The surgeon was starting to get annoyed with all the guns popping up, and especially after yet another person with guns strolled up behind them. Normally by now, Sciurus might have already tried to send this mercenary figure either on his merry way or into the grave; but luckily Solsi took charge in the peacekeeping end of things and seemed to do well.

But their new "leader/guide" seemed completely serious about solving the newcomer's lead deficiency; And the trouble was, Mr Ru didn't seem to be backing down either. Add to that, the sudden appearance of an unknown, equally loaded quantity that could set off the tension levels, and you had the reason Sciurus hated guns. Too many hypersensitive trigger-fingers, strung out nerves, and instinctive reactions, and not enough of a chance to do anything about it.

He eased closer to Kate slightly, subtly tying to put her behind him and nudge her out of the line of fire. Sciurus didn't know what the mage could do to defend herself, but the surgeon didn't want to find out as he raised his cleaver threateningly. Stupid me for leaving the other one at home He pointed it first at the "Princess", then at the mercenary, lending his voice a tone of murderous authority. "No. No one is shooting anyone right now unless you all want to be organ donors. It would certainly make due for my absence from the hospital. I think you'll all agree, the mechanic's time is running short, no? I do not think maiming each other recklessly will benefit his interests."

He really would have preferred to tell them to either kill each other later, or take it somewhere else, but naturally the surgeon didn't want to be shot either.

Kate just stared at the newcomer and raised a brow. At least Falinn caught on to what she was thinking. "But you just said you could have-" She shook her head and sighed. Sciurus had nudged her out of firing range in case tempers flared. That was weird. Him trying to protect her? She did agree with him, though. "Sciurus is right. Who knows how much time Arron has. We need to focus on our current mission."

Ru Let out a sigh of relief at the stranger not leveling a piece at him anymore. The mage-girl in front of him had guts, not many people he knew would willingly stand in between two potential duelists. He felt a new degree of respect for her and her friends. He had sat in and shot his way out of many a situation like this: hotheads, private security types, even other mercs ventilating each other over a bad attitude or a wrongly founded suspicion. This group wasn't quick to turn to violence, all the better for a smooth operation. He took his hand off his iron and looked at Solsi quizzically. "What compass?" The gunslinger was now confused. Better than dead he supposed.

After climbing out of the hatch and waiting for her companion to make it up herself, the girl looked around what appeared to be a maze-work of alleys. She saw where the spots of blood ended, and the beginning of what looked like the tread of a vehicle.

"Miss...Miss?" the girl tugged on Sweet's sleeve and pointed urgently to the tracks. Whomever they were searching for sure did leave in a hurry! Maybe the people who went before them followed the tire trail?

"Miss? Maybe we should...?" she started to ask, stepping over to where the trail started. "...do these seem right?" She questioned both to Sweet and herself, crouching down to inspect the tracks closer.
