I feel that would be best, Miss Ryder. Is something wrong? the doctor said, sounding concerned. Mairi exhaled slowly and softly, her hands slowly relaxing. It's... nothing, she said softly and slowly, though it was very obvious that it wasn't 'nothing'.

He seems very cautious about having his blood drawn, for some reason the doctor said, sounding thoughtful. Mairi winced as she looked at her hands, blood on her palms from four minor puncture wounds. He's not coming back, she said softly and slowly.

Not really, though it is possible other things could arise. If so, I will mention them, the doctor said, sounding amused. You seem to make a very good parent, it seems. was his last observation before hanging up. Mairi exhaled softly as she ran water over her hands, trying to not alert Pyrrha to the mirror injuries. Lucas isn't alone she mumbled, as Lucas had said that he'd been having nightmares. Hers... were far more private.

Mairi shifted uncomfortably, but moved enough for Pyrrha to help her. Would you... be angry with me... if something happened... that I... couldn't stop? she mumbled without meeting her concerned gaze, unsure if she should mention what her father had done.

Mairi blinked, curious despite herself as she saw the small bandages that were thinner nearer the center than the edges, not recognizing them as butterfly bandages. Yes... if only to forget for a while. I know my mother tried to stop him from it, once, she said softly, wincing slightly at the sting of the cleaning pad.

What I was referring to... when that happened that I couldn't stop... it was... my father. He.... did things, she said softly as she slipped into the car.

Mairi looked out the window, lost in thought. She had never told anyone about her father's abuse of her, not Lucas, nor her mother. She had never even implied something was wrong... very wrong. What her father had done had lasted from when she was eight until thirteen. Okay, though I don't know anywhere in the area, she said softly, her tone shy.
