Looking back behind him, Kreil could see faint light from the tunnel they walked down - indicating that the entrance was still clear.

Vince looked back, and could just make out the pinprick of light from the outside. "No, it looks like the way out is still clear. However, I've got a bad feeling about just WHAT was rumbling a few seconds ago..."

The human was glad that Kreil had activated a sun rod. Not only did he have a hard time seeing in the last chamber, but this pathway was even darker. He hadn't wanted to pull out his lantern, about half-afraid there would be a pocket of natural gas that was highly flammable.

He strained his ears and his eyes to see beyond the sphere of light shed by the sun rod. Vince was trying to see if it was just a few loose pebbles that had fallen loose, or something more... sinister.

Rorrick kept his sunrod up illuminateing the back of the group he scanned the area with his eyes trying to avoid being caught by surprise by whatever caused the rumbling they heard.

Hearing the noise, Vince thought that it could have been because of a whole list of natural, non-sinister things.

Though both Rorrick and Vince weren't entirely sure the sound came from the entrance.

Looking back, you both saw some strange thing float from out between a few stalactites in the main room. It floated down towards one of the ants, locking onto one of the ants before seeming to get bored, and floating up to hide back on the ceiling.

Rorrick got his allies attention and whispered to them "be alert it seems we have more in this cave to worry about then some overgrown ants." He then discribed what he just saw to the people who didn't see it.

Kreil heard the description of the weird creature, and he shrugged, not entirely worried about it. If it attacked them, they'd kill it. If not, then they needn't worry. They had to find the missing person, and he doubted that thing had taken him. There was one way to find out if it had a habit of taking people, though...

He limped back into that room and looked up at the ceiling, trying to spot the monster and see what it did if he stood below it.

((Perception Check to spot the monster = 20))

((Readied action: Fey Step to GTFO if the monster comes down to attack/grab/cause bodily injury.))

"What in blazes?" Sovelian edges back into the room, following Kreil. After listening to the description, he tried to look for the beast himself or consider what sort of creature it could be.

((Perception = 5 to look for the thing.
Dungeoneering = 22 to try to figure out wtf it is))

As the adventurer's went back into the main room, the strange thing had appeared to disappear... But Kreil noticed it making it's way up the other passageway.

It looked like it was alone and uninterested in you. There didn't look to be any more of them on the ceiling either.

"It went up the passage," Kreil said, indicating its path. "It seems to have no interest in us. Let us not worry about it for the time being."

He started down the path the ants had come from, taking the lead as he scanned ahead of him for signs of danger.

((Perception Check of 25.))

Glad to finally be moving on again after that worm scare, Vince followed along with Kreil. Although, he kept a few spaces between himself and the Avenger.

If those worm... things, came back, and decided that the group of adventurers looked like tasty snacks, he would rather that the worms got him first. Rather they take him instead of taking someone else and leaving him to worry about what he could have done differently the rest of his days.

As Kreil walked down the passage, the others would notice 3 more of those thing's descended from the ceiling, well hidden in-between the stalactites.

Instead of following the first, they just floated there... Seemingly watching you...

They didn't seem like they were about to attack you any time soon.

Kreil continued down the passage, still keeping an eye out for danger up ahead. His sword remained in his left hand as he limped along, not exactly caring that most of the others were falling a bit behind him.

Oddly enough, as the others fell back, Sovelian kept pace with Kreil. He remained silent however, hoping to pass by these creatures without incident.

As two of the party began to head down the left tunnel, the strange worm things followed behind like an odd collection of balloons tied to the Party's back.

[[Since only two people have posted I'm going to assume the general consensus is to follow Kreil.]]

The tunnel seemed to twist and turn ahead of them. Not only left and right, but up and down, roomy and cramped, smooth and rough. There were a few turns off the main route, but far too small for any of you to head down. After about half an hour of this long trek, where you had long since been able to see any light from the entrance, the corridor opened up into a cavern again, though this one much bigger than before. From the light from Kardenn's hammer and Rorrick's sunrod, you can just about see 6 different tunnels other than the one you came from.

The strange things followed you the entire way. People at the back of the single file line would notice that these strange things seemed to make no noise what so ever. They seemed to stare at you with their eyeless features, anxiously waiting for you to pick a way.

Rorrick looked at the six tunnels and thought 'great finding this brother is gonna be like finding a needle in a hay stack.' Rorrick studied the six tunnels and said "well...should we spin one of the dwarfs empty wine bottles and whichever tunnel it points to we go down."
