(This is a long introduction. I apologize for it's size.) Most everyone knows me as the Wonderful Jessibell. But I prefer to be called Jess or Jessi because who would want to post the entire name? I mean really, it's a little much right? (Not me, that's for sure.) Anyways, I'm 23, currently preoccupied in matters of life and loving it. (I'm not old to all of you young kittens out there. There are people much older than me on the site.) Why do I like Japanese culture you ask, well, there's two reasons. First, Pocky. Bless them for creating candy sticks coated in chocolate and strawberry. Honestly, a friend turned me on to them back in high school. In fact, she's the reason I began my interest in politics, culture, history and religion. (I'm honestly no religious, highly independent and a non-party affiliate and a collector of biographies and history novels. Gandhi's being my personal favorite.) The second reason would be Shinichirō Watanabe. While my friends toiled away their obsession on cute bubbly anime, I was attracted to the darker side of it. Originally, they followed Sailor Moon and Tenchi Muyo, both excellent animes in themselves. I, on the other hand, became addicted originally to Watanabe's Cowboy Bebop, then later his Samurai Champloo. (Will I go see the live action movie, possibly. I honestly don't think it will live up to the show.) To be honest, I'm here to learn about how to speak and understand Japanese. My current goal is to Snowboard across the globe. (Living in Colorado helps, I can snowboard half the year here.) I am looking to join a German and Swedish guild. Possibly French, Spanish and Italian after that. Maybe even Russian soon after.

Konichiwa! I'm Dark Enigma 0, but i used to be known as D3athDeal3r101. I typically go by Enigma here on gaia.
I'm an 18 year old college freshman and have been interested in Japan since i started really watching anime when i was 12. Some of my favorite series are/were the original pokemon, digimon, death note, bleach, naruto, Prince of tennis, gurren lagann, and many others.
I also read manga alongside watchign anime. Once I began to learn about the Japanese culture, i began to want to experience it for myself, so I plan to take Japanese classes and either study abroad or go there some day.
I like to role play, play video games, watch anime, read(manga included), sometimes draw, and play tennis. I have picked up a little Japanese from watching anime like a nerd, but whatever. I am really looking foreword to learning it from someone who actually knows it.
I hope to be able to have fun here, probably in discussions or RPing.

Hey everyone. I go by the name Ryu.
I love Japan and japanese culture both new and old. I'm fascinated by Sengoku and Edo period Japan. I'm also an anime/manga fan and am the librarian for my local anime society. I've been to Tokyo once, I really enjoyed it and want to go back someday on a more long term basis. I'm trying slowly to learn Japanese, I've picked up random words and phrases but i don't think i'm going anywhere soon until I start learning hiragana.

皆さんこんにちは! はじめまして! カイシです。 カイと呼んでください。 先学期に卒業しただから、自分で日本語を勉強します。 とても難しい。 そして、このギルドを参加しています。 どうぞよろしくおねがいします。
Hello everyone! Call me Kai. Been studying Japanese a long time, longer than I'd care to admit redface I'd consider myself a low level intermediate-intermediate. Also my kanji writing retention is just plain awful. I joined up in the hopes of getting some more practice now that I'm out of school and any Japanese I've learned is escaping my brain like water through a sieve. Yoroshiku~

Hi there. My name's Tobias, but I prefer to be called Faelar, Fae, Laelith, or Rath. Pick whichever one suits your fancy; fine by me.
I have wanted to learn Japanese since I was about thirteen, but haven't really had the chance. I took a course in college, but it was a "For Fun & Travel" course, so I really didn't learn that much. My teacher preferred to share stories and teach us "getting by" tactics (such as saying "Biguu Macuu" when asking where a McDonald's is) than to teach us actual, proper grammar and whatnot.
So I decided since I do little else on Gaia besides spend time in guilds that it would be a good idea to join some foreign language guilds.
I've also studied German, French, and Spanish.
Yes, I did get into Japanese through anime, though I don't watch much of it anymore. It's now about the love of the language rather than just wanting to watch shows without subtitles.
I'm a very open person, so feel free to ask me anything. And even though my knowledge is not very extensive, I'm a quick learner, and I love to help people. So if we're on the same level, feel free to ask me questions and I'll be glad to help as best I know how.
With that aside, I think the majority of important things have been covered. Glad to be here, and hope to see you all a lot!
