Talesian sighs and taking up his blanket he tosses it over her shoulders, leading her to his chair. "Sit..." he says in a no nonsense voice. Bell... we need to talk. That outfit of yours is not going to pass in this town. If the mayor gets one whiff of it... ye'll be rounded up in no time..."

Tam shakes his head. "Twisting light may work on occasion... but running around invisible has some serious downsides. You'll be safer in the long run if you learn to protect yourself, rather than relying on something else to do it for you."

Tam smiles. "Good... rely on that necklace and that armor only if you absolutely need to. Otherwise, you will learn nothing... about our world, our way of living... or anything about what really makes things tick. People would bee too in awe of you to relate normally. Now, you need to get some more sleep. In the morning I will take you to some of the rag pickers down in the market." He laughs at her expression. "It's only a name, Bell. A rag-picker's shop is a second hand store for clothing. And some of it is rather nice. When you need to come up with a whole wardrobe, you certainly do not want to be buying all new stuff."

Tam sighs and goes to examine the remains of his door. Shaking his head he places an open palm on one of the larger pieces and begins to hum softly beneath his breath. Ever so gradually the pieces begin to knit themselves back together again, making it whole. Bt it doesn't put it back up on it's hinges. "Hope, give me a hand here... will ye? I need to get this thing remounted." His head is pounding from the effort of restoring the wood to it's former shape. Healing something that is no longer alive is far harder than encouraging something which was...

Tam slides the bolts into place then tries it a few times, before locking it and collapsing before the fire. "Damn, I'm bushed. Yer on guard, Hope. That took more out of me than I thought it would."

Tam is not so fortunate. His head is still pounding and he is more than a touch grumpy. He brews the strongest pot of medicinal tea he can and sits there sippinbg it, listening to Bell and Hopian joke around.

Tam would do a head smack, except his head hurts too much to do so. He takes the pouch, pulls out one of the smallest gems then tucks the rest into a hiding place by the fireplace. "Bell, whatever ye do, don't ever open that up again outside this room. Ye'll get mugged fer sure. I think I can get this exchanged fer ye without drawing too much attention. Bards are known fer getting odd but expensive gifts from time to time and although this here ruby is a bit large fer it, I've had some larger pressed on me by way of bribes and such in the past.
