Rain Yupa The problem is, you almost need the right kind of party for a Warlord. Clerics are always useful. Warlords are better in parties that are heavily melee. Guess I was about right. Also, now I sorta want to see an all-warlord party.

I'll agree to that.
Though It makes me sad that they didn't find a way to make a martial controller for us.

Guys, be nice...
If you really feel that it's necessary, go ahead and make a different character. There are lots to choose from.
And isn't Monk a martial controller? Granted only the playtest is out there at the moment, but one of the folks in my IRL game is playing a Monk, and it seems to operate like a controller. Not a good idea to surround a Monk with minions. Those guys will be gone by the end of the turn if the Monk rolls well enough...

Monk's a psionic striker. Hit hard and keep moving. Fighter can be built into a suitable martial controller, for non-ranged values of controller.

Rangers and fighters can both be quasi controller, but I'm pretty certain it's just impossible to make a full on martial controller. I mean how could a martial role do an area burst 1 range 10 without some kind of item or magic? confused

I can't.
But I'll bet I could teach the rogues to sneak attack with ballistas.
I'd just toss grapeshot and build superior-cover-on-wheels.

joe-dude667 I mean how could a martial role do an area burst 1 range 10 without some kind of item or magic? confused Some type of attack with a reach weapon. Reach out, sweep everyone's feet out from under them in this area next to you, they are controlled by being prone. Plus it makes logical sense, that is possible to do.
