The first yaoi I can remember was a Digimon fanfic... and it is the best I've read, I'm sure. Plenty of plot, plenty of "action". No stereotypical seme/uke. Girls and other guys getting in the way. Homophobes. Yet not too depressing. Very good. Wish I still knew the name... or where I found it... cry

Actually the first time for one were fanfics online... I don't think I even knew it was considered yaoi.... I guess Gravitation (anime and manga) was trully the first time I've been officially introduced to yaoi.

my first yaoi is actually a fanfic for....DNAngel? i can't remember..then i went up to manga, and then finally anime...and i love all the yaoi/BL that i've seem so far...
