Diel didn't laugh or even bother to answer Ivory's remark. "Use it, like this." Diel gestured towards the device he'd found earlier. He tossed it on the ground. As it did, it grew in size and started to spin. Diel jumped on. He waited for Ebony to do the same.

Ebony shot a quick glare at her sister, then watched Diel. When she saw the device grow, her eyes widened. If that wasn't out of the ordinary, she didn't know what was. However, she followed his visual tutorial, throwing the device down and jumping on top. "So, why do we have to get on these things?" She asked.

As soon as Ebony got on her device, Diel started to lean forward, and in turn started moving towards the end of the sand field. As he moved, strange, green larva-like monsters came up from the sand and started spinning their way towards Diel. When they reached the device's edge, they retreated back into the sand. "That's why" Diel answered. He hated dealing with weak monsters, especially when he still had questions that needed answers.

Ebony seemed to be a little afraid of going out there. Those green, slimy were disgusting for one, but they also seemed deadly if they were to swarm someone. Ebony slowly leaned forward to look at the edge of the sand, which ended up making the device shoot forward. "Hel-" She tried to scream for help, but quickly lost her balance and fell face first in the sand.
Ivory's eyes widened when she saw her sister in the sand. "Ebony!" She yelled. Not a moment later, those monsters reappeared and started speeding toward the girl in the sand. Ivory flew over to her sister to protect her, but there was nothing she could do against creatures. She could only possess humanoids. Anything else, Ebony had to take care of or run from.

Diel jumped off of his device and drew his swords. One by one he managed to kill the larva. "... You're a pain, you know that?" Diel sighed. Getting to the elders would take forever at this rate.
(Diel to the rescue! And then adds insult to injury... ouch..)

Ebony picked herself up off the ground. "Sorry... I've never been to this world before. I don't know how anything operates here." she replied. She tried to ignore her sister's giggling. Yeah sure, everything was funny AFTER the danger was over, but then again, Ivory wasn't the one being insulted. She had it easy, just floating around everywhere.
(This is going to be fun. Heh heh heh...)

Diel got back on his device and continued towards the desert. When he got there, he noticed something strange. "These sands... They're completely different from the last time I've seen them!" The desert constantly changed with the winds, but something like that normally took years until it was considerably noticed. Just how long was he out? He looked at the sands. Navigating his way back seemed impossible. Especially since the wind was blowing sand in all directions. They were trapped.
(And it's just about time to bring in my other character! But first the reaction of Diel's party. And sorry for being so delayed with replying... I'm writing my epic and chatting with friends all at the same time... XP)

(Oh, before we go too far into the desert, I should point out that Lisaya had Helios teleport his castle into the desert a few hundred pages ago. ^_^ Just thought you may want to know.)
Ebony followed behind Diel slowly to refrain from falling a second time. She stopped when he said he didn't recognize the desert. "Um... wh-what do you mean? You DO know where to go, right? We're not lost in a desert, right?" She asked, though, she knew she didn't want to hear his answer. She didn't want to end up as a skeleton buried in the sand. She still had at least 50 years of her life left!
Ivory looked around left and right. She sensed something familiar, but completely different at the same time. "What the? Is there something out there?" She thought to herself. The feeling was that of another spirit, but it felt nothing like what she was used to. Normally, other ghosts and spirits had a presence like hers, but this one felt more closely related to a monster's.
(No problem, man. Oh, and I'm assuming you're bringing in the nameless poe, so I'm having Ivory sense a dead spirit somewhere around there. However, if I'm wrong, I can go back and edit that part out. ^_^)

(That helps, thanks. ^^ And no, you're totally wrong! It's not Mizura, I'm bringing in the nameless poe! Geez, get it right... XP)
Suddenly, blue fire seemed to whip in front of Diel. He drew his swords and braced himself. A poe covered in a shawl and a dark cloak appeared holding a lantern. "This way" It spoke, and began drifting into the desert.
Diel had heard rumors of spirits of the desert that would guide heroes through a sandstorm. It looked like there really was some truth behind the tale after all. "Come on, we're going." Diel said to Ebony.

(^_^)
Ivory moved in front of Ebony when the poe appeared. However, it didn't seem to be aggressive, so she slowly moved out of the way. "Well, I guess I just found out what it was I was sensing before." She thought. Perhaps this was a 'poe' like what Diel was talking about before. If that was the case, maybe all of them were helpful.
Ebony nodded slowly and followed behind Diel. "So... what is that thing?" She asked. She wasn't quite as quick to catch on as her sister was. Hence, why her sister was always the one that protected her, even though Ebony was the elder of the two.

It's called a poe. A restless spirit in this world takes on the form of that until it can be put to rest. After that it disappears." Diel explained. The poe was taking them through the desert, this way and that. At one point, Diel thought he saw a castle past the sand in the middle of the desert. The elders would have a lot of explaining to do when they reached the Gerudo Fortress.

Ebony nodded as the poe led them through the desert. "I wonder if he's really helping us out... or getting us more lost?" She thought to herself. "So, you're a king, right? Then, why don't you look like one?" Immediately, she covered her mouth. That was definitely one of those times where it sounded better in her head than it did when she said it. "I'm sorry! I didn't mean it that way!" Ebony added quickly.
Ivory sighed to herself and shook her head. Ebony never was the type to think about something before she said it. She flew up beside Diel held her hands up in front of her in an apologetic way. "Please excuse Ebony. She doesn't think before she acts or speaks." Ivory stated.

"Just because I'm a king, that doesn't mean I wear a crown or that I'm covered in metallic gold and silver all the time. This is the desert, and survival here takes top priority. Especially since I'm a man in the Gerudo territory. A crown or some goofy looking armor would just weigh me down. I prefer to stay nimble enough to move freely on my own." Diel replied, not taking notice of their apologies. If they had something on their mind, he would rather get things over with instead of adding to gossip.
(Also, because he's from a different time period, I suppose there isn't much need for a man to be distinguished between the other Gerudo. The fact that he's a man would mean he's royalty as he has Gerudo skin and red hair).

Ebony sighed and lowered her head. "Sorry. It's just that I'm not from here, remember? I don't even know what a 'gerudo' is." She replied. "Perhaps it would be best to change the subject." She shook her head slightly and looked back up at him. "Anyway, what are the gerudo like?"

"Gerudo are a tribe of all women that live in the desert. Once ever hundred years, a man is born and he is their king. That's me. Gerudo are typically thieves, though there are some who try to make an honest living. We specialize in magic and swordsmanship. That device earlier is one the creations from one of our sorcerers." Diel explained.
