to satisfy my end of the bargain. Now for my question: how did you lose your eye sight?"

As she was looking around, for a moment, she caught sight of the ghostly woman's gaze. Was she being watched? Though, it seems like the other young woman near her started a conversation, so that thought quickly vanished. Unlike her, Clara knew just who the Phantom was. Being body roomed with her blue haired companion, Gaian faces were not hard to remember. She sighed. "I'll go leave this by one of the tables." She made her way over to the refreshment table.

Cid's expression betrayed her curiosity, as well as a little apprehension at hearing that this 'Mister Monster' was a creature, but she relaxed, after understanding that he meant no harm...at least in this form. "I lost them when I was a child. The friend I mentioned earlier and I were playing along some of the ledges in our canyon, part of it broke underneath me and I fell into, the greatest ironies, my favorite flowers. They have large thorns containing stinging toxins to prevent them from being eaten...my eyes were unable to be saved and it's where most of the scars I have came from." She thought for a moment, and then pointed again, this time to two dancers close together, "The one over there. Smooth talker, seems to have a bite to his words, a sarcastic edge. Mentioned something about dragons?"

Given the heavy extent of scars on your face, and the assured amount on your body, she was surprised you had survived. Either there had been a skilled healer nearby, or you had been greatly lucky.
The Phantom chuckled when she saw your next target. "That would be Nefiriam. He is wearing all black and his shirt exposes much of his chest. His hair is partially black, but the rest is an interesting shade of amethyst. He is an utter tease and flirt." She watched him as he led Gigi in a dance, "Nefiriam is passionate and very driven. Although he appears human now, in reality he is a dragon."
Her gaze returned to you, "You are a knight, yet you are not protecting your homeland. Why did you leave?" Radiant Anon Solsi The mysterious woman still lined the wall, watching with intention the guests as they mingled. She hadn't moved from the spot, not to dance nor to eat, which may have been comforting to suspicious eyes, or it may have just contributed to the suspense. Her posture read like a thoughtful statue, taking it all in. But then, the prince approached. "Good evening. You do not appear to have one of these yet, my dear. According to our lovely hostesses, they are something of a dress code." Up close her height became apparent. Her chin turned in his direction and she blinked. "Is that so?" she asked, words cascading in a velvety accent. She took the little square of fabric and fashioned a limp bow to the corset of her gown. It blended rather well with the design, almost as although it had been there the whole time. "Normally I don't find myself accepting favors such as this. It's a little policy of mine. Though I suppose I can make an exception." Her lips formed something of a smile as the music swelled. "Whoever they are, these hostesses of yours, I hope you relay my praises. I am seeing and hearing things I haven't had the privilege to in a long time." OOC: There aren't a lot of upbeat waltz songs on youtube, it turns out. ^^' "I shall be sure to do so," the prince replied. Now that he heard her speak, he was certain that he had met this woman before. Yet he could not place the accent. Did he meet her on Gaia...? No, this feeling seemed more recent. He listened to her following remark thoughtfully. The suggestion hinted at something that he had grown rather accustomed to lately. What it meant though could mean any number of things. "That is quite a shame. I hope this night makes up for it," he remarked. " Though, a ball such as this is never complete unless a beautiful maiden is asked to dance." He smiled and bowed before extending his hand. "May I have that honor?"
