I definitely agree with this. It's crazy ridiculous.
I'm used to selling art for 75-100k, now its up to 1-5mil+, just from offers.
It's really not worth much, even though it seems like a lot. ):

I agree. I refuse to spend real money on Gaia or any other website. I don't have enough money to blow any of it on online stuff. Gold Generators hurt everyone. I have been doing my best in the marketplace to keep my things priced below the price of the item in the stores or the average price it sells for, whichever is lower. I would love to be able to afford some of the chance items or the animated stuff that is in the marketplace, but it is far too expensive.
Gaia, Please quit selling the gold generators, they just hurt the community!
I support this movement, gold generators are a pain in general. It's completely unfair to everyone. I do admit I used to buy Cash Items, not the gold generators. Realizing the beginning of this year, it would be a waste to spend real money on a site whom isn't making an attempt to control the gold income. This is site lost purpose to using this to make friendships not money hungry individuals.
Gaia, you need to listen to the people, not your hungry wallets.
P.S Your banners are not showing up for some reason. Might to check that out. sweatdrop

maui boy no ka oi
The fact that free activities such as playing gaia games and making forum posts don't give any more gold than they did a year ago just further increases the economic disparity between the premium and the non-premium user. Unfortunately, it seems that no amount of gold sink is going to help stabilize the economy and that the only way to combat the massive inflation of prices is to increase the gold payout for free users which would in turn inflate prices even further. But that seems to be the only solution to fixing the immense class gap between the rich and the poor today.
I couldn't say it better myself.
I'd like to sign to petition too please, this is getting disheartening and really hard to keep up with. If I were a newbie, I'd quit immediately because of this. If this is going to be a continuing trend, might as well even it out so it can plateau and benefit everyone, especially new users and those who don't/can't afford cash.
All updated! We're at 45+ signatures. Can we get 50? smile
@ Sarcasdick: Send me a PM with a link to that guild so that I can check it out. Thank you!
@ Kedia26: That's so weird. Are you on Firefox? What you're describing is an issue I used to have when I utilized Firefox. Here are the links to the images without being shortened:
I've done that, but when it always says "Image Failed to Load" for me. sad
Sarcasdick
If our love is tragedy why are you my remedy?
There's a guild I just saw a link for, they ask members to dump their gold into the guild funds so that its not out and around in the mp, like a gold sink. I bring it up, not because advertising, but because of a potential to affiliate, and I know a lot of the members in the guild are looking for a decent gold sink, and a way to help regulate MP. It's always nice to have more people who stand for the same thing you do, right?
I don't wanna post names or links, because advertising is against the rules, but if one of the crew would like it, to poke around and investigate, or potentially affiliate, I can PM the link to you.
It's sad to watch this website screw over its wonderful community and go to hell in a hand basket all because they found a "genius" way to squeeze cash out of people. I feel proud to say that my small (and I do mean small by today's standards :S) fortune came from hanging onto stuff from 2009, very generous individuals, and getting lucky with the Dumpster Dive. I'm not spending a single penny of my real money on virtual cash just to buy virtual stuff, the gap between the "classes" is sickening and I truly feel sorry for newcomers to the site.

I've never had much in the way of gold income, being unable to dedicate much time to the site, but the market place makes me cringe every time I see it these days. I remember when 20k could get you some cool stuff. Now it barely gets stuff from the basic shops. I fully support this product boycot. I don't have a bunch of cash to spend on their virtual currency anyway. xp
I'm surprised I haven't come across this thread yet. I've never spent money on this site, and looking at the current state of the economy, I pledge that I never will. Since Gaia doesn't care enough to listen, even when proof is literally right in front of their eyes, it should well be time we take it into our own hands.

I fully support getting rid of gold generators. I am sick and tired of all of the inflation on this site just because Gaia became money hungry. You used to be able to quest and have fun and actually reach your goal, but now you can't get anywhere without spending real money. All of the announcements I ever see are spend money here! Spend money there! I refuse to pay Gaia a penny. Right now I have more gold than I have ever had, but I can't get any of the items I have been questing for because of the inflation. What happened to good old free gaming and equality between players?
