Queentintin yes when they are young they need warmth, and aparentally the parents kill the young ones, they are chicks we hatched in an incubator xd That makes since...we never had anything but chicks and kept them out doors in a coop with heat lamps. They got big too. Then the bear got them plus the 2 we hatched in a incubator. No more chickens for us. Hey, how many hatched?

Queentintin first batch 6 chanteclerc hatched we had placed round 18 in the incubator^^ 2nd batch 10 hatched! mix chantecler and ameraucana ^^ Nice, so that would be about the norm I'd guess. Hope you get lots of eggs, and do you raise them for consumption?

Hope you get lots of eggs, and do you raise them for consumption? we do get quite a bit of eggs, that's why we incubate them, for hens to lay eggs and well the males, we will eat, for we only need one male, roosters tend to sing, and well we have one that does this pretty well^^ we already have 7 hens, their parents, i get at least 7 eggs per day, until molting time!
