Thank you! Yeah, I know it was lacking detail, but I came upon the contest late and I didn't want to spend too much time away from my current commission. I wish I would have visited here sooner so I could have put more time into it, though I still like how it came out. I appreciate the feedback!

This was fun. I hope to enter more contests in the future. This month's has a great theme. If I can come up with something good and find the time I'll enter.

Ah yeah i know what u mean. I don't usually think beforehand what colors i'm going to use, or if i have an idea "i wanna add this color in bg" i won't think does it match well as a whole with character. Since the character was my oc i wanted to stick with the design and not chance any colors, while i had wanted to try doing bg like that for a while already. :3
I see ur point, but personally i like a lot works where same color and shades are used in different places. (especially in character, but i more easily use contrast in bg like in this work hehe ) This style won't make work (or chara) stand out as u said, and i should try to learn using braver choice of colors and plan ahead what colors i'm going to use. : )
