Tam reaches over and tickles him gently in the ribs. "There's a giggle... right about there..." he says with a grin... "I can feel it crawling up yer windpipe... here it comes."

*Kero grabs his hand*
Tam...don't...do you know what happens if I break my word?

Then I free ye from yer promise. Because it was a foolish one to make, after all. I meant fer ye to laugh, silly man... truly I did."

Tam chuckles softly, filling his plate. "Ye know, ye need to realize that sometimes when people ask ye to do or not to do something... they really do want ye to do it. Not often, true... but ye got to look at what they say in context. I mean... How foolish would ye feel, not to say how angry and depressed would ye become, if someone made ye promise not to follow and ye knew they were most likely going to get hurt... and sure enought they do get hurt, maybe even seriously?" He looks up and smiles thinly. "I've been put in that position enough to know, I'd rather break the promise than let one I cared for be injured or harmed."

*Kero nods*
And normally, I won't promise that...or I'll promise not to follow them...and instead I'll go invisible and walk alongside them...then I'm going with them, not following...yes, it's semantics...but I have to play that game, Tam....you do realize what happens when I break my word, don't you?

Tam nods. "I suspect I do... it ties in with your power doesn't it? Then you will simply have to avoid making promises all together. I would if I was in your shoes."

*Kero laughs*
Been there...done that....doesn't work, Tam...eventually, my power comes to realize that anything I say is my given word if I do that...so it's better to make promises so my magic can distinguish between something said in frustration, and something said in earnest.
Now, speaking of earnest...what say we earnestly go and eat supper...

Tam flashes him a tired thin smile "Kero... just don't go promising anyone the moon, OK. It would be hard to explain away it's absence iffin ye do."

*Kero turns pale, then smacks Tam upside the head*
Hey, goofus-doofus....remember what moonlight does to me....imagine if I were to touch it? Not to mention your mama would murder me...now lets eat supper, and forget these maudlin topics.

Tam sits down and begins to fill everybody's plates. "I think we need to start clarifying things around here. I know we've confused the heck out of Pasa... what is going to happen with the girls as they get older?"

*Kero looks at him*
What do you mean? They're going to grow up, of course...I don't know if they'll be immortal, like I am, or if they'll be slow agers, like Lyssan, or perhaps just normal kids...whatever it is, they're going to grow up. Now, Pasa, what's got you all confused? Weirded out by the ideas of each of our lifespans?

Pasa giggles and shakes his head. "I don't think that is what the Singer meant, mes'sirrah." he says with a grin. "Was it, o maker of noise that makes my ears ring?"
Tam mock growls at him and laughs. "No... the age factor and length of life has nothing to do with what I was talking about, O Ye fish belly tickler...." He looks to Bez and smiles. "Due to a certain individual's generosity, my swedh and I have found ourselves in a rather compromising situatios. One which is rather ongoing. I'm not angry, in truth he kind of fulfilled something within me I didn't know needed addressing, but it has left a rather confusing mess in our wake."
