*A bag of gold ore comes flying out of the hole, followed by a sandy cub. He pulls himself up, shakes the sand out of his fur, and proceeds to empty the bag on top of the silver ore*
Anyone have a drink? Mining over a hundred feet down is thirsty work.
*Spies Austin's canteen and swipes it, drinking deeply. He then puts it in the pack*
I'll refill this under there...there's an underground river about 130-140 feet down. That's what started these opals developing. What was all that vibration up here, BTW? Sounded like shouting and fighting.
And Yuki, I heard you request platinum, but that's a metal you won't find very often...plus that, it tends to be a mountain or deep-stone metal, not a sand metal. As it is, if that river weren't here, these veins would never have existed.
*Disappears down into his tunnel again, this time angling for the opals*

I was always led to believe that titanium's value came from the amount of energy required to extract it from its ore, which is rather abundant. if you discovered a way to recover platinum from its ore in a very efficient way, you would become very rich, very quickly, and titanium would replace much of the steel used in a variety of applications. So the ball's in your court Yuki, get to the lab and figure such a way out. I'm sure austin would love a titanium-reinforced ship.
Btw, is he reinforcing these tunnels as he goes? This is sand he's mining into, not granite. If he's not careful he's going to find himself stuck down there.

austin124 [(a look of shock shrouds austins face) kerobian get out of there no amount of gold is worth your life! That's open to debate twisted Of course, providing his reactions are quick enough, he shouldn't be in any danger, as he can teleport.
How did you gain that ability, austin, btw? There can't be many teleporting pirates; the only captains I've heard of teleporting, manned vessels named "The Enterprise"...
