Shayne Indra I don't have enough education on Calvinism or anything else that was written there to comment on that, so please don't take a lack of comment badly. >.< No worries- the main thing that makes Calvinists different from lots of other Protestants is that they believe in Predestination- basically that God is Laplace's Demon- that people who are saved are always saved and people who are damned are always damned- because an all knowing God knows which people are truly Loving and which ones aren't- and any Good or Bad we see is just what we see of this truth (hence the Matt 7:17 quote). And naw- I figure people are interested in what they're interested in. Most people in meat-space treat my theological ramblings as quaint eccentricity. Quote: But for the hitchhikers, that was really awesome of you. smile In my area, people just drive by, few people will stop. I'm picky about who I pick up- but Strider and Roger were sweethearts.

Isn't the point that God gave us free will to choose what path we wanted to take and the consequences ("heaven"/"hell") were based on that? confused My ex husband (and current roommate) is the son of a Baptist minister and fancies himself educated on different denominations. I mostly ignore him when he starts going on just because I mostly ignore everything he says when he starts going on... >.> There need to be more sweethearts in the world, damnit. There just aren't enough of us. biggrin And yes, I include you in the 'us' cause you're one for picking them up. blaugh

Shayne Indra Isn't the point that God gave us free will to choose what path we wanted to take and the consequences ("heaven"/"hell") were based on that? confused There's free will- which we have, but there's also knowing what will happen. Annette heart loves heart ham sandwiches- if there's ham in the house, Annette will make a ham sandwich for lunch. So- I buy ham and keep it in the fridge. I don't make Annette's sandwich, and I don't force Annette to eat the ham- but I know Annette had ham yesterday for lunch, today for lunch and will likely have a cheesesy bread for lunch tomorrow because we're out of ham. It's still free will- but it's also predictable. But that's just me and I'm only a human- so God can know instead of predict. That's what Laplace's Demon as a thought experiment is about- if every atom in the world could be measured and accounted for- then a formula could be created to predict everything past and in the future. I like those kinds of thought experiments- I ended up reading about Laplace's Demon because I wanted to know if Schrödinger actually had a real cat. I'm sorry, I don't know how to do the funky o. >.< That's what I always figured. God knows, it just doesn't do anything with that knowledge, cause we're the ones that decide what to do or not do. He just deals with the fallout and the end of our lives. Quote: sweatdrop Most of my friends do that too. Which? Ignore their ex's? LOL Quote: There need to be more sweethearts in the world, damnit. Saew *hugs* troubles with the soon to be former roommate? Yep. Here's the thing- this is a known trigger. We had a 5 minute conversation about how it's a trigger and that there are other ways to communicate something you dislike without triggering me. His "recollection" is basically "We agreed you needed to work on that bad behavior." So either the mediation we went through amounted to a kind of lie- that he wasn't interested in fixing anything and that all his promises were basically the "acceptable answers" he used to get what he wanted- or that the entire time anything I said was basically a "Blah blah blah blah" and him just waiting to talk. Since I actually upheld 100% of what I promised him and he's upheld about 2% and triggered me with venom in his voice- I'm so done. I feel bad because it brings tension and stress into the house- but I don't throw good after bad.

It's going to be a busy day. I have to find my FAFSA letter and a letter from an attorney and I need to sign up for classes at college.
All this- and my computer is dead and I'm using Blackroses. sweatdrop
