MeriThranduiliell Did anyone else think that the dead woman's husband in Jack's flashback looked like Ethan? ninja I thought they looked really similar, but their faces didn't look quite the same. 3nodding Anyway, I knew that Charlie wouldn't be dead, but then I was getting paranoid that TV Guide was deceiving me.

ninja I thought that the show was hinting at first that the man in the hospital WAS ethan, but then on reflection i think they just put a lot of focus on that man to show Jack how far this woman's death had affected people.
I don't understand why Kate didn't help out when Jack was being attacked by Ethan. How could she not have saw the fight? Also, if Kate had such a hard time cutting charlie down, how could he have been strung up like that?
Also, the major thing they are leaving out is the motive for taking claire. That's still not explained.
At first i thought the metal that Locke and Boone stumbled upon was a trap door leading to an underground room, but now i'm not so sure. eek

Ah, I have a small tv, so I wasn't too sure... I was thinking the same thing! But I think Charlie's changed... the island/Ethan did something to him. I just hope he can get better, since he's finally getting over his own problems... ninja

I don't think it was Ethan, but it does look a lot like him.. maybe that's supposed to mean something?
I was asking the same thing about Kate- maybe the fall was longer than it looked? Or maybe she had to take a while climbing down? She looked worn out...
I think it's because she's pregnant- maybe Ethan knows about the "evil" child? Or if Ethan was the man who's wife was killed, and he knew she was pregnant...
At first I thought "coffin" since I don't trust Locke- but it might be a door... ninja

Ohhh, my lifebonded (Veet- she'll post here eventually) has a good theory here: ninja Ethan was luring the followers away, to get them to follow him and Charlie to get them to think he had Claire. Then, whoever he was working with took Claire over to the hideout in the jungle (the trail Locke followed since he's smarter than Jack) and they might be underground in a bunker. Locke and Boone just might not have found the entrance- they're in the right area, though. Ethan was the one dropping Charlie's fingercuffs to make them think Charlie was trying to let them know where he was- he probably drugged Charlie. ninja

I didn't even think about Charlie being drugged, but that seems like a real possibility that would explain why he was so out of it. Who else could Ethan be working with, since it seems impossible to have been able to drag both of them away. Also, how long do you think Charlie was left hanging there, that he was eventually able to be revived?

I'm sure there has to be more than just the two people on the island that weren't in the plane crash. As for Charlie- by rights, the man should be dead. I don't know how he could come back, since he had to have been there for a while- he was discolored... And now I'm going to go shudder because hangings scare me. ninja

Actually, I think that they did that because they wanted to show that Jack had been deceived by someone else that he had trusted, and through it not only lost a woman, but her unborn child aswell. So, basically, the parallel was his father & the patient, to Ethan (who he had trusted) & Claire.

If Charlie WAS drugged, then that might possibly be WHY he survived. But I don't know.

When Boone and Locke found that metal thing, the first thing I thought was "Did they find the trap door to Danielle's Lair?" Seriously, because she was underground, remember?
Shannon showed some concern for another human being! It's a miracle!
Sayid and Sawyer did some bonding! It's a miracle!
Most priceless line:
Walt: "You owe me $20,000 dollars!" Hurley: "You'll get it."

I'm getting anxious about Claire's baby; is she going to be giving birth in the next episode? And if so, does that mean there's going to be a story arc where they're off searching for Ethan who's kidnapped the baby? That'll be sad...Claire's gonna be crying a lot.
